Is there nothing that Obama can't do?
White House Drafts Executive Order to Allow Indefinite Detention of Terror Suspects
Obama is finding out that Quantanamo exists for good reason. Should be interesting to see what kind of ride the MSM gives him. They were on Bush like a bad smell over it.
Posted by: bob c at June 26, 2009 6:53 PMThat's President Barack W. Obama to you, m'am.
Sure a big difference between the campaign trail and the White House.
Posted by: rabbit at June 26, 2009 6:56 PMMy first version of this post included a "BWWWAAAHAAAHAAA you rock hard stupid lefty suckers...."
Posted by: Kate at June 26, 2009 6:58 PMbob c, MSM will be fine with Quantanamo now, just like they are with other policies that they opposed under Bush, but support now under Obama. It is the same in Canada, if it is Liberal it is good, if it is Conservative it is bad.
Posted by: Ken at June 26, 2009 7:00 PMWell, this should come in handy when they change the definition of "terror suspect" to include anyone who lips off to the ACORN census inspector.
And hey, building prisons is a stimulus kinda thing, right?
Posted by: The Phantom at June 26, 2009 7:04 PMNotice how the MSM deflects and blames Congress.
Posted by: the bear at June 26, 2009 7:10 PMso that's how Chicago machine politics works . . . lie about everything.
Starting to really feel sorry for my American friends . . . The gotta a real dickhead for a POTUS.
Posted by: Fred at June 26, 2009 7:10 PMThey are going to need it to find places to hide the Congressmen that just passed the Energy and Climate Control Bill.
Just heard it on Fox that it's passed and no one has read the entire thing.
Posted by: Curious at June 26, 2009 7:22 PMBear:
I noticed that sleight of hand as well. "Fearing a battle with congress..."
Rather than assigning responsibility for the (alleged) executive order to the only person who could be responsible, The Post painted Obama as being forced into it, a victim of circumstances.
I wish the media would quit dry-humping this guy's leg.
Posted by: rabbit at June 26, 2009 7:28 PMBe afwade, be wery afwade. Dis guy is worse than that wascally wabbit.
Posted by: Texas Canuck at June 26, 2009 7:33 PMIs there a Guinness Book speed record for riding a bicycle in reverse? If so, the O is a slam dunk for an unbreakable record.
Posted by: Woodporter at June 26, 2009 7:34 PMThis is nothing more than pure incompetence.
I used to think Canada had an imbecilic parliament, but Ace at AoSHQ is reporting that the American House is voting on the Waxman-Markey Bill where "...the bill contains a "placeholder" -- an empty area to be modified/determined later, after the vote."
Posted by: SDH at June 26, 2009 7:35 PM
Obama just passed his energy bill 119-112
It's the end of the Amercian economy folks.
Buy gold now.
Posted by: Momar at June 26, 2009 8:08 PMIs unicorn hunting on a quota, or can anyone get a unicorn license?
Posted by: gobidesert at June 26, 2009 8:22 PMMomar, Even worse than the Americans committing economic suicide is that the CPC is eager to follow suit. Absolutely disgusting to think that "conservatives" are so willing to pander to a bunch of insane leftists.
Posted by: Kathryn at June 26, 2009 8:23 PMObamas change.
Same sh!t
Different color
Watch the defintion of terrorist change now. Right wingers are already called extremists by that group of idiots in the White House.
I don't have a crystal ball but now with the cap and tax bill passed along with every other idiotic bill passed recently, somethings gotta give. Are there any brave left in the land of the free and the home of the brave, or have they all become neutered sissy boys?
I never believed that I would see this happen in my lifetime. Canada will follow the U.S. down the toilet you can be sure.
Never give up your guns. You're sure as hell gonna need them sooner than later.
Posted by: A storm is coming at June 26, 2009 8:46 PMThe operative concept here is how you define "terrorist". According to the watch list the Obama Homeland Security agency issued, a suspect terrorist is anyone who believes in some God, the US constitution, heterosexual marriage, pro life and the Republic of the US, including all Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Does this Executive Order to Allow Indefinite Detention of "Terror Suspects" make sense now?
Posted by: fly on the wall at June 26, 2009 9:03 PMIt has been a while since somebody learned to be president on the job. Give this guy a few more months and he will prove his complete inability to handle the task. Can you say one-term president? Or will he last that long?
Posted by: Peter O'Donnell at June 26, 2009 10:37 PMMaybe they will adopt the BBC leftard approach and rename terrorists "insurgents" so much more touchy feely.
Posted by: LT at June 26, 2009 11:47 PMthe phantom. i think there is a little more to it as well. i didn't see the word jihad anywhere.
Posted by: old white guy at June 27, 2009 6:22 AMmomar. gold will not be of much value when there is nothing to buy.
Posted by: old white guy at June 27, 2009 6:24 AMMethinks the reason The One and his Master want to keep certain radicals locked away, is not that they are harmful to American Society, but rather, are harmful to the "Freedom Fighter" narrative.
Posted by: Shaken at June 27, 2009 8:46 AMBuy LOTS of ammo folks, its gonna be needed.
The revolution looks closer and closer.
Oh and lots of Spam and stuff that doesn't need to be put in a fridge, unless starving is a thing your into.
Obama: "I won."
Darth Cheney: "No I won!"
"BWWWAAAHAAAHAAA you rock hard stupid lefty suckers...."
Water off a duck's back to the relativists.
Disgraceful and terrifying. HOWEVER, this monstrosity is DOA in the Senate, thank God.
Posted by: Dave J at June 27, 2009 1:29 PMEr, whoops, that comment was supposed to be on the cap-and-trade thread.
