"Anyone who describes Islam as a religion as intolerant encourages violence"

I will agree with the above statement when leftists or feminists agree with the following statement,

" Any woman who describes a man as a wife beater encourages violence"

I'm sure 99% of leftists or feminists who read this will completely miss my point...

Read somewhere that insulting the Prophet is totaly intolerable.

Yet, when somebody insults Allah, he is given three chances to recant before facing punishment.

Therefore, the Prohpet is more important than Allah.

Curious emphasis.

you know the routine set you free... Submission to the pedophile prophet ect...

In related news.. the greeks are catching their breath as well this weekend. "Cradle of civilization" and all that.

Posted by: marc in calgary at May 23, 2009 11:59 AM

Why not? When in Greece, do as the Greeks do. And Greeks (of the Greek orthodox variety) have been rioting against police excesses for what, a year now?

Another overdone half-baked story.

Posted by: Yawn at May 23, 2009 12:21 PM

A problem in Greece is that the police themselves are not well respected. The riots earlier this year were a result of that.

So I wonder if the Greek Police will have problems facing down "immigrant riots" when a significant portion of the population doesnt like or respect the police.

I would watch carefully and see how the forces align there. Worst case outcome, martial law and we would see what flows from that.....

I hav said before that europe is different ahn North America. The aboriginal people of Europe are Europeans...so which side does the left take when the aboriginals revolt agianst the immigrants, we know what would happen in a North american context. How does that apply in a european one?

Posted by: Stephen at May 23, 2009 12:26 PM

Hmm. I wonder how this slipped under the ever-vigilant SDA radar.

Groups of extreme nationalists of the anti-immigrant Golden Dawn group were throwing rocks, firecrackers and petrol bombs on the old court building (in Athens).

And it happened just two weeks ago. Intelligence is all about seeing only what you want to see. Genius.

Posted by: Yawn at May 23, 2009 12:27 PM

so.......logically, anyone who describes Christianity as intolerant encourages....... A BIG BOX OFFICE!

Angels and Demons anyone?

Leftardism is a mental disorder.

Another potential Liberal voting bloc to follow in the footsteps of the Tamils

Has Iggy been briefed?

Posted by: Bruce at May 23, 2009 12:43 PM

I know I really shouldn't feed the new troll, but...

The 'Golden Dawn' group referred to are a bunch of 'neo-nazi' youth who were throwing rocks and firecrackers (no mention of petrol bombs) not at a federal building, but at 500+ illegal immigrants who had been 'camped out' at the Court for weeks on end.

The illegal Muslims in turn fired back with rocks from the eight story building - and how does one find rocks eight floors up, unless they were carried and stored there for the purpose?

And then a bunch of 'anarchists' jumped in to attack the 'Golden Dawn' group, because they like well, anarchy.

So our troll doesn't exactly tell the 'whole story' either.

A bunch of proto-nazi scum attacking illegally occupied federal property by illegal immigrants doesn't exactly equate to illegal immigrants attacking federal forces for an ALLEGED minor act - and I reiterate minor - of defacing or tearing a Koran.

I also note that the 'organizer' of the 'protest' has demanded the alleged defacer be punished and that the State offer an official apology.

BTW, illegal immigration, largely Muslims form Afghanistan and Pakistan, has climbed by 54% since just 2006. Meanwhile, Greece is an aging, dying culture whose future is not bright.

The future of Greece belongs to Islam and apparently the Islamist's job is to hasten it along.

My all time fav protester sign;
"behead those who say islam is violent"

The future of Greece belongs to Islam and apparently the Islamist's job is to hasten it along.

NOT TRUE, Greece "the cradle of civilization" deserves our assistance.

The only way to deal with islam is the way Brigadier General John J. Pershing dealt with them.

Posted by: FREE at May 23, 2009 1:11 PM

Islam is violent, therefore it gets criticized as such.

To say it is violent because it's been criticized for actually being violent in the first place... is illogical.

Posted by: Canadian Sentinel at May 23, 2009 1:23 PM

The Ayatollah Khomeini famously said "There is no humour in Islam". And neither is there any logic. That would explain why civilization left Islam in the dust about fourteen centuries ago.

The reward for a suicide bombing or living frugally, humourlessly and having only four wives is a never-ending orgy with countless virgins? How and in what Universe does this make any sense?

Posted by: Kevin F. at May 23, 2009 1:34 PM

hmmmm since hatred seems to be in abundance theses days, maybe we could get the radical Islamists pissed off at the Tamil Tigers and they could have a go at each other.

Put it on TV, syndicate the concept . . . make a fortune.

Is this relevant?

It's not about Goreacle, aka manbearpig; thus, it seems relevant.

The title* of the piece is a releveration: it's never before been seen in the English language:

*"From Mohammed to Ayn Rand"

Sample question:"DS: Where did ProPiganda, your upcoming graphic novel The Infidel, and Pigman come from?"

The headline should read:
"Anyone Who Describes Islam As A Religion As Intolerant Encourages Truth with liberty to its captives"

Posted by: Revnant Dream at May 23, 2009 3:26 PM

Whether in Greece or any other place Islam invades, it is the propaganda of Islam as the Religion of Peace that is most upsetting to me.
In fact, it is the "radical extremists" who are the true believers of the Quran and who have most closely adhered to its teachings. The peaceful Muslims are the ones who cherry-pick the verses that are most compatible with their mild sensitivities and ignore the exhortations to colonize and conquer the entire world for Allah.
Honest debate of the Quran and Islamic origins, if it were permitted, would reveal the truth, and the lack of reasonable foundation for faith, would be exposed.
Christianity has always been, and still is debated widely and, as far as can be with the subject of faith, is based on reason.
Until reason is permitted a role in the discussion and promulgation of Islam, we will continue to see frenzied masses screaming for jihad in the streets of Tehran and Islamabad, and misguided apologists in New York and San Francisco peddling Religion of Peace propaganda.
In it's attempt to overthrow Europe by force, the Ottoman Empire failed to get past Vienna. But in the last few years, it has finally succeeded as Europe has fallen to Islam.
Africa and Indonesia continually suffer the violent incursion of Islam in Somalia, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Darfur, Bali, Djakarta, and others.
North America is next and we are already being lulled to sleep by the misguided propagandists.
Wake up people and stay alert. Study Quran and know the truth. Islam does not deserve the following it has gained.

I realize this post is off topic, but I thought readers would like the link to the story regarding Obama receiving a scholarship as a foreign student when he attended college. You will need to scroll down past the pics - the story was posted May 5th, 2009.

NATO will now star bombing the Greeks for their intolerance to Muslims.

Posted by: Simeon at May 23, 2009 4:43 PM

Ah No Guff,

Hits the target and misses the point. Golden Dawn, in addition to duking it out with anarchists and illegal immigrants, also decided to injure some policemen.

But lets spin it in such a way so as to show one group of crazies as better than the other two. What were the illegal immigrants supposed to do, if not fight back? Get molotoved? I m sure you would do that if you were in their position.

The rest of the posts are pretty much repeated ad verbatim from similar threads on this site. Its like theres nothing fresh out there anymore. When you repeat yourselves, do you:

a) realise that you are preaching to the converted?
b) realise that you're only really wasting bandwidth?

Maz2 Your list left out one of my favorites, Nonie Darwish author of Now They Call Me Infidel. I strongly recommend it, as well as a fiction book, The Haj by Leon Uris (I believe Uris was the first one to publicly say that there is something terribly wrong with Arab society), as well as the works of Barry Rubin, see barryrubin.com. All these works should be mandatory for anyone who wants to understand the Arab political culture, aka, Arab terrorist culture. The works of Bridgette Gabriel also deserve mention and The Trouble with Islam by Irshad Manji.
I would start with Eric Hoffer's The True Believer and then go on to everything he wrote, (I would have not survived the 60's without Eric Hoffer).

Fred, that is really scary what Holland has become. Hirshi Ali, Steyn and so many others like Wilders have warned about this but the stupid authorities attack them as the easy target and run in fear from the muslims.

A friend over for lunch yesterday said Birmingham is going the same way.

This is the most ridiculous thing I think I've ever heard about.

Mark Steyn made a good point in one of his essays, i.e. that statements such as the one posted seem irrational only if one makes the following assumption: the speaker wants to engage in a rational discussion. If one drops that assumption, then the statement is perfectly rational for it is, in fact, a threat.
I see no convincing evidence that Islamists anywhere are particularly interested in carrying on a debate with anyone with whom they've come in conflict, particularly if they have an advantage, numerical, military, political or whatever. When in a position of profound weakness vs an infidel group muslims will use whatever verbiage is necessary to defend or advance their cause and appear more than happy to take advantage of loopholes in democratic institutions for the same purpose. But the verbiage rapidly evolves into physical violence once that seems to offer a better prospect for control over a territory. In its early years Islam certainly didn't spread by prosyletizing; it spread by the sword. Whereas the JWs, Mormons, and even the occaisional I'm-not-sure-what sects have come to my door (with mixed receptions depending on my mood) I can't remember ever having two muslim missionaries come knocking.
The violent streak is a problem Bernard Lewis, and muslims or former muslims such as Irshad Manji and Aayan Hirsi Ali have pointed to. It seems Islam needs its reformation in order to grow up. Until then, it will remain an adolescent religion. And the democracies will have to grow adult spines in order to keep its adherents from injuring everyone including, most of all, themselves.

Statistics can be very illuminating....

In any average year more books are translated INTO Spanish than have EVER been translated INTO Arabic. This speaks volumes (no pun intended)!!!!!!

Sounder,

Wow thats quite the article. I think I would have been tempted to tell him that his wife is "very attractive" in a Quagmire (from Family Guy) kind of way.

Because mischief is important, as someone around here is fond of saying.

Either that or call the police based on the physical threat.
