Happy Hundredth-Day Day, Rookie.

buckstops.jpg

Is there nothing that Obama don't know?

Federal officials knew that sending two fighter jets and Air Force One to buzz ground zero and Lady Liberty might set off nightmarish fears of a 9/11 replay, but they still ordered the photo-op kept secret from the public.

In a memo obtained by CBS 2 HD the Federal Aviation Administration's James Johnston said the agency was aware of "the possibility of public concern regarding DOD (Department of Defense) aircraft flying at low altitudes" in an around New York City. But they demanded total secrecy from the NYPD, the Secret Service, the FBI and even the mayor's office and threatened federal sanctions if the secret got out.

Bingo!

The people who populate the Obama administration really don’t believe in 9/11. They may have read about it, They may know intellectually that it happened. But they view it the same way we may view a lightning strike that hits an isolated golfer: a billion-in-one shot that “just happened.” That’s why the Obama team is renaming the attacks of 9/11 as “man-caused disasters” putting it on the same moral plane as an auto wreck. That’s why the Obama team is not really concerned about revealing what we do to interrogate prisoners with vital information. They don’t believe we haven anything to worry about. Unlike the people who evacuated their buildings during the fly-bys and who ran for their lives, believing that they were under another attack. For Team Obama, it’s always 9/10.

Plus, who was holding the camera?

Gotta disagree, Kate. They know about 9/11. They just don't -care- about it. They are happy to risk the lives of the stupid peasants for a nice photo op of their new shiny plane. Couple old ladies get squashed to death in a stairwell, couple fat guys have heart attacks evacuating the building? Its OK!

Nobody _important_ got hurt, eh? Relax!

Hey, that rookie's got a near 80% approval rating and a filibuster-proof majority!

Posted by: bleet at April 29, 2009 12:16 AM

The question I have is Is BO upset because of the furor and bad PR it caused or because he immediately realized that such a site would really upset new yorkers in a post 9/11 world?

I wish we had footage of the moment he was informed ...

By the way, I have to say I just LOVE the way the MSM dinks are helping The One blame some Peter Principled doofus in his office for this. And the FAA. And a coup[le more people. But not The One In Charge.

I mean, its Bary's plane now. Bary knows where it is and what its doing. How stupid would we all have to be to believe Bary didn't sign off on this cluster f-?

These people are arrogant. Like capital "A" Arrogant. You think this was bad, you wait and see the crap they are going to pull with the Fairness Doctrine and gun control. Its going to be 1933 all the way, baby.

What is so amazing is that this whole administration seems to be filled with rookies, amateurs, and misfits

From poor gift selection, to strange protocol choices, to questionable decisions, and the seeming disdain for his predecessor - well, I don't think that things have gone swimmingly so far.

80% bleat? I read 56% today, and that's it's the second worst for a new president at the 100-day mark. The worst was Clinton around the time of the Waco travesty.

Bingo! alright Kate. The Phantom: I believe "knowing" is used here in the metaphorical sense, as in: understanding it. Remember Steyn made a similar observation that 9/11 was being portrayed as some kind of gigantic accident ... tragedy. Something that happened, some kind of natural disaster.

Dhimmi:

According to the Rasmussen Reports daily presidential tracking poll, you are bang-on.

Today's results show a 56% approval rating – once again proving bleet never lets the facts stand in the way of any of his statements.

First, it was a demonstrable lack of moral compass in the lesser of two evils debate on protecting America and now the BS of a fantasy approval rating number.

Wait until people figure out that the money GM bondholders put up is worth only one-twelfth of UAW money. Private interests, including retirement funds of many pensioners totalled $27 billion and Obama deemed that was worth 10% of the company. Meanwhile, the UAW held $10 billion in GM bonds and Obama decreed those shares are worth 39% of the company.

And, today, the UAW now owns 55% of Chrysler because Obama just gave it to them.

Lovely country you have there, Margarita. Can we call it the USSA?

These kinds of guys are the really dangerous ones, because they'll do anything to cover up their ignorance and stupidity. Obama's merely a puppet in others' hands and his arrogance, a blind behind which to hide his appalling vacuity.

Get ready . . .!

With virtually no accountability for any kind of wrong doing in our society these days, especially if one belongs to a favoured group, Obama's the “Whatever” end result.

It starts early: no consequences for anti-social to criminal behaviour in the public schools. "Hug a thug" and "tarnish [if not varnish] the teacher" are the new philosophy—as in since the sixties hippies took over. Is there any surprise that "thou shalt make the lives of captured terrorists cozy and comfortable"?

I watched Obama when he responded to the fly-over: surreal—and very scary. This man behaves like a sociopath: no affect. He was joshing and laughing with people in the room and only downgraded his laughing to a smirk: “Hey, guys, don’t worry. It was a mistake. ’Won’t happen again,” as if he'd forgotten to take out the garbage or something. No sense of gravitas, no sense of regret, no sense of the huge inappropriateness of what had happened. This rObamaton is an arrogant and dangerous man.

As many here have pointed out, things are not at all as bad as we thought they’d be when the Big Owe got hold of the reins of the USA: they’re infinitely worse. The USSA: excellent!

I knew things were pretty crazy and out of whack in our society, but when I see that, despite his administration’s serial, whacko behaviour, Obama’s approval ratings are still high, a feeling of despair begins to creep in: people are so brain dead—as in don’t bother to pay attention to reality—and/or so brainwashed, they’re willing to be totally duped.

As I said, “Get ready . . .!”

It reminds me of the Bob Rae government in Ontario. All these activists, social engineers, unions, special interest groups and just plain thieves suddenly went from being in the shadows to being in control. They never though or cared about what problems their actions would cause. They just lived in the moment.

I wonder what this photo opportunity is actually for ? Is it for a forthcoming instance of propaganda ? Did the effect of freaking out the New Yorkers actually ruin any evil plans ? I can't help but think that there is some sinister usage for these photos in the future.

Notice Obama's reaction - he said he was furious at this 'stunt'. But wait - he knew about it; it wasn't a decision taken just by the pilots and camera crew.

Remember Obama's reaction to the public anger over the AIG bonuses? Again, he went on public media to say that he too, was furious. But - he knew about it; his administration had written in these bonuses and approved them.

So, this is a pattern. Obama never, ever, takes responsibility. He always blames others. Right now, he's embarked on a massive Bash Bush campaign to denigrate any questions and dissent about him.

Is he a sociopath? Hmm - near to it. He's pathological, as a narcissist, and that can get close to the sociopath's nature.

"Price for getting your Congress buddies to ridicule car company CEOs for flying in on company jets? $0.00"

And then he flies the granddaddy of them all for a junket. Incredible.

IMO, the whole world should have clued in when, on the campaign trail, Obama confronted Joe the plumber and essentially agreed that redistribution of some of Joe's money was necessary.

Posted by: PhilM at April 29, 2009 10:43 AM

I agree with gord. This is the Bob Rae nonsense all over again -- nine months to a year of party hearty followed by, "You mean this comes with a bill??!!??" The crucial difference is that Bob Rae, for all his failings, was neither stupid nor completely uncaring, and at some level seemed able to recognize that things were seriously off the rails and that innocents were getting hurt. Obama, by contrast comes across as more of a Shakespearean Richard III -- the worse things get the nastier and more deceitful he'll get and the consequences to mere underlings, especially the people of the USA, be damned. Bad times ahead!

It's the reductio ad absurdum of affirmative action.

He's an interesting man: ambitious, intelligent, decisive, and unafraid of responsibility.

But, his abysmal ignorance of the world outside of Democratic Party politics renders him utterly unqualified for his responsibilities as the President of the USA.

Lots of brilliant people are eager to help him, by his loyalty to the party hacks that put him where he is will keep them outside the door.

So tell us Ulianov, if 100 days without an attack is good news then you must have been ecstatic when GWB went over 7 years without one. And by that metric if BO has one happen on his watch in a shorter interval will he be a failure by comparison?

If BOs turn the other cheek tactics ultimately make the US and the world a safer place then i will be more than happy to recognize his greatness, but for now i doubt they will and i have the whole record of human history to look to for precedents.

This is a very "blue", historically Democratic area. Some of my far-down-the-road neighbors are now out of work, in an area that is chronically depressed to begin with.

They found out that none of the rescue monies made it this far out into the boonies, nor will it. Little chance of any of it getting past Lansing and Detroit.

The $9 to $13 per week tax cuts for their spouse's paychecks have become a joke. Around here it cost that much to drive to the store.

and the talking head on CTV(tass) this morning had a big shiit eating grin on this morning declaring that the big Owe has a higher approval rating at 100 days than GWB did after 8 years. it is nutz.

Posted by: cal2 at April 29, 2009 12:18 PM

Rasumussen, which is rated as the top polling analysis, shows how Obama's approval ratings have dropping in the 100 days from the double digits (30s) to single digit of plus 4,5, 2.

Rasmussen points out that what has happened is that his base has dropped to a polarized segment, to the Democratic base. He has lost essentially all Republican support and much of the independents. His approval ratings are in the middle of the ten presidents who preceded him.

David Paul Kuhn writes that "Obama may in fact cross the milestone as the most polarizing president of the modern era." Republican approval of Obama dropped from 41 to 30 percent in his first few weeks in office, and conservative Republicans fell from 36 to 22.

And 'Obama is popular but no JFK". It is important to consider that Obama always tries to set himself apart. From any political party, from any ideology. The reason for this is because of his narcissistic need to control others rather than being controlled by them. Yet, reality shows otherwise. Obama does not lead; he delegates.

His stimulus package was delegated to Pelosi and Reid who filled it with pork - which Obama then blamed, astonishingly, on 'Bush made me do it'.

The AIG fiasco - with the bonuses which his administration wrote in- Obama flipped and claimed ignorance of the whole event.

His consistent anti-Americanism has been to self-define himself, alone, as 'loveable' even if you don't like America.

Now, when a president self-defines himself as outside of ideology, and yet, his every action is steeped in ideology - this creates a dilemma for the electorate. Who and what is real about Obama?

What is Obama losing with the reduction of his firm support to one party and with an electorate of independents who are confused about his identity? He's losing the centre - and that's the key to a successful mandate.

Posted by: ET at April 29, 2009 12:25 PM

By the way, back to Rasmussen, but the only reason Specter switched to the Democrats, violating his previous public announcements that such switches are unacceptable - is because it appeared that he was going to lose his Senate seat in the 2010 elections.

Republicans were giving Toomey 51% while Specter only got 30%. With that kind of a margin, Specter knew he had to do something. He's been in the Senate for 28 years and as Rasmussen notes - "those are stunningly poor numbers for someone who has been in Congress for that long'.

AND 79% of Republicans in that state have a favourable opinion of the Tea Parties; i.e., protests against Big Government.

So, Specter, focused only on himself, is hoping to get the Democratic base in Pennsylvania, which would get him about 32%. BUT, that biased Chris Matthews of MSNBC was thinking of running, obviously as a Democrat. My bet is that higher-ups will 'ask' Matthews not to run against Specter.

Posted by: ET at April 29, 2009 12:40 PM

Yeah, this was pretty stupid and callous. But you know what's worse? Pretty much every move George Bush made.

From invading Iraq, to screwing up Katrina, to torturing, to lying on countless occasions. Oh, and let's not forget taking more vacation time than any other president in history. Yup. We're talking Grade A f*ckwit, and you losers STILL think he did a good job.

What reality are you guys watching?

Posted by: John at April 29, 2009 12:43 PM

John,

Just cause you're stupid enough to believe imbeciles doesn't make your delusions true.

You're like a dimwit made worse by a head injury.

Iraq's news coverage is about zero now. Guess why.

Katrina was messed up by leftard mayor of the most corrupt city in the US (and competing with Obama's Chicago, that's saying something,) the democratic governor and the twits who built a city below sea level in a hurricane zone. None of those people were from the federal government. FEMA's rule is that the locals are in charge for the first 3 days. There were there on time. It was the locals who screwed up but the media doesn't bash their side.

The army isn't sent in the national guard is. Guess who controls the national guard? That's right, the democratic governor.

Torturing the head of a terrorist organization is not only acceptable but damn near mandatory. I'd advocate keeping up long past the point where you know everything.

As for lying, you may be dense enough not to know the difference between the media and other leftard's disapproval and not telling the truth. You retards seem to think anything you disapprove of is a lie and any time someone is wrong or even when you just don't like what you hear that it is automatically a lie.

As for Vacations, I'd say Obama's REAL vacations to date far exceed Bush's working "vacations." The media even bashed Bush's vacations when he was entertaining heads of state. Of course, they don't' do that when it's a democrat.

In fact, leftards such as yourself seem to like to make up your own reality and call others liars when they don't join you in your delusions.

You lot are sick, twisted, degenerate losers.

And I don't even like Bush.

Posted by: Warwick at April 29, 2009 12:55 PM

Bingo is bang on.

The bottom line is most Bush bashers don't think there is a threat to national security from Islamo terrorists. That being said, there is no point in continuing any discussion about how to combat terrorism(or manmade disasters) with these people. For those that do concede that something must be done to preserve national security, I simply ask them "What would you do”; which is usually followed by silence.

BTW, yes I do try and speak and challenge people about their views regularly.

Exactly Warwick

What lies is John talking about?

BO has been busted lying for real. I seem to remember in the Primaries BO saying "then we'll bomb Pakistan" and saying "I'll meet him(amadiddybob) without preconditions"; then, at a later date wrt both statements, on two occasions, saying "that's not what I said". It is what he said, he's a liar.

"The bottom line is most Bush bashers don't think there is a threat to national security from Islamo terrorists."

You are correct in what their thoughts are regarding national security under THE ONE-WON.

But that brings up another interesting question: why then were all those New York liberals, that voted in mass for Obama, RUNNING IN TERROR from an overflight by his 747 toy the other day?

Posted by: Yoop at April 29, 2009 1:40 PM

I was reading some bloggers comments on other sites regarding the photo op flyover and one in particular was rather informative, if the bloggers observations were indeed correct.

The blogger stated that the F16 was in "intercept" flight position NOT "escort" flight position. The blogger went on to theorize that perhaps the photo op was a less embarrassing excuse than the possibility that someone actually did hi-jack AF1 or take it out for a joy ride without permission.

There is something very odd about this whole incident. If it was known that the "top secret" flight which, as pointed out, would not be a secret the moment it flew over NYC was given the green light anyway, is a sinister, stupid, and unnecessary(photoshop) plan in my view.

Posted by: No-One at April 29, 2009 1:48 PM

"As for what batshit crazy right whingers think...who cares!"

Then why are you here and continue to come here you stupid f*ck? Do you think anyone will miss you?

"But that brings up another interesting question: why then were all those New York liberals, that voted in mass for Obama, RUNNING IN TERROR from an overflight by his 747 toy the other day?"

I've been thinking that same thing since yesterday. Is it possible that BO and co. have inadvertently rekindled that old feeling of fear that's been absent because GWB’s success on this file? This f'up is a potential game-changer. It can change people's perception in NY about their safety, and hopefully it will have people looking more closely at how the government is handling national security.

As they say: don't let a good crisis go to waste.

Posted by: Indiana Homez at April 29, 2009 2:26 PM

Some people have been musing about who might have been on the plane. My guess, NYC's new king Mark Sanchez.

Posted by: Indiana Homez at April 29, 2009 2:28 PM

Since this was a "Man Caused Disaster", does it
equate to "Waterboarding" ? Could the political party in charge, then be brought up on charges as
at Gitmo ? Only terror and angst were involved.

Posted by: tertius at April 29, 2009 2:42 PM

How long did they think it was going to be a secret? What a screeching 747 and a fighter jet flying low overhead isn't a dead giveaway? Jerks!

"John,

Just cause you're stupid enough to believe imbeciles doesn't make your delusions true." -- keyword: delusions

For instance, John says that Bush lied on "Countless occasions", but I guarantee you that he will not be able to come up with an actual quote, in Bush's words, not somebody who once worked for the campaign in South Bend, Indiana or whatever, but Bush's actual words, that is a lie. He will not be able to come up with one.

Further ground rules John, to disagree with you is not to lie.

Happy hunting, this should be *so* easy for you.

Posted by: tim in vermont at April 29, 2009 3:37 PM

Predicted Response from John:

One: He will provide a link to some site where logic is tortured and quotes are dowdlerized and claim he has done it. Not good enough, you go to the site yourself John and clip the quote and paste it here as your claim of a lie. Otherwise we would have to answer every claim on your link. Which is a waste of time. You give us the strongest, most evil, lie.

Two, he will reject the challenge and ask a rhetorical question.

Three, he will copy some huge piece of text full of eye glazing leftard rhetoric. Won't read it John, we need a single sentence or paragraph in Bush's words that have been proven to be a lie.

Four: He will slink away and turn up on some future thread.

Five: He will say it is "not worth his time" to argue with us rightards.

Obama blast the CEO's for flying in on private jets. Then fool let's his kids take AF1 for a joy ride around NY and scare the heck out of hundreds and costing thousands.

The best part of all, this was on day 99 of the Obama great 100 days. LOL

Obama needs to look into the mirror.

Posted by: Dustoff at April 29, 2009 4:53 PM

How's about when he said: "We don't torture"

But I guess you could say the same thing for the Khmer Rouge:

http://www.tompaine.com/upload/Waterboard3-small.jpg

Nope... that's not torture. It's just "coercive interrogation".

And let's just forget the whole reason the US went to war. Now I know, you'll claim that the intelligence supported that, save for the fact that the intelligence was cherry picked, AND that it is becoming clear that the Americans tortured the answers they wanted out of people to support the case for war.

But keep on keepin on. You're right... your guy wasn't a complete failure.

Posted by: John at April 29, 2009 5:13 PM

Our guy is Canadian prime minister Stephen Harper.

I also know that while there have not been any terrorist attacks in the first 100 days, Obama has emboldened enough people with his continued cow towing to virtually assure one will happen.

Posted by: Kursk at April 29, 2009 5:57 PM

I think what is going on now in the US is a repeat, if I may make the analogy, of what led to the American Revolution.

I'd compare Obama to King George III, who expects the people to pay for 'his agenda'. George's agenda was war with the French; Obama's agenda is an extreme socialist state.

But the American people fought back against Britain and King George III's agenda - and they'll fight back against a similar agenda of Obama's.

Why similar? Because both are top-down, authoritarian agendas which reduce the power of the people to act as free individuals. Obama is mounting a deliberate attack against the American middle class just as the British reduced the power of the colonial America to..well, to colonials.

Obama's evident denigration of America, his disdain for the middle class, and his requirement that all accept his authority - very similar to that of George III. It's time for another American Revolution.

Warwick you said it. The thing about New Orleans --enough money has been raised, donated, appropriated to build that sh*thole brand spankin new , levees and all but that would defeat the purpose of having an ever handy prime example of racist/Bush/whitey/ indifference to poor blacks. Why ruin a good white racist guilt goldmine?

9.3 trillion dollars in debt in 100 days during a time of depression and dollar fragility, has to be some kind of record.

200 years ago they didn't hand out media accolades for this kind of malfeasant insanity... they boiled tar, plucked chickens, readied a splinter-delivering cedar rail and treated the errant official to the real infamy he deserved..... some populist traditions merit revival in the age of the besotted kleptocrat.

I'm watching the president's asshatting with . . . no surprise.

He's just said that nothing's really troubled him, except that change comes slowly.

What a dangerous, full of himself dissembler this Big egO is.

Scary.

Usually, I choose not to listen to this hypocrite. But I'm listening tonight and this little man has said more than enough to hang himself, politically and ethically, for those who have ears to hear.

I'm waiting, with pleasure, to hear intelligent types, like Charles Krauthammer, rip Obama's gossamer garbage to shreds. (Much less said by this preening peacock would actually help such a pretentious pretender.)

Kyrie eleison.

Like I said John, you chose call it a lie when he said something you disagreed with. I don't consider coercive interrogation torture. Sorry, I don't. This does not make me a liar. Bush does not consider it torture. You do. He disagrees with you and so you call him a liar.

Torture is what Saddam did in those rooms he had in every town in Iraq. Torture is raping an opponents entire family in front of his eyes.

This is torture John.

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/iraq/article1128320.ece

To use the same word to describe this as to describe the harsh interrogation techniques that the Bush administration used, and which Obama has not forsworn BTW, is to stretch the definition of the word beyond recognition.

There is nothing in that story that has Bush denying that harsh interrogation techniques were used. In fact, he acknowledges it.

You said that Bush lied constantly. How about a case where he said something he knew not to be true? That is the definition of a lie.

Posted by: tim in vermont at April 30, 2009 8:30 AM

John, here is a good example of an actual lie jsut yesterday from Obama:

"let's not play games and pretend that the reason [for the deficit] is because of the Recovery Act."

The stimulus package spent an additional trillion dollars, *this year*, without having any way to pay for it. In other words, it was a trillion dollars in spending of money *we don't have* at the moment. Borrowed money. Money for which bonds have to be sold. A trillion dollars in *deficit spending*.

That is what a lie looks like. Obama tells them all the time.

Posted by: tim in vermont at April 30, 2009 8:39 AM

Check out this graphic John, the tell me that Obama meant it when he said during the campaign that he is not a liar:

http://pajamasmedia.com/instapundit/77675/

"Now, what I've done throughout this campaign is to propose a net spending cut." - Obama the pathological liar, Third Debate.
