Foxnews - Mystery Shrouds Kidnap of Pro-Jihadist Canadian Activist by Pakistani Extremists

Rees dismisses the idea that Qahaar [Giesebrecht] is working with the Taliban and that the kidnapping is a hoax intended to raise money. The videos confirm that Qahaar is in real trouble, he says."

I wondered about the hoax bit.

But a should she be pro jihadist...then not offering money or anything should be an acceptable negotiation strategy.

Here is another one just for you.

Are they going to video the beheading? Will we get to watch it on You Tube? I sure hope so. I like it when traitors get their just desserts.

I have seen this woman's porcine face before. She looked a lot healthier then. I secretly put a curse on her. Looks like it worked. Not that I believe in curses.

Ironic. Now, this pro-Jihadi "journalist" is in the same position faced by those "peace acitivists" who went to Iraq in 2003 to act as human shields for possible Iraqi targets by the Coalition.

Saddam had a group of them arrested and locked up in a jail in Mosul. After their release, they related stories of being able to hear the screams of other prisoners being tortured by Saddam's secret police.

It's not known if these "peace activists" consequently had their "moment of clarity" (as AA describes alcoholics who finally realize their sickness) and decided that there actually are evil people in the world who must be confronted and defeated by force.

Here's a pair of questions to ask of all leftist pacifists:

1. If you were captured by Al Qaeda or Taliban Jihadis and being threatened with ransom or death, who would you want to try to rescue you (choose one)?

A. John Lennon and Yoko Ono.
B. Jack Layton and Iggy.
C. Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi.
C. A team of "journalists" from the CBC, Globe & Wail and the NY Times.
D. A Western Military Special Forces team, such as from JTF2, USA Green Berets, British Army SAS.

2. What are the reasons for your choice?

Posted by: Dave in Pa. at April 6, 2009 12:08 PM

"Who cares?" Not me.

I take exception to all these media outlets referring to these "people" as Canadians. All over the news, lately, is the story of 2 Canadians, about to be beheaded in Saudi Arabia. If it's so damned easy to become a Canadian, it should be just as easy to undo that status.

Posted by: dp at April 6, 2009 12:11 PM

Posted by: Rick at April 6, 2009 12:12 PM

Kate your post is titled wrong. It should read: "Khadija Abdul Qahar".

That is now her legal name.

Posted by: Ardvark at April 6, 2009 12:13 PM

NOT ONE PENNY FOR HER RELEASE!

She sounds like a complete idiot. Lets go to perhaps the most dangerous place on the planet without PLANS A, B and C for getting the hell out of dodge. RAN OUT OF MONEY TO LEAVE THE PLACE? Stay. Spend your own damn money to get out. Send donations to let her leave. Jeezzzus!

Where did her money go to get her there? Did she give aid and comfort to the Taliban and Al-Q?

IF we secure her release, we should sue her for the diplomats/military time, including the Pakistanis.

Last question...How much do we have to pay them to keep her and let her live as a true muslim woman? May be money better spent.

If I recall correctly, when business people are kidnapped by leftist guerrillas in South America, they expect payment form the companies those being held work for.
So in that respect shouldn't Al Jazeera be paying the ransom? Why should my government be expected to use money collected from us to pay for someone who put their own life in danger to write stories that condemn the very people she now expects to pay for her release?

There seem to be too many Canadians of "convenience" these days. When it's a legimate case of one travelling abroad and getting nabbed then maybe government action is called for. When openly siding with and assisting terrorist, no matter what the form, that is treason and citizenship should be stripped. "No soup for you"

Are all the Mosques in Canada taking up a collection to pay her ransom? I haven't heard of anything like that, but ....

The woman turned her back on us, jumped into bed with our enemies, and now wants US to help!

Not a cent of infidel money should be spent for her. If Islamics figure she's important enough, let them pay the ransom.

Where does CAIR and the other Muslim organizations stand on this, or are they content to sit back while the good old Canadian taxpayer foots the bill?

Have there been any interviews with her friends or family? That would be her friends from before her new enlightened beliefs. I'm thinking there are a lot of "I told you so's" hanging in the air right now.

And I'm sure CBC has already drawn up a contract for her should she get released.

Posted by: gord at April 6, 2009 1:07 PM

" it just doesn't make sense that they would threaten to kill her unless they get money, when she's been such use to them spreading their word in the Western world."

This should serve as a warning to anyone that would make political allies with those that think they are sub-human. Someone said something about feeding crocs.

This woman is "pro Jihad" which means to me that she is a self admitted enemy of Canada and she condones military action against Canada and its citizens. It will be a happy day when her head rolls off of her shoulders.

Posted by: Indiana Homez at April 6, 2009 1:13 PM

As long as she was safely in Canada, she posted article after article on her website, praising jihadism and denouncing our government and way of life.
Now that her fanatical friends are holding her hostage and threatening to kill her, she's suddenly begging our government for help?
The term 'idiot' doesn't even begin to describe this woman.

Regardless of what happens to her a lesson will be delivered to the nutbars. Swallowing the Kool-Aid doesn't make them hate you less for being a westerner (and a woman), and they'll still try to kill you - sympathizers beware.

Or if she's rescued, she might have the intelligence enough to smarten up and renounce her ways publicly, sending a message to the nutters.

Then again she could be so far gone that she'll defend her captors if she's freed, which is unfortunately a very real possibility.

I suspect it won't be too long before they begin offering us money to take her back.

Posted by: sabre0 at April 6, 2009 3:31 PM

One more thing...about the judge's son that married the Khadr woman. How was he introduced to her? Was it an arranged marriage? Were they allowed to socialize prior to the marriage? Did he convert to Islam? A bunch more questions come to mind.

Posted by: Gus at April 6, 2009 3:32 PM

No, I don't believe for a moment that she's acting; her life really is in danger. However, this woman actively worked for the jihadi cause, and undoubtedly thought her fellow jihadis would welcome her with open arms.
I agree with Mark that if she ever does return, the chances are very good that she'll defend her captors and find some justification for their actions, simply because people hate admitting that they've made a fool of themselves. The more fanatical you are (and you can't get any more fanatical than the jihadis), the more difficulit it is to admit that your ideas were wrong and that you made a colossal error of judgment.

Posted by: Barbara at April 6, 2009 3:42 PM

She is the kind of woman who falls in love with murderers and attend their trials and marries them from outside of prison and defends them from every charge of guilt forever. She was on her way to find Osama so he could love her and validate her totally empty soul. She is a sad kind of crazy. Her ransom, if paid, could well be returned to us in the form of dead soldiers in flag draped boxes. I think it is a scam anyway.

Oh sure, the islamist fell all over Bev the dummy at first, she probably believed they welcomed her, made her feel like she was one of them. Little did the stupid bitch know that is not how islam works. She is damaged goods, tainted by freedom and thought, not fit to be welcomed into the islamic fold. Why should we care?!

I am absolutely ashamed to think that as a so-called Westerner, I would be linked to a group of people like you. Have you bothered to watch the most recent video in which she is clearly pleading for help, for her life? To avoid being BEHEADED?!? How on this earth can ANY of you pretend to be better than the people you stand against when you so easily decide that this woman 'deserves what she gets'...? That she deserves to be executed? So she converted to Islam, changed her name, and started a pro-Jihadi website...how many of you have run around posting about the injustice of having our rights and freedoms infringed on in the name of anti-terrorism? As far as I can tell, the woman has committed no crime. You don't have to like her beliefs, but it's her right to have them. And do tell me, if we're now meant to condemn people to death who support the opposition, at what point do we become the very thing we're fighting against?

"It will be a happy day when her head rolls off of her shoulders..." You should be horrified to have those thoughts. I know I find it terrifying to think my allies do.

Regardless of whether she is in this situation by virtue of bad judgment, moral ineptitude or whatever, I can't help but wonder if those who sincerely laugh over her predicament are all that different from those who would cheer over there as her throat is cut. I am appalled at some of the comments here. Respectfully, I would be ashamed if I had set this up with the question "who cares?"
