Hey, Americans? Why don't you do a rerun of that 1776 thingy, before it's too late.

Posted by: Tenebris at April 8, 2009 2:44 PM

As much as a I think Obama is a clown, I think that shows poor taste. The Turks have a racist streak and Obama thinks he can unclench their perpetually shaking fists.
Know thy enemy.

Oh, no. You must be mistaken, Kate, wearing blackface in Turkey must be a sign of great respect.

It's not possible for Turks to be racist. They're swarthy-looking people.

This is the nature of appeasement. You concede to the other side, which is never happy until you concede more. After a time, you have nothing left to give. All the while, the other side mocks you for your efforts.

Obama is a Jive Turkey...

Posted by: RFC at April 8, 2009 4:22 PM

"Which brings us to the even bigger problem: Obama has no idea what's going on in Turkey. By going to Ankara on his knees, he gave his seal of approval to a pungently anti-American Islamist government bent on overturning Mustapha Kemal's legacy of the separation of mosque and state."

This is wishful thinking, and the best case scenario. The worst case scenario, which looks more likely every time Obama opens his mouth, is he knows exactly what he’s doing in Turkey, Europe and everywhere else.

Somewhere far away is Al Jolson a smilin.

I agree with Tenebris. Time to get back to basics, 1776 style.

true , the great organizer did more of a curtsie.

if GWB had done that it would have been all over the TV like ugly on an ape.

Posted by: cal2 at April 8, 2009 9:49 PM

why is the guy on the left picture looking like Al Jolson?

Posted by: cal2 at April 8, 2009 10:21 PM

That NAFTA comment is clever. What will we trade - sunny beaches for snow?

I'm with you Indiana Homez, what has this fellow done every where he's gone, in every statement he makes? He breaks things up and gets the infighting going. Turn everybody against everybody or turning around and asking everybody else to take the first step and there will be no "1776" revolt or even an organized criticism. Keep them all guessing as to what exactly he's about and/or his motives, intelligence, and sanity, provide enough distractions, and the radar gets mighty clouded.

Might as well sit back with the bucket of popcorm, these are interesting times. Nothing and nobody seem to be willing or able to put a check, much less a halt on this guy -- karma has a viscious sense of humor.
