They are having fun now . . . next stop, the Senate.

The odds increase there, people will actually have read the Bill, including the 300 page amendment filed at the last minute.

So far Orthodoxy triumphs over Science & Reason.

Probably gives Jack Layton an optimistic thrill.

While the Mid-Stream Media is concentrated on all things Michael Jackson the HoR's pass this crap.

Posted by: Zip at June 26, 2009 8:33 PM

When this REALLY kicks in?

I wonder how upset the "traditional disenfranchised" are going to be?

Forget about buying gold. make sure to buy a gun and ammo for it.

It's gonna get rougher yet.

Somebody send me a load of sod for my new house.

Yippee!

Posted by: Melinda Romanoff at June 26, 2009 8:33 PM

I just hope to God that PM Harper doesn't succumb to this eco-leftoid pipe dream and lead us down the path of the goracle.

As for my friends south of the border, my condolences. Isn't it ironic that the people responsible for this thing passing (Pelosi, Waxman) are from the state that is quickly going bankrupt?

Posted by: Texas Canuck at June 26, 2009 8:40 PM

Fred-

They write a separate bill in the Senate, then, if passed, the two bills go to "Conference Committees" and are "reconciled for their inherent discrepancies. Lately, this is where new language is added, like the stimulus bill, all 724 pages of "new" language, which just happened to be all the pork from the House bill that was stripped out of the Senate bill so it could pass.

In the normal course of business, this is known as "bait and switch", or fraud. In Congress, not so much...

Posted by: Melinda Romanoff at June 26, 2009 8:41 PM

The eight Republicans voting yes should be beaten senseless with a carbon credit meltdown.

Oh.

I left out some quote marks, sorry. Here they are:"""""""""".

Posted by: Melinda Romanoff at June 26, 2009 8:42 PM

If and when this bill passes the senate which it probably will. The next major bill to be passed will be the health care reform bill. If that happens that will signal the death knell for the United States of America. Within a few years the U.S. will become a third world nation and Canada right behind them. I hope to God I am wrong.

Posted by: Warren Z at June 26, 2009 8:55 PM

Texas Canuck.
Too late Harper is already courting Agriculture with free credits and the plans are laid in the oil patch.
North America is sleep walking to the slaughter.

Can we cap & trade algore?

Posted by: Sounder at June 26, 2009 9:26 PM

My question would be. How long before Obama destroys the American economy? When this scam is revealed to even the collectivist drones. The faith will die , with it this whole pyramid scam collapsing. I figure inflation will be relentless in its reaction to the abuse of this Governments careless policies.

Never another tax a "progressive" did not like.

Posted by: Ken at June 26, 2009 10:00 PM

Things to watch for:

1- Capital flight
2- Disenchantment sinking in once hyper inflation kicks in which will
3- Cause interest rates to go through the roof

The silver lining to this cloud?

People realizing they got scammed and voting with a vengence for the candidate that promises to ditch this crap and put america back to work...
That or the union is torn apart.

God have mercy.

Soros' wish is being fulfilled. The USA is being destroyed, rapidly, before our very eyes.

Remember, the crisis in September 2008 began with a $500b run on the US dollar. The party behind this, to my knowledge, has never been disclosed.

There are very few that could accomplish such a thing. Soros is likely one of them.

I view the events since September 2008 an overt series of steps meant to collapse the US. And they are working.

A - Ass

What the hell is happening down there?

It is worth noting that this is probably the coolest June in half a century in the northeast U.S., the very region that created the global warming myth and elected Obama.

This won't end well.

Bob, look to Alberta for Galt's Gulch. When I read Atlas Shrugged, I always thought that Alberta would be the ideal place, with all those resources.

Posted by: Hunter at June 26, 2009 10:44 PM

Hey canada, maybe you can pick up a few of the jobs that will be fleeing the US like rats from a sinking ship.

Whoops!Just had a vision...
2 or 4 years, after passing many whoppers of legislation, america tries voting out the democrats. Close vote...protesters in the streets...Obama declares martial law and demonstrators are shot. Obama declares victory. Obama starts shuts down fox news. Hmm...

Rich,
I can hear the wood chippers revving... and the survivalist's lock & loading. Starving people don't organize revolutions, they just resort to self-help

The States need to get this into the SC before Riots breakout....

BTW: ND may have some decom-missile sites for rent

OK a little off topic but I am looking for a bright side. What animal did Waxman steal his nose from. Petty yes but every time I see that guy I wonder about that.

Its like watching a good friend die of Cancer.
Another nail in the Republic.
They might as well give up State governments.
Whets the use when even home owners associations are under Federal control.
Medicare will just enslave them like us by triage medicine. The polity will own their bodies as well.
Rationed medical care. All run by Obama & company.

stupid voters get the stupid rulers they want and the stupid laws they enact. the shit is only just beginning to fly wait till it really hits the fan. i predict a violent revoltion not one at the ballot box.

Posted by: old white guy at June 27, 2009 6:15 AM

I agree with many of you however, until the GOP finds its leader to whom they can rally to in 2010, all the angst may be for naught.

Unless that happens, the Dems may pull a 'Chretien' and steal another victory not by being anything special but by the absence of a viable opposition.

Posted by: PhilM at June 27, 2009 6:53 AM

The Atlanta Tea Party is on the ropes.

The site that was booked yanked the carpet out from under it.

Turns out the property owner was a major Obama fundraiser.

Nothing like waiting until the last minute.

Oh well. All the better reason to make it impromptu and LOUD somewhere else.

Posted by: Curious at June 27, 2009 9:56 AM

I wonder if an Independant will ride up the middle in many districts in 2010 by drawing out the apathetic who've had enough and want an alternative candidate?

Even those who are waking up to the Abomination when they are losing their jobs might say enough is enough.

Hell, those who helped bring in their "Messiah" are going to wake up and see that these policies are going to screw them over harder. The uneducated coattail-riders are still going to be behind in the pecking order when the educated workers that are displaced will still be getting the few remaining jobs over them.

Remember kiddies. First load in the tube of your shotgun is a slug. The last one loaded is #4. In between have 00 or 000. #4 will be the first shot if, God forbid, you have to protect yourself or your family from violent disenfranchisees.

Posted by: Curious at June 27, 2009 10:08 AM

That worked out nicely for them having Micheal Jackson die right before the vote.
I think they killed him.

Posted by: bob at June 27, 2009 10:38 AM

The one thing I don't mind about all this is that it will usher in nuclear power, once cap and trade is in place it will make building a nuke plant twice as lucrative, on top of all the "green carbon free energy" the utilities will be able to sell carbon credits.

Where do people think the carbon credits are going to come from? windmills?

Don't forget that most power utilities around the world have been privatized over the last few year, there will be a deluge of applications beforer the ink is dry.

The best part of all is that the left and the greens will have been bamboozled into nuclear power, which just might be the purpose of the GW scam in the first place.

Ya forgot one Warren, Amnesty, then we are dead.

Glasnot, I can't find any ammmo for the AR or the AK, except for a Russian site that sells Black Devil steel casings. 3,000 minimum limit to order.

But, but, but.

The One assured us just today that this will only cost a postage stamp per day by 2020.

In the Republicans' weekly radio and Internet address, House GOP leader John Boehner of Ohio said, "By imposing a tax on every American who drives a car or flips on a light switch, this plan will drive up the prices for food, gasoline and electricity."

But Obama said the measure would cost the average American about the price of a postage stamp per day.

In California alone, Obama said, 3,000 people will be employed to build a new solar plant that will create 1,000 permanent jobs.

/californica, here we come

Posted by: foobert at June 27, 2009 3:00 PM

3000 people who will have a temporary job and then back on the unemployment rolls.

And then rely on government again...
