I'm SHOCKED at BCL.

Well ok, not really.

Posted by: AtlanticJim at March 22, 2009 4:18 PM

not funny at all.....awfuuly sad-making though to think someone would attempt to trivialize the reason these rebs were meeting...

but i CAN tell you what IS hilarious viewing....it's super duper K-man apologizing for slurring the Chinese....i tell you i can't watch the dim fuk dum guy enough as he CRAWLS in abject apology...with his pasty mick pudding face and those sneaky evasive eyes of his darting about....i can't BELIEVE this buffoon considers himself 'punk'......

Posted by: john begley at March 22, 2009 4:21 PM

Again I say, I love it when the useful idiots of the Left say what they are actually thinking. Its so... instructive.

Posted by: The Phantom at March 22, 2009 4:23 PM

Really Phantom? Instructive?

There has not been an original thought out of them in decades. Haven't we seen all the variations by now?

Posted by: AtlanticJim at March 22, 2009 4:25 PM

BCL is a whoopee cushion masquerading as a blog; he's just waiting to exhale.

Posted by: Hannibal Lectern at March 22, 2009 4:33 PM

This just again proves where the Nazis fall on the political spectrum, THE LEFT SIDE!!!.

Posted by: Joel Schroeder at March 22, 2009 4:43 PM

Settle down people.

I sure this has nothing to do with:

1. The fact that PMSH, through his strong and principled support of Israel, is drawing Jewish support away from the Liberals.

2. The fact that anti-Israeli and anti-Jewish sentiment is currently running at a fever pitch amongst urban atheists in western countries.

It just a "joke".

Posted by: Bart F. at March 22, 2009 4:45 PM

Pffffftttttt....opppssss.That wasn't BCL.Ridicule the ridculous.....for all you lefties out there that don't get it.

Posted by: Vitruvius at March 22, 2009 4:54 PM

Hey, BCL just wants all the Jews to get onto the Liberal train.

Posted by: andycanuck at March 22, 2009 5:03 PM

Modern Liberal ideology, intolerance, bigotry, ignorance and tyranny. Bow before your liberal masters or else they'll creat a crisis to force you to your knees.

Well to be fair BCL doesn't he think Christians are contemptable? I guess he's added Jews to the same list, will next week be the week he mocks Islam?

Posted by: Rose at March 22, 2009 5:11 PM

I don't get it. What is BCL's point? What am I missing here?

The beards and dress? That's a cultural mode of one set of orthodox Judaism. So? What about the Amish, the Mennonites, and many Islamics who also insist on specific dress codes. And beards. So, what is BCL's point?

Oh - and another thing I don't get (I know it's Sunday) but I don't get the chortling over the 'outing of Blazing Cat Fur. Since when is a blog required to be under the blog author's name rather than a pseudonym? What about BCL's blog? It took an outsider to eventually figure out who he was; BCL certainly didn't offer his 'real name'. What about Dr. Dawg? He remains unknown to all except a few who have figured it out.

As for BCL and the comments on his blog, which include some child saying that 'if you dress or look different then you should expect to be laughed at' - that comment belongs in the elementary school room; it's not a mature adult who wrote that. So- what's BCL's point?

Posted by: ET at March 22, 2009 5:38 PM

I believe the point is on the top of his head.

Posted by: paddyk at March 22, 2009 5:43 PM

Its the selectiveness of it all. At one point this would have been unthinkable from Mr Murphy, as it would be if you were from the Liberals favoured groups.

Got any good jokes about any of the three leaders and what they wear when they go to the Sikh celebrations?

Mr Murphy...he's here all week, oh and try the veal.

Posted by: Stephen at March 22, 2009 5:43 PM

Don't the zed's on ZZ Top look suspiciously like invereted lightning bolts? You know where i'm going here ....code?

Posted by: Agent Smith at March 22, 2009 5:52 PM

Well, personally, ET, I think that men who on a daily basis shave off
their facial fur are slightly silly. Certainly Aristotle, Archimedes,
Da Vinci, and Mendelev would agree with me. It is, I think, all King
Camp Gilette's fault, you know, back in 1905; well, that and silly men.

Posted by: Vitruvius at March 22, 2009 5:58 PM

Vit I was thinking 'Waiting For The Bus' as a hex on WK when the sediment settles. Kinda his future I'm hopin.'

Posted by: Speedy at March 22, 2009 6:02 PM

It isn't scratch and sniff is it?

Posted by: Stephen at March 22, 2009 6:04 PM

ET
Do you have law degree?

Posted by: speed at March 22, 2009 6:11 PM

AtlanticJim, what I mean by "instructive" is the contrast between the Official Line and the unguarded moment.

The contrast is, shall we say, large.

Posted by: The Phantom at March 22, 2009 6:14 PM

Actually, Speedy, I tend to think of this classic tune on those rare
occasions when someone reminds me of He Who Shall Not Be Named.

Posted by: Vitruvius at March 22, 2009 6:14 PM

Heh, vitruvius, I've seen a picture of you. I will refrain from comment.

But if we are into 'Dressing the Body' - I recall a museum display I did for my students one time, about how we humans define ourselves not as individuals but instead as members of a group, by paint and dress and other things.

That includes the various metal appendages worn by our 'rebellious youth' in their ears, nose, eyelids and etc.
And of course, tattoos.
Oh, and certain tribes extend their necks by gradually adding 'rings' around their necks. And some extend their lips; they slice the lip and insert wooden plate-like inserts.
Others paint their faces (no, I don't mean Mac and Revlon and Shiseido)..particularly the men, during ceremonial dances.

Others wear special clothing during ceremonies; special hats..on and on and on.

It's quite fascinating how people create specific images of their bodies to define membership in a specific group.

That's what puzzles me about BCL. He's missed this basic fact of all human behaviour - that we 'dress ourselves' to identify ourselves, and he has instead, moved into a childish and ignorant attack on 'if you look different then you are ..bad'. Weird.

Small potatoes compared to Kady O'Malley's blog at macleans.ca, easily the most anti-semitic blog in Canada:

"the sayanim are out in force today! It’s adorable....And as for the sayanim chirping about how Government can ban anyone they don’t like, go read a civics textbook. No, they can’t."

You should have seen what it looked like before I complained and they cleaned it up. Keep an eye on this one.

www2.macleans.ca/2009/03/20/and-the-award-for-quickest-opposition-response-to-the-galloway-ban-goes-to/comment-page-1/#comments

* "Sayanim (Hebrew: "helpers") is a term used to describe Jews living outside Israel who volunteer to provide assistance to the Mossad. This assistance includes facilitating medical care, money, logistics, and even overt intelligence gathering, yet sayanim are only paid for their expenses. No official number is known, but estimates put the number of sayanim in the thousands."

Just waiting for his post where he pokes fun at people who wear turbins.

Posted by: Barbara at March 22, 2009 6:31 PM

Perhaps he meant ZZZ Top, the zionist band not the Jews. (who he respects as much as he respects Chinese food)

Eeeeuuuuu :-( I don't know what is worse; following a link to bib city lib or to KW's blog.

Yes and no, ET. It's just that that whole kind of shaving off my own fur every day with a surgical steel razor thing slightly puts me off. There is, I think you must agree, a difference between adding something that otherwise would not be there (such as makeup), and taking away something that otherwise would be there (such as a beard, assuming it's not malignant, of course ;-)

No sense. No sense at all. It's sad, really.

Posted by: Vitruvius at March 22, 2009 7:00 PM

"How do human beings usually announce an altered identity? By changing the way they wear their hair. Men who wanted to be ruthlessly modern shaved their skulls, like the Russian revolutionary poet Vladimir Mayakovsky or Johannes Itten, an instructor at the Bauhaus in Weimar. In the hirsute nineteenth century, sages - aspiring to the shagginess of Old Testament prophets - grew beards."

fundamental difference between addition and subtraction?

bcl: everybody's crazy bout a sharp-dressed schlemoyuhl-hole

Posted by: rzr at March 22, 2009 7:33 PM

A bit off topic but it'll make BCL's head explode.

First off I'm hoping you politicians are watching and see that the majority of Canadians want this scrapped and even though the poll is in early stages you must remember that it is a daily poll and if 75% or more want it then make it so.....
Hi all,
CFAX 1070 has an online poll today about whether to can the long gun registry or not ….. take ten seconds and go vote …!
(So far it’s standing at about 78% in favour of killing the long gun registry program)
Use the link to go to the radio station home page, look in the top right hand corner for the button to get to the poll of the day, click on the link and then you can vote by ticking the circle on the left …

Cheers,
Al

403 vs 98: scrapit

Posted by: eastern paul at March 22, 2009 8:26 PM

The pseudo argument that police always check the registry before responding to a house call, so the registry serves a useful purpose is always brought up.

Yet most of the gang related shootings, home invasions and drive-bys involve unregistered weapons, wielded by repeat offenders who should be locked up instead of being free to roam the streets.

But Liberalthink pervades the media, trying to convince us that licensing guns will eliminate crime, much like licensing automobiles will prevent automobile accidents...

Posted by: Alienated at March 22, 2009 9:10 PM

Leftist groupthink mandates that objects are to blame for society's ills. All guns bad. If they said some guns are ok it would defocus the campaign and open up a debate that would permit discussion. Same thing with "global warming". It is the chosen instrument to unite the world and fight against bad industry and capitalism. Cars "go out of control". Drivers no longer "lose control".

Posted by: Sgt Lejaune at March 22, 2009 9:47 PM

The hit-count at the Registry site is also vastly overexaggerated by not giving the single visitor hits but by treating all page click-throughs etc. as separate hits/visits.

bcl: where knee meets jerk.

Posted by: Hannibal Lectern at March 22, 2009 11:34 PM

This gun-control agenda is justified frequently as somehow making things safer for women----based vaguely on Ghamil Gharbi's outrage---an islamofascist attack.....

And yet when I enquire:

How is a woman who has been raped and murdered morally superior to the woman standing over a dead rapist with a smoking gun?

Then they shift-ground by babbling about how dangerous handguns are----which logic and practicE are really classed as DEFENSIVE WEAPONS.

Posted by: sasquatch at March 23, 2009 12:49 AM

BigCesspoolLib strikes again ...

The issue, of course, is not whether the caption is funny, but whether the Cesspool and his filthy hangers-on would be criticizing if something similar were posted here or on other "right-wing" blogs. And you know they would be screaming about it.

Some of the comments over there at least are funny, like the last one:

"so when can we expect to see some cartoons of the Prophet Mohammad?"

Posted by: nv53 at March 23, 2009 3:05 AM

I read a while ago that the gun registry does a search whether it is requested or not. That inplies that officers are requesting the searches but is really the registry trying to have numbers that validate it's existence. I have some experience with the thought process.

Posted by: Speedy at March 23, 2009 10:22 AM

Suck it up princess!

At first I didn't get what all the fuss was about, I thought it was ZZ-Top.

Sometimes the lameness around here is staggering. If you look funny, you get mocked. Period.

Posted by: Indiana Homez at March 23, 2009 12:36 PM

Indiana, missing the point dude. Think what would happen if Kate or Kathy Shaidle posted that exact same thing.

BOOM.

Nuclear sh!t storm, baby. For a month.

Posted by: The Phantom at March 23, 2009 2:24 PM

No Phantom that is exactly the point. Conservatives spend so much time and energy saying "It's not fair" that we keep getting our arses kicked. I think their all funny, Colbert, Stewart and Mahr, why? Because I'm not some old fart who is pissed off that the music listened to in the 80's is irrelevant, and I'm not going to let some conservative hypocrite tell me that I can't say b**ch. Conservatives need to focus on how to bring younger voters in their tent, not chastising others for making jokes(regardless of political stripes). Do you see the paradox?

It's these same old farts that have let PC get to where it is today. So no, I won't prescribe to what the older generation says is okay to say or joke about, considering THEY are the ones that bent over and let the left screw us for decades.

Posted by: Indiana Homez at March 23, 2009 6:53 PM

"i'm not going to let some conservative...tell me that i can't say b**tch;" are you positively, absolutely, one-hundred percent, unequivocally sure about that?

Posted by: rzr at March 23, 2009 7:51 PM

See my blog Indiana. I think we pretty much agree, I'm just not about to let the Lefties off without a smack. 'cause they are stupid bastiges and they p me off.

Posted by: The Phantom at March 23, 2009 7:55 PM

"I read a while ago that the gun registry does a search whether it is requested or not."

Are you trying to start with me? Look at me. Look at me! You think those people are going to jeopardize $2 billion because you start asking some questions? I think you'd just better shut up, mister.
