Good evening ladies and gentlemen, welcome to SDA Late Nite Radio. Tonight, for your delectation, here is Mr. Buddy Greco performing that old Rogers and Hart standard, The Lady Is A Tramp ¤ (2:55).
Your Reader Tips are, as always, welcome in the comments.

The notion that "knowledge is power" is a cliché to which I was exposed early and often in childhood. It is one of the secular myths of the modern West: a version of the myth of technology, that underpins our magical belief in quick fixes.

Personally, I'm not a fan of the current incarnation of the Canadian flag, since it's little more than a Liberal Party logo. I also despise the mamsy-pamsy "Canada Day" meme that replaced the more appropriate 'Dominion Day'.
I also like the Red Ensign as it symbolizes (in my eyes) a time when this country was, indeed, the true, north, strong and free.....before that pinko bastard Turdo sunk his claws into a once proud nation.

Quite funny
Regarding the Red Ensign. Some of the first French I learned was: Le drapeau Canadien est blue, blanc et rouge. Le drapeau Francais est bleu, blanc et rouge. But when marble-mouth Pearson picked the new flag he chose a red maple leaf between two red bars, instead of blue bars to represent the oceans, and all because "blue" was considered a Conservative colour. How petty was that?
Posted by: Larry Bennett at June 27, 2009 12:44 AMLike I said, Larry, "little more than a Liberal party logo." Happy Dominion Day, anyways! ;-)
Posted by: Colin from Mission B.C. at June 27, 2009 12:46 AMSo I did a little surfing on the net this evening to see how many of the so-called big 3 networks, NBC, CBS and ABC, would carry the story about Monica Conyers pleading GUILTY to "conspiracy to commit bribery". Who is Monica Conyers, you might ask? Monica is the wife of the "Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee" of the United States of America - that is who she is.
Of those three only ABC has anything you can read about that story on their web page. And precious little at that.
How much did these phony "news" organizations have on their websites about Gov Sanford and his little escapade? Well some questions just don't need to be answered because, after all, we just know what the answer is - now don't we?
Thank God that Michael Jackson kicked the bucket!! There is just no room for any real news.

Colin:
I too proudly fly the Red Ensign all the time, except for Dominion Day, July 4th, Victoria Day and Remembrance Day when it's the Union Jack or Old Glory, as appropriate.
For those in the Halifax area, the Navy will be consecrating a new Queen's Colour this morning at the Garrison Grounds near Citadel Hill. It has been 30 years since the Queen Mother presented the last Colour to the Navy.
The combined bands of Naden, Stadacona and the Naval Reserve and 400 regular and reserve force sailors will be carrying out the actual parade. A flypast and a 21 gun Royal Salute will also be taking place as the old Colour is trooped for the last time and the new Colour takes it place in the Guard Line.
It promises to be a real spectical.

Tea Party Patriots Action Alert
TAKING TO THE STREETS - SATURDAY, JUNE 27 - NOON
Dear Tea Party Patriots,
Sometimes the call to duty comes in the middle of the night. This is one of those times. And we apologize for the short notice, but you've spoken loud and clear, and demanded action.
Since sending the email asking you what you wanted to do about passage of the Cap and Trade bill approximately 3 hours ago, I have received thousands of responses. All are demanding action, and all are outraged that the House of Representatives passed the Cap and Trade bill, which will cost each family almost $2,000 per year in additional expenses through increased energy prices across all sectors. Patriots across the nation are telling us it's time to take to the streets. We are in full support of your clearly expressed opinion and are here to assist.
To paraphrase one gentleman in the East on a conference call tonight, we need to lean out of every window and scream that we're mad as hell and not going to take it anymore! And we need to scream until everyone is screaming with us.
THIS BILL PUNISHES EVERY AMERICAN FAMILY.
Today you were scammed by the House of Representatives, and despite the fact that you shut down the phones of virtually every member of the House, and barraged them with millions of emails telling them this was against your will, they ignored you and voted for another bill which they haven't even read. The madness needs to stop and we need to stop the Senate from passing the bill.
Tomorrow, because you have demanded it...we take to the streets.
Take to the Streets to Protest the Cap and Trade Passage in the House
Date: June 27, 2009
Time: Noon until - as long as it takes.
Place: State Capitol; or Federal Building in your City, County or Parish
LIST YOUR EVENT AT WWW.TEAPARTYPATRIOTS.ORG
Please go to www.teapartypatriots.org and list your event. Please try to coordinate with others you see posting events there. If there is already an event in your area, please plant to attend that event, and / or volunteer to help that organizer. This is about coordination, not competition. We need to send a message to the politicians.
Bring signs, bullhorns, and your usual good behavior. It's imperative that we shock the politicians and press by being there in large numbers, but we want to make sure that we maintain our reputation by not causing any damage or destruction.
We wrote and asked what you are willing to do about it...and you answered, by the thousands...you said you wanted to take it to the streets. Now it's time for you to spread the message. The time is short, but we can make it happen.
We believe that the Senate will bring the Cap and Traitor bill to the floor on the sixth or seventh of July. We need to send a forceful message to the Senators that we will not tolerate passage of the ACES act in the Senate.
You are the patriot heroes of a true grass roots movement. We asked, and you told us loud and clear what you wanted to do. You told us it's time to light a grass fire and hit the streets tomorrow?
We apologize for the late notice. Your patriotism in standing up to your government is appreciated, and serves as a powerful testament to the founders of this great nation.

The 400 sailors in the four guards showed that they were working their butts off for the last month. They absolutely nailed it. From turns on the march (anyone who has done it knows THAT can be a recipe for FUBAR) to the Fue de Joie to the advance in review order was crisp and sharp. Especially difficult since it was done on a grass field and not a proper parade square.
In almost 20 years in the mob, I had only seen the old Colour on one occasion and it was still strangely sad to see it being trooped for the last time.

He belonged to the ruling classes and his family were Russified Polish aristocrats. After university, he practiced law. He wrote poetry and a novel. He was sophisticated, urbane and widely travelled, even visting the United States. He had suave manners and spoke most European languages and several oriental.
In 1909, when in Paris, he severely denounced the Bolsheviks and Lenin personally saying, among much else, that "The Bolsheviks aim is power, influence over the people, they desire to bridle the proletariat and Lenin is twisting Marxism according to his own whim to gain power."
During the October Bolshevik revolution he was a bystander who played Chopin waltzes on a grand piano in the Smolny Institute when all around him was chaos and panic. "Warmists deny Copenhagen access to polar bear scientist
27 06 2009
From the UK Telegraph 26 June 2009
Christopher Booker
POLAR BEAR EXPERT BARRED BY WARMISTS
Over the coming days a curiously revealing event will be taking place in Copenhagen. Top of the agenda at a meeting of the Polar Bear Specialist Group, set up under the International Union for the Conservation of Nature/Species Survival Commission, will be the need to produce a suitably scary report on how polar bears are being threatened with extinction by man-made global warming.
This is one of a steady drizzle of events planned to stoke up alarm in the run-up to the UN’s major conference on climate change in Copenhagen next December. But one of the world’s leading experts on polar bears has been told to stay away from this week’s meeting, specifically because his views on global warming do not accord with the views of the rest of the group.
Dr Mitchell Taylor has been researching into the status and management of polar bears in Canada and around the Arctic Circle for 30 years, as both an academic and a government employee. More than once since 2006 he has made headlines by insisting that polar bear numbers, far from decreasing, are much higher than they were 30 years ago. Of the 19 different bear populations, almost all are increasing or at optimum levels, only two have for local reasons modestly declined."

"Black-footed Ferret returning to Grasslands National Park print this article
The Southwest Booster
A conservation effort is helping the Black-footed Ferret return to Southwest Saskatchewan.
A species at risk recovery process was unveiled earlier today by the federal government in order to help re-populate the Black-footed Ferret into an area it had historically occupied in Grasslands National Park. The Black-footed Ferret was at one time North America's rarest mammal.
On Friday, the federal government announced both a Recovery Strategy for the Black-footed Ferret, and a Management Plan for the Black-Tailed Prairie Dog. These Parks Canada initiatives are intended to assist in helping restore a fully functioning prairie ecosystem at the Grasslands National Park.
Parks Canada is working closely with many agencies and organizations towards the black-footed ferret conservation efforts. The Toronto Zoo, one of these valued partners, has been the only captive breeding facility for these native ferrets in Canada for almost 20 years."
Well Toronto shouldn't have all the political ferrets should they?
