Just snap your fingers and fix the USA!

In the navy, we always fear floods and fires because, as you can imagine, if we can't fix the prob, we die.
I get a sense that the Dems are beginning to feel the same fear: popularity plummeting, jobs still evaporating, and American prestige tanking is akin to taking on water. And despite the O administration's best efforts to shore up , they're still taking on water.
A well disciplined crew stays in the flooding compartment until all hope is lost. I don't think that Democrats have that same discipline so I expect them to abandon the SS Democrat in increasing numbers as time goes on.
Posted by: PhilM at June 22, 2009 9:13 PMNote that Obama's presidential approval index has dropped into the negative ratio. Yesterday it was minus 2, and today, minus 1. This is part of a gradual trend.
He began with a ratio of plus 28-30 (the difference between the strongly approve and strongly disapprove) and is now down to the negatives, in five months.
He began with a total approval of 65% and disapproval of 30. He's now narrowed the difference to 54 versus 45.
Key concerns are his activities with the economy, health care..and foreign affairs.
Posted by: ET at June 22, 2009 10:23 PMHow soon will we hear all the lefties, tingly-leg media and other and Obamabots exclaim loudly from the rooftops that we were right?
Posted by: bluetech at June 22, 2009 11:33 PMThis Obamalot scheme is going swimmingly...I sure hope his brother isn't a pisstank or someone is gonna lose a secretary.

Posted by: syncrodox at June 23, 2009 12:36 AMET, I think Obama must be surprised and offended by those polls (if he listens, which he must).
No matter how much he says to himself, and others, that this financial mess "isn't his fault", he will be wearing it in the future history books. It doesn't matter that it started at the tail end of the Bush admin. Thus runneth the course in big league politics, to which Obama is ill suited.
As I have previously mentioned, his course of action in the past has always been successful.
Target profitable companies that are perceived to be successful on the backs of "the downtrodden". Appeal to their inherent good corporate citizenry, and shake them down. Repeat, and repeat.
He has no template for dealing with the matters in front of him right now.
And it must grate him terribly to be unpopular, despite being so charming to so many.
He can't shake down North Korea or Iran. Genuflection before foreign leaders isn't viewed as respectful, only weak
Posted by: Erik Larsen at June 23, 2009 1:55 AMPS - for those who haven't previously looked - the JibJab site has a great video that was released before the last US election (McCain/Obama). Hi-larious!

Posted by: Erik Larsen at June 23, 2009 2:40 AMI'm really concerned about what Obama's going to do when he becomes unhinged, which is bound to happen when he finds his allure is rapidly fading. IMO, his extreme narcissism creates a psychological unbalance, rendering him a loose cannon when things don't go his way.
WATCH OUT!
It IS good to see that a whole lotta people, not just us, are realizing what a monumental Here-I-Am-to-Save-the-Day Mighty Mouse he is. Watching him strut and pontificate and spew his Magical Thinking Benedictions is like watching a very insecure kindergarten kid in the school yard, bragging about all the things he can do.

No because, they're good mohammedans...but one has been charged with attempted rape of a 13 yr old -- that's right he's a pedophile rapist.

Posted by: favill at June 23, 2009 8:53 AMeric and batb - yes, his extreme narcissism is of great concern, because he can't handle not being able to control others.
His first strategy of control is charm; he'll dance and sing and talk endlessly with lots of promises, to get people in his control.
Then, if anyone raises questions, he'll use the strategy of disdain, denigration, mockery, sneers. Examples are his sneers at Limbaugh, Hannity and others. And his denigration of the Tea Parties.
If they continue to question, he'll use his loyal followers to act as thugs. He'll get rid of the people who question (eg, the Inspector General).
He'll make people do what he wants by that emotional manipulation, and, by threats of crisis. Recall how he insisted that the economy would collapse if the stimulus wasn't passed. Without reading it.
And, if he can't control them, then these people literally don't exist for him. He has no interest in them; they are invisible.
Posted by: ET at June 23, 2009 9:48 AMYep, Like in Iran in a sense, all is not A-OK with glorious Obama and his lefty goon marxist Administration. Although you would think everything is so rosy because almost like in Iran, our own SCM (It's not "Main Steam Media" anymore, we should use the acronym for "State Controlled Media")are still silent about the rapidly growing discontent amongst the silent majority. The ones who never drank the kool-aid are being joined by the ones who took a chance and drink just a small glass of it at the last election.
Today, at 12:30 Obama will have a press conference. I espect at least 2 maybe 3 tough questions.
Speaking of Tea Parties, the next one is expected on July 4th and according to it's main rallying website, it's going to be a huge one complete with Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid designated porta potties.
This time around, how will Obama and the SCM be able to hide, downplay, laugh and ignore it without just amplifying the anger even more?
Cracks are starting to show. Where's that birth certificate anyway?

Posted by: x2para at June 23, 2009 1:48 PMThere is one thing Barry can't do. He can't get through a news conference without saying "I am the President".
I hear the teleprompter crew is working on that.
