Now Is The Time At SDA When We Juxtapose!

Peggy Joseph - "I won’t have to worry about putting gas in my car. I won’t have to worry about paying my mortgage."

GOP.gov - "The bill (H.R. 2454) requires the Secretary of Health and Human Services to provide monthly cash payments, or "energy stamps", to low-income households for their estimated "loss in their purchasing power" resulting from the Democrats' national energy tax. The bill establishes a national standard of eligibility (covering everyone under 150% of the poverty line). Energy stamps would reach an estimated 65 million individuals (about 20 percent of all US residents) - making it a larger program than welfare, food stamps, or even Medicaid. (H.R. 2454, American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009, Sec. 431, p. 1193)"

And she won't have to worry about paying any idiotic carbon taxes, either. Other taxpayers will carry her.

Posted by: Soccermom at July 2, 2009 5:36 PM

Hmmph.

Putting more cars on the road when people who couldn't otherwise own or drive makes for higher emissions.

Brilliant.

Let's jack up the energy demand. The big fish behind this are gonna get FAAAAAAAAAAAT(er).

Tea time!

The phony has spoken.

And did you hear the woman with cancer, who was hugged by O at a town hall (she is a democratic staffer) say after the event she was not happy with his answer. She wanted him to cure her. That could explain his cult following, they think they are at a revival and must come forward to be healed. Big shock coming for all americans. Let's hope they wake up by 2010.

Posted by: MaryT at July 2, 2009 6:13 PM

Now do you see the single federal party with two heads?

Posted by: fly on the wall at July 2, 2009 6:14 PM

Please; someone make it(new) stop!

I always thought the human brain has no pain nerves/receptors, but I now know this to be wrong. gahhhhhh!

Posted by: theredsuit at July 2, 2009 6:53 PM

Cool . . . so Obamassiah can borrow more $trillions from the Chinese to pay for these Energy Stamps for poor folks.

By driving the USA into economic slavery, Obama can get his race revenge on the the old America he despises and replace it with his socialist utopian worker's paradise.

Chavez will be so impressed and Cuba will claim victory.

Posted by: Fred at July 2, 2009 7:07 PM

Once this piece of idiocy is voted down, the republicans will be able to say that they were there for the poor, hopefully gaining the vote from the people who have yet to receive their ponies and unlimited supply of "Advance to GO and collect $200" cards. Sleaze against sleaze.

Posted by: wallyj at July 2, 2009 7:13 PM

MaryT:

Apparently the woman (Debbie Smith, I believe) that hugged the big O works for an NGO closely tied to the DNC. Nice to hear that the WH tightly controlled the questions coming to that "town hall".

BUT: I just heard that California has to send out IOUs instead of welfare cheques this month! The hilarity never ends.

And that burning smell is the economy going up in smoke.

All I can say is WOW! I can't believe America is about to plunge headlong into so great an abyss.

Those IOU's are a perfect symbol of America today.

Posted by: rabbit at July 2, 2009 8:19 PM

Peggy Joseph "won’t have to worry about putting gas in my car ... won’t have to worry about paying my mortgage" because she will become a client of a socialist government that feeds her the pixie dust of other peoples' money. Naturally, she will be a new, and willing, voter for the One True Party.

It's like a democratic ponzi scheme!

Grrrr!

Posted by: RW at July 2, 2009 8:42 PM

MaryT, perhaps he can cure Americans of socialism :-)

Irony is that Barry Owe is not an authentic American Black; he is an imposter, a poseur. He has no ancestry of slavery, except, possiblky the Arab variety in his home country. He is not even negro; he just has a dark skin and big Prince Charlse ears - and dark ambitions on America as far as I can tell.

Posted by: RW at July 2, 2009 8:48 PM

Damn. Obama's cheating-aided election and unconstitutional Presidency have proven to be America's Bolshevist Revolution.

What's going on is communism by some other fancy name. The whole global warming/climate change Big Lie is part of it all, part of the whole scheme to usher in international communism. The pieces of the puzzle continue to fit together and the big picture becomes more and more apparent.

I believe the People will uprise...

Posted by: Canadian Sentinel at July 2, 2009 9:21 PM

The worse the better. We need to see the full idiocy of looter politics in time for Americans to wake up for the 2010 elections and take away some of Obama's power to do damage without restraint.

But republicans need to find a real leader if Obama is to be only a one term lesson in reality. Right now they are imploding something fierce.

Posted by: old Lori at July 2, 2009 9:39 PM

Why is it that the Americans are laying low with all this socialism/fascism going on.
Communist manifesto states that “from everyone according to his/her (just to improve on that) ability, to everyone according to his/her needs”.
Does anybody in the media get the drift?
The demagogue is on march to communism, there is no question about that what so ever.

Surely the draftees o this legislation see the folly of it. Are they in this day and age as big a group of dingbats as eleanor Roosevelt ? there is no excuse for naivite on their part.

Do you have a link for that, SF? It'd be a keeper.

I'd heard about the guaranteed income for 150% "poverty" recipients on the Mark Levin show, and I could only shake my head in wonder. Can there be any doubt left that this entire cap/trade ("kill & tax", as Levin puts it) is nothing more than a wealth redistribution scheme?

If this bill doesn't die in the senate, it spells doom for the US

Who was it who said you get the government you deserve?

It used to be said that the sun never sets on the British empire. You can now conclude that we are witnessing Twilight in the entire west. Twilight being the time just before darkness.

Well, time to learn how to shoot. It may be the new "in-demand" skill. Those who refuse to fight don't deserve to survive - and won't. Figuratively and maybe even literally.

Hey Kathy, Kate juxtaposed that on the 29th. Get with the program girl :^)))

Posted by: jcl at July 3, 2009 9:53 AM

And here's a question - if cap and trade is supposed to discourage energy use through higher prices - what's the incentive for the 65 million Americans to reduce their usage if the government's going to pay for it anyway?

Canadian e.g. Quebec hydro power is not deemed "qualified" and therefore not eligible for any credits under the bill.

Words fail me now.. this is a monster, and I hope the Senate puts a stake through its heart.

My understanding is that the California IOU's July 1st and on until a budget is passed, do not go to welfare or unionized Cal State workers, but rather to business that supply goods and services to the State.

I think we had this discussion mhb.

It's coming; EVERYTHING is riding on it. This is why I suggested months ago to bail-out from this sinking ship, PMSH has. Maybe I'm wrong, time will tell. I'm sure Kathy will be here to slam me and call me “the problem" in the mean time.

Just bugg’n K, no hard feelings.
