Among The 200 Best Golfers In Washington

Is there nothing that Obama can't do?

I think Barack has hired Kim Jong-ILL's press team. Next week we'll find out he's eight feet tall, wrestles bears and has an IQ of 600.

Honestly, that swing was brutal. It's the kind of swing you laugh at unless he is playing in front of you.

Posted by: northbattrapper at July 14, 2009 12:48 AM

Anybody surprised that he swings from the left side of the ball? That puts him in a distinct minority of the American population.

Posted by: Natedawg at July 14, 2009 1:25 AM

nbt - that is funny. All the US needs to do is put him on all the money they're printing, and the mission will be complete

Posted by: Erik Larsen at July 14, 2009 1:30 AM

Did you see that? - he took the divot and stuck it in his pocket. Maybe he'll sod his lawn with it.

Posted by: Agent Smith at July 14, 2009 1:32 AM

CBS shot this embarrassing video of The Messiah transforming turf into divots.

Watch their stock plunge as government takeover rumours start to fly.

Posted by: aek at July 14, 2009 1:43 AM

that is amazing.
perhaps J.Cretin could give him some lessons? I understood he was quite a golfer in the 90's. Is golf not big in Indonesia? or Kenya? or wherever he may have been born....

That black berry had a stewardess on it, he got all of that one.

Posted by: richfisher at July 14, 2009 2:33 AM

Giggle.....
That reminds me of a cow with a musket...........

Posted by: sasquatch at July 14, 2009 3:19 AM

Agent Smith...nah.The divot was green. He probably figures he can take it home and turn it into another trillion dollar stimulus!

Posted by: Justthinkin at July 14, 2009 3:59 AM

That wasn't a divot, that was his phone - at 1:46 you can see it get knocked off by his clumsy left arm and go rolling. He then reattaches it to his belt, smartly behind his range of motion.

That's the first thing I've seen him do right in this presidency.

Awful golfer though. Bleh.

Two objects of their respective cults of personality, His Obamaness and North Korea's Dear Leader. Like Dear Leader in North Korea, there's nothing His Obamaness can't do, including in the world of golf.

Last year, the North Korean press agency informed the world that shortly after taking up the game of golf, Dear Leader hit 18 - yes, eighteen - consecutive holes in one playing a round of golf in North Korea.

I have no more trouble believing that golf score than I do the economic pronouncements from His Obamaness and his minions.

Marc: "perhaps J.Cretin could give him some lessons? I understood he was quite a golfer in the 90's."

Some perspective: At the 1999 Canadian Open, which Tiger Woods won with a 215 yd 6 iron (!) out of a fairway bunker to within a few feet of the eighteenth hole, Jean played a celebrity round with Tiger. After the round was over, Tiger was asked if he had any advice for JC. His reply: "Work on everything."

Typical for this arrogant fool. Won't take a golf lesson, because nobody tells him what to do. Instead, he displays his incompetence. and he swings like a sissy.

Posted by: billypaintbrush at July 14, 2009 6:47 AM

This isn't about Obama's golf swing. If someone mocked a politician you liked for being a terrible golfer you would (rightly) see it as an instance of shallow, petty partisanship. This is about a press core so craven in its obsequiousness that even magazines not about politics feel compelled to flatter the One by attributing to him an unlikely prowess at golf.

We're veering into Sacha Trudeau meets Fidel Castro territory here.

The media are people who watched Team America and didn't get that it was a joke.

You can't parody these people any more. They're just too pitiful.

Posted by: Jason at July 14, 2009 9:26 AM

I believe Owe might have a 16 handicap because I have a 16 handicap. Anyone who golfs against me spots me 16 strokes on each hole. Funnily enough I have yet to win even with my 16 handicap.

To be fair to the media guys, one of them chimes in:
"Man he sucks"....too funny.

"Now watch this duff"

If he goes any deeper, he will need a digging permit.

Posted by: Woodporter at July 14, 2009 11:42 AM

CBC is reporting that that wasn't a divot he stuck in his pocket, it was a cracker.

Posted by: iggy2shoes at July 14, 2009 12:27 PM

How can you not believe that Obama can do anything. You are committing a sacrilege!! Obama can do everything and the best example he can do everything is the extremely quick way US economy is going down the drain.

Posted by: Kasia at July 14, 2009 4:02 PM

Reality ..... meet ..... Hope-N-Change.

BTW - if you are a registered member at a golf club don't you have to become a member of the Golf Association?

And are you no then governed by the rules of The R And A?

And is it not the rule of the R And A that infractions in rules that are not acknowledged and properly marked with penalties on the score card, grounds for being barred from the ranks?

In other words you can't cheat at golf.

Lying about your score at any time is the number one taboo.....

Obama should bow down and kiss the Scottish half of my ass. Freekin snot nosed little cretin.

Posted by: OMMAG at July 14, 2009 7:10 PM

How ironic. Obambi is a lefty!! A SouthPaw!

Jared at July 14, 2009 8:50 AM

Thanks for bringing up the Trudeau link. If I may continue it:

I read somewhere, in Canada, a mere 6 months ago, pleading "Where is Our Obamaha?". I responded: "We have already had our P. Trudeau. We do not need a repeat. Now the Yanks are getting theirs. I pray for them,.

Posted by: RW at July 14, 2009 8:04 PM

If that is one of the top 200 in Washington, then I guess Washington golfers suck.

Posted by: gobi desert at July 14, 2009 8:26 PM

I think he's going to try and smoke the divot.

Eskimo and iggy2shoes....too funny!

Posted by: northbaytrapper at July 14, 2009 9:51 PM

Hope his follow through in his politics is as bad as his golf swing

Posted by: Larry Bennett at July 14, 2009 10:54 PM

yup, the great leader is the best in the world:

I look forward to great glee when his sorry ass itself does a 'hole in one' into a grave when the pancreatic cancer finally takes him out.
