But look at those teeth.

Found this article interesting : http://www.cbsnews.com/blogs/2009/06/23/politics/politicalhotsheet/entry5106892.shtml

obama's fourth presser was a lot more contentious than the ones before it. This may mark the end of the sycophantic relations of the MSM with BO. Then again the reporters quoted - Major and Tapper - are both not a part of the sycophancy.

...even the checkmark is backwards.

Posted by: tomax7 at June 24, 2009 6:35 AM

Perhaps, this is the reason they didn't call Obama on his "57 state..." comment. Perhaps, the MSM didn't realize it was a mistake.

Tomax, the checkmark is backwards 'cause everything about the Old Media is backwards. They even write with their left-hands even if they're right-handed!

Posted by: Canadian Sentinel at June 24, 2009 8:22 AM

The questions are becoming more direct, less fawning and the sophistry of Obama is starting to wear thin. The POTUS was defensive and dismissive. The honeymoon is winding down and it turns out that love doesn't last forever. The day to day rigors of real life will take its toll. Welcome to marriage or perhaps quickie divorce.

left-handed checkmark?
just like the Lefty-lefty POTUS?

Hey MSM Talking heads are stupid, products of liberal arts educations, things that have been said on CNN that made my list of things that made me yell at the TV.

Myanmar NOT Burma (I really do not care if you support the regime the country is officially called the Union of Myanmar.) during the Typhoon stories.

Czechoslovakia separated into the Czech Republic and Slovakia, in 1993. Various Talking Heads who repeated the mistake several times over two days. (During the Bush Visit and Missle Shield Talks)

The Plural for Moose is MOOSE NOT MOOSES ... during the GOP Convention Coverage I think it was Anderson Cooper or maybe John King they look the same to me.

It is but a small wonder...actually obvious why the MSM drank the CO2 GW/CC koolaid.......

It seems they can't chew gum AND walk......

Posted by: sasquatch at June 24, 2009 10:35 AM

What the hell do they teach in J-school??? Beyond leftist indoctrination, that is?

Judging by much of what we see and read in the MSM, obviously not even basic English grammar and writing skills, much less critical thinking skills, are in the curricula.

A lot of these "journalists" wouldn't have even made it onto the staffs of the better college newspapers, pre-1960s. (That's when everything starting turning to sh*t, IMO.)

Posted by: Dave in Pa at June 24, 2009 11:13 AM

I don't know what they teach, but I do know what they don't teach - the difference between "less" and "fewer".

Posted by: Kate at June 24, 2009 11:16 AM

...the difference between "less" and "fewer".

...much fewer critical thinking skills..?

Posted by: glasnost at June 24, 2009 11:48 AM

I would be horrified to hear my child tell me he wanted to go to terrorism oops propagandism oops journalism school.

Posted by: FREE at June 24, 2009 12:38 PM

Free, now it the time for conservative kids to go to J school.

After Obama, there will either be a huge demand for conservative journos at conservative radio and TV stations or a good propagandist will always be able to bring home the bacon in the Brave New World of a permanent 1984.

Aren't you supposed to use an X, and stay within the box lines? Would that ballot be rejected?

Journalism?

All it takes is one computer and some willing replicators.

Re. the diff. between "less" and "fewer", it reminds me of the time a Chomsky-ite (he actually got Chomsky to visit the campus), communism-minded economics professor of mine used one of those words in the wrong way... And, yes, I actually corrected his error.

BTW, Glasnost, not to nitpick, but I believe you wanted to say, "Much less critical thinking skill".

Posted by: Canadian Sentinel at June 24, 2009 4:03 PM

Thanks CS.
Now I'm really much fewer confused.

Posted by: glasnost at June 24, 2009 5:47 PM

Much less confused. :)

Posted by: Canadian Sentinel at June 24, 2009 6:52 PM

Kate and Co. re your grammatical criticism of my 11:13 AM remark, "this is the sort of pedanticism up with which I will not put!"

My use of the phrase "much less critical thinking skills" was not in the sense of much fewer critical thinking skills. I was using the phrase as in indicating that the teaching of the even more important critical thinking skills were of even less concern than were the teaching of basic English skills. "...much less the teaching of critical thinking skills..."

Now, re-read the original sentence. Got it now? :-)
