Having researched this topic for a few decades, I've come to the conclusion that there really is a Jewish conspiracy; just not in the sense that most people would define conspiracy.

There are two ways one can react to a situation like this: start ranting about conspiracies and join the national socialist party or investigate further (actually there's a third option and that is to do nothing). I chose to investigate further and after extensive research discovered that there is no "Jewish conspiracy" and that all of my observations can be explained by racial IQ differences.

Average IQ for white N. Americans is 100 and Ashkenazi Jews score 115. US blacks come in at 85. Given the 30 point IQ difference between Jewish and US black IQ's, it's no wonder that people like Jerremiah Wright will rant about a "Jewish conspiracy" since he's likely incapable of comprehending that in a technologic society high IQ is one of the strongest predictors of how well an individual will do. Only a tiny proportion of blacks have IQ's in excess of 115; roughly the same fraction of Jews that have IQ's in excess of 145. This also explains why 25% of Nobel prizes have been won by Jews.

High IQ tells one nothing about whether an individual will be fighting to maintain freedom or pushing a socialist agenda; Marx was Jewish. Until we get better intelligence enhancing drugs the intellectually challenged will continue to rant about the "Jewish conspiracy".

I'm not sure it's so much race as culture that drives those stats. Technically you could use those stats but it would probably be disingenuous. I would think that the fact that Jews and Asians probably encourage studying more than Black or White families. Now we are speaking in generalizations here so I would submit that if a Black child were raised by a Jewish family his IQ score would be higher.

As much as you need to be born with a good IQ it still needs to be exposed to intelligent scenarios for you to write the test and score well.

If your kid learns to play the piano, reads a lot, and studies mathematics he will be far more intelligent than a kid who plays video games, listens to rap music and reads comic books.

Gord, you're partly right about the influence of culture: Jews have a culture of learning and intellectual pursuits are highly valued. Your experiment of taking black children and putting them into white homes (I don't recall whether it stated if the families the children were placed with were Jewish or not) and the results were disappointing. This tells me that we're dealing with hard-wired differences in neurology.

One biologic difference between blacks and whites is that black children develop much faster that white/asian children and it is likely that brain development occurs significantly faster in the black children. In whites/asians the period of brain development is relatively prolonged and in these races it is easier to rewire the brain so that it is better able to handle intellectual pursuits. I don't know of any studies that have taken these neurologic differences into account when enriched childhood environments have been provided to see if they increase IQ.

The very high prevalance of lipid storeage diseases such as Tay-Sachs, Gauchers disease, etc in the Ashkenazi Jewish population suggests a mechanism for the increase in intellegence. Single copies of the genes for these diseases may enhance brain synaptogenesis although no human studies have been done to test this out yet.

The relative proportions of nature and nurture in determining adult IQ are still being debated although the overwhelming body of evidence now supports the notion that there is a very large biologic component. Having an appropriate family environment to maximally bring out the genetic potential is also very important but the fact remains that there is a 30 point IQ gap between Ashkenazi Jews and blacks.

Could very well be. I hadn't heard that. You obviously have read up on the subject. My concern would be in using statistics that people start abusing them. (like people are want to do).

What I've always found curious is why people have no trouble accepting the genetic basis of some racial traits but intelligence somehow seems off limits; there is no outcry over the lack of Jewish representation in the NBA, heavyweight boxing or the NFL. Unless people are aware of the IQ differences then nothing can be done about many social problems: a white liberal with an IQ of 120 would think it preposterous that a woman would get pregnant to collect welfare whereas to a single black teenage female with an IQ of 80 this would be a most logical career move. I'm not sure. I think it's similar to the difference between a craftsmen and an artist. Artist can't put out the quality of a craftsmen and craftsmen can't put out the creativity of an artist. (ok I'm thinking on my feet here but you get the drift).

Funny you mention the Sephardic Jews. I was a chef/food writer/researcher for a part of my life. The Sephardic Jews basically invented Mediterranean cuisine, which became Italian and then French.(of course there are arguments to the contrary) Very clever people. They were probably terrible at double entry accounting though.

I think that any research into IQ and race is probably a worthy pursuit but it would be like playing with fire. The wrong people would no doubt draw the wrong conclusions.
