"It's like the Special Olympics or something"

Already stinging over DVDgate, White House officials called a hastily arranged news conference Thursday evening to announce that the doors of the White House bowling alley had been thrown open to the DC Chapter of the American Quadriplegic Association.

Update: Lay off, you stupid right-wingers! Get a sense of humour.

para14-16.jpg

Upperdate! SDA gets results premonitions! - "Before the taped interview had even aired, the president telephoned the Special Olympics chairman Tim Shriver from Air Force One to apologise and invite some of the association's bowlers to the White House to show him how it was done."

While in the US on buisness this past fall every time the topic came up my response was "Who ever wins there will be a new election in 4 years" reason being I assumed John would kick the bucket in the next 4 years and that surely Big O couldn't keep the charade up for that long. You mean a Jr Senator of a corrupt state isn't prepared to play with the big boys? WOW we are all surprised.

The DVD thing has gotten better, apparently the DVD's are all region encoded so they won't play in the UK...

The most amazing thing is how the media plays this, if Bush had snubbed a world leader by hitting the walmart on the way to the meeting, he would be an embarrassment but to most of the media big O's shit smells like cupcakes.

Exactly, DanBC - for Obama, someone who cannot handle being questioned, criticized, argued with - when this happens, he'll flee to a situation where he is surrounded by drooling, fawning adoration.

He psychologically requires this; he can't handle any situation where he feels that the people around him aren't submissive to him.

He'll lie, he'll misinform, he'll manipulate emotions using fear and hope - and, he'll divide the people, he'll set them up to fight each other rather than criticize him.

As I've said, Obama could have dealt with the AIG bonus payments, which are signed contracts made before bailout payments in two ways. But both had to be immediate, from his administration and open. He could have told Americans that the current bonuses HAD to be paid because they were legal contracts and he is sworn to defend the Law. And he could have said that any future bailouts would include a 'minimal' to no bonus clause.

Instead, he actually claimed ignorance of the issue - when he most certainly knew. He feigned 'anger' and 'outrage' when his emotions were only outrage that he might be blamed for it and fear that he was losing control of how people adore him.

And he fled to sycophantic spas - to a Town Hall meeting in California meeting a handpicked crowd who all swear to adore him..(hate to say this but this reminds me of another Hussein, who had a video posted on the news before the American invasion, which showed him standing in a public square and 'ordinary citizens' (heh) coming up, adoring him, kissing his hand)...

And fled to a TV show, again, where he can perform, where he can charm, where no-one asks him critical questions.

He's going to be doing this more and more. And he's going to incite Americans to hate each other - the poor vs the rich, the left vs the right, ....more and more. That deflects criticism from him..and he can stand above and gently chide them, as he did today in California, and tell them not to fight each other.

Posted by: Arty at March 19, 2009 10:33 PM

It's sort of like Kinsella's Cataquiddick. Barack does all sorts of godawful things, then gets in trouble for a hardly off-colour at all, human-type joke. (Okay, he should have had more sense than to say it on Leno. You see how much he needs that teleprompter?)

Posted by: Black Mamba at March 19, 2009 10:40 PM

What would the press say if Bush had said something like this? Betcha with Obama they say nothing.

Posted by: Pandora at March 19, 2009 10:46 PM

Obama also told Leno that he was stunned, absolutely stunned, to hear about those AIG bonuses.

Now wait a minute. Those were specifically referred to in the 787 billion dollar 'stimulus package' that he, Obama, insistined on rushing through Congress or 'the sky would fall'..and this bill was signed, signed, signed, by Obama.

So what are we to conclude? The reference to bonuses was specifically in the Bill. Are we to conclude that a Bill of this size and importance - as Obama stressed repeatedly that it was - was not read by this 'President'? He didn't read it? He didn't ask questions of his Treasury Office if there was something he didn't understand?

After all, he already broke his campaign promises that each and every bill would be posted on a public site for several days before being voted on, and before being signed.
And he broke his promise that each and every line of these bills would be gone over, line by line, to check for their functionality.
And he broke his duty that the Congress would be required to READ the bill before he insisted, and demanded, that it be signed. His deadline gave Congress no time to read the bill.

And then, Obama professes surprise! He, who signed the bill, didn't know about these bonuses! He said that he'd do 'everything' to get the money back. Now wait - that money was part of a legal contract. Is Obama seriously suggesting that he would violate American law and the constitution?

Appearing on Leno's show is not like being criticized and questioned. Obama avoids any such situations. Obama appeared in the California Town Hall to 'suck up' his required adultation and adoration from the handpicked crowd. He, psychologically, needs adoration. And he appeared on Leno's show for the same thing..adoration and a public manipulation of the American people. So he could tell them that he was 'shocked' just shocked at hearing about those bonuses. In the bill that he signed. And didn't bother to read.

Notice that Obama avoids any and all press conferences where the questions are not prescripted and his answers are not prepared and on the teleprompter.

Oh, and during his flight from work, Obama also was on ESPN - talking about...basketball. And he'll be on 60 minutes, also prescripted. And a news conference next Tuesday. Watch that - and watch how the questions will be prescripted and watch his teleprompter answers.

Americans are the ones who are gradually, becoming shocked..at what has happened..and what they voted in as 'president'...someone who is not merely incompetent but who can deeply harm them and their country.

Here is a message from Mr. Subliminal that should calm some of these fears ...

As a long-time observer of the American political scene, I have been asked to comment on President Obama (Hugo Chavez on crack). Some right-wing (sensible) critics have gone as far as to suggest that he has violated the constitution (no brainer) by hiding his foreign birth (pick a country).

I happen to believe he is qualified to be president (when all other living Americans have died in a plague) and has a considerable grasp of economics (can make change from a dollar). He is also a master of communication (as long as someone else wrote the speech) and has a broad vision of America's place in the world (pile of ashes).

He will no doubt bring peace to the Middle East (global holocaust) and reverse the terrible ravages of climate change (no more mild winters).

We can look forward to a long period of prosperity and innovation (as a colony of China) and it is quite conceivable that Obama will prove to be so popular that further elections will not be necessary (Biden tells me) as The One becomes elevated to the status of Lord of All (Michelle was saying) and Benefactor Supremex (made that one up myself).

Ever since selective abortions(aborting non-normal babies)has become popular with the leftoids, a real elitism has developed vis/a/vis the mentally handicapped.

Witness what happened with Palin and her down's son.

It is nothing but pure bigotry, in it's most vilest of forms.

Posted by: kingstonlad at March 20, 2009 8:14 AM

Do you think he's lying about not knowing about the Bonuses in the Bill he signed, or do you think he really just didn't read the thing?

Does that matter? Either he's a pathological liar (which seems to be developing into his MO) or he doesn't care enough to read the legislation he's signing.

Sorry, but if *I* were president, I would read legislation that crossed my desk and - more to the point - demand that legislation not be longer than the Bible so the task is manageable. Any bill that I couldn't read in a timely manner would get a veto until they got it right.

On the bright side, we have - what, 19 months or so until the 2010 midterms - and the next presidential election is in 2012.

Now I know Obama and his drooling adorers are going to try to figure out a way to keep him there, but it won't work.

Every time Obama speaks, he further guarantees he will be a one-term, regrettable, president.

Leftists like Obama get away with each and every offensive comment, whether flippant/brainfarty or deliberate.

Should a non-Leftist make the slightest slip of the tongue, there's always folks like Warrin' Kimsheila listening, ready to use it to demonize the non-Leftist. Whatever can be used, however illogically and irrationally, against a non-Leftist, it WILL. EVERY time.

But folks like, say, Chretien, Clinton and Obama... they can say racist things, derisive things about the homeless, sexist, ageist, etc... and even make fun of persons with disabilities, but they'll be instantly forgiven and defended, as the "Progressive Liberal Left", wholly a-priori, presumes them as "meaning well, not ill", the opposite of how they automatically presume non-Leftists.

Leftists are the biggest hypocrites of all. They give brazen hypocrites like Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Vladimir Putin a run for their money.

He also hires a lot of people with ADD as they seem to forget what they said or did a lot. As for him..I'll let you decide. I had a nightmare last night. I cruised into a drive-thru to get some food, Barney Frank took my order, Pelosi made change and O told me I couldn't have what I wanted but would have to take what I was given. The tab for a tofu burger with potato peels was 500 billion dollars and tire traps in the drive- thru prevented escape.

Posted by: Speedy at March 20, 2009 9:11 AM

Obama himself has an intellectual handicap. He can be good at one thing, like speaking, but, see, he needs a teleprompter to tell him what to say, as he can't think up anything good by himself.

He's basically reading out loud, like a kid from a book in a classroom, only a bit more sophisticated in delivery.

Obama also has a perception-to-comprehension handicap, ie. the inablity to properly mentally process, organize, link-together in relations, connections, interactions, etc., the data his senses deliver to his brain for processing. Whether he can help it or not, that's the question. I believe that most people can help themselves, but they don't know it, or don't know how. Fortunately for me, I had no choice but to build my own ability to think and understand the real world, as I realized that to simply let others tell me what's what who don't know what they're talking about... would just make me screw up a whole lot of stuff all the time for lack of understanding of the reality of things... just like Obama's doing now.

The problem with socialism and the nanny state is that it robs human beings of the imperative requirement to develop their intelligence so as to be enabled to take care of themselves, to survive whatever they'll face in life. Hence the failure of "progressives" to develop mentally, intellectually, psychologically, leading to confusion, weakness, helplessness, dependence, guillibility, susceptibility to doublethinking hypocrisy, willingness to go with the social/political correctness flow even if it hurts minorities who are unpopular with the "progressive" movement/regime/state apparatus/community/subcommunity to which they belong...

Speaking in my highly trained professionally certified and licensed role as a physical therapist, who has worked with the disabled A LOT, I love it when DemocRats actually say what's on their minds. They invariably let slip their utter contempt for the disabled, the poor, Blacks, Whites, anyone who isn't in their little club pretty much.

Because I'll tell you what, every single one of those Special Olympics kids has more heart and bigger stones than Barry the Messiah. Every single one.

Tell you something else, most of the disabled, crippled, smashed, mutilated people I've tried to help over the years do not give a tinker's damn what Barry The Messiah thinks, or what anybody else thinks either. They are busy working.

What makes me particularly pissed about this is it reveals what morally corrupt creatures these Democrats are. Officially they are the Friends of the Disabled, they LOVE the disabled, they feed and clothe and house the disabled, their big big hearts bleed for the disabled. Only the DemocRats can be trusted to take care of your poor helpless disabled kiddies, the Dastardly Republicans will let them starve naked in the gutter!

Unofficially, off the record when nobody important is listening, you get "special Olympics" jokes. Its all bullsh1t, lies to gain political advantage. The instant money for the disabled becomes inconvenient, under the bus they go.

I had an interesting experience a few years ago shortly after the Liberals were elected (Chretien). I was able to their victory affair held in the Parliament buildings and was able to chat with various newly elected members. Reflecting afterwards, I can honestly say that the most impressive human being I met that week was a member of the disabled community -- someone I met in a different context.

I think that "Barry" shows signs of being a rather shallow person -- can anyone picture Abraham Lincoln making such a comment? This man seriously lacks gravitas and I think this will be apparent to everyone before to long.

Posted by: LindaL at March 20, 2009 11:34 AM

I notice that a poster has rightly observed the difference between the Para-Olympics and the Special Olympics. The very first "Physically Disabled Games" in Ontario were at Cambridge in 1975. I took a group down there in a nine seater rented from the YMCA. I had also observed the games for the "Mentally Disabled" at Marquette, Michigan in 1973.

I was quickly appraised at the difference between the two groups. My spouse taught special ed and most students were of average or above intelligence. One of the former students is active in the legal field.
Another does computers and bikes as a business.

Hope this is not too preachy. Somehow I give Barack Obama a pass. Scared of what he intends to do to Western civilization in a sneaky way.

Still, I would give the man a break on this.
He will never bowl as well as Dick Nixon. (laughs)

Gus, Jack:

What incenses most of us is that if Bush had made such a comment, there would be no instant forgiveness from the media, even if he sponsored Special O bowling tournaments across the country in contrition. The howling wolves of the left would be on this for weeks, saying how much it showed that Bush is insensitive, uncaring, and deeply psychologically flawed. Look at the Goodyear situation in Canada; the guy is being pilloried because he has religious beliefs, even though he says they don't interfere with them doing his job. There's a good chance he'll have to resign. But what happened to Hedy Fry with her "burning crosses"? The right went after her, but the issue was dropped after a couple of days by the MSM, because she's on their side.

This is the hypocrisy and double standard that we live with on the right, and that's why we get so infuriated. Capiche?

So, they can bloody well suck it up for the next four years. Obama exploited it, he can wear it.

Posted by: ural at March 20, 2009 1:24 PM

Thank you, Harry, for reminding us about the Left's treatment of Ms. Palin, the mother of a Down's Syndrome boy.

The Left had nothing specific to use against Palin, and there was so much nice, wonderful stuff about her that they just went nuts and demonized her however they could, despite the fact that she's a nice person, far better than many of them, who wouldn't ever knowingly have a baby that wasn't "perfect" as far as they're concerned. The Left is pretty much demonstrating that it's deeply flawed and inferior when it attacks good people like Sarah Palin.

The best parents are those who never give up on their children no matter what. The Left, however, would rather institutionalize the inconvenient amongst us in the community... they'd rather have higher taxes and the government to "take care of" the inconvenient than devote themselved selflessly and lovingly to their own children. (No wonder they demand state-funded "daycare" so they won't really have to raise their own kids, even if they're "perfect"!)

Definitely the Left will claim to be the champions of the disabled... but then again, they want to say they're whatever gets more votes. I notice, by the way, that Leftists pander a lot more to the GLBTs and Islamic community than to ordinary everyday folks who have some sort of inconvenient reality to deal with... I guess "hurt feelings" are more important to Leftists than tangible, material difficulties ("disability" or whatever one wants to call it) which might be eased via some kind of reasonable policy... No wonder Obama prefers to soothe folks with words and lies and vague promises than to actually find out what ordinary folks need him to do as President to help them however he can. Obama, being a communist, is too arrogantly dogmatic to care about the reality of the lives of the People, as he believes that the whole communism thing is the cure-all for whatever may ail whomever. He doesn't want to worry about particulars and thinks he can just delegate the "particulars" to underlings in bureaucracies... that's no good. This is why he's going to make things worse for the People, not better- he just doesn't understand what it's like for the less-fortunate than he is (Barack doesn't really come from much of a "disadvantaged" background, so he doesn't know from that).

Obama's completely out of touch. He delusionally believes that he can handle whatever comes up without even knowing anything about it or what he's doing. Dammit, he doesn't even know how to consult with the appropriate people, much less even get around to appointing them in the first place!

TOTUS: "no comment."
...-

"Special Olympian Challenges Obama in bowling

A bowling phenom in the Special Olympics has just challenged Prez Barack Obama to a White House roll-off ... and he'll probably kick Barack's butt.

Kolan McConiughey, a Special Olympics competitor who has bowled three perfect 300 games, tells TMZ that the Prez has to score a lot higher than 129 to beat him. Kolan says he bowls an average of 266.

Kolan -- who works at a grocery store in Ann Arbor, Mich. -- said he'd love to go to the White House to beat Barack on his own lane. Kolan said, "He's cool, but he can't beat me."

We posed the challenge to the White House. They said "no comment.""

I am no fan of Owebama, but I stand by what I wrote. And if Dubya had said it, I would say exactly the same thing. Believe me, I have had to a few times in the past.

TOTUS is exhibiting his total lack of executive experience. Managerial types take" a code of conduct" course before they lead or instruct anyone on day to day ventures. Teleprompter never got that far in his life experiences, obviously.

The best comment I have read so far comes from a News Busters adherent.........

"Maybe we should all go around and start making jokes about black people and see how far that goes?"

I'm a bit pissed the narcissist boob is getting a pass on this........

ET;

In addition to what you correctly say about Obama and the stimulus package, I also remember him saying that he was going to use the time between election day and his swearing in to have his people craft the legislation so that they could hit the ground running on Jan 20th.

As it turned out, he did nothing at all in the two and a half months leading up to his inauguration, then dumped it off to Pelosi and Reid without so much as even laying out a few broad parameters like telling them he didn't want to see any trade protectionism. Only after the rest of the world started screaming did he step in and reverse those provisions.

The man is completely over his head.

Well thank God Sarah Palin is not anywhere near Washington with her promisses to be an advocate for the disabled.
As a father of a special needs daughter there is one thing I'd like to say to Obamass: you piece of shit dead-beat niger...ooops, did I say that out loud. I would now like to make a moving apology. Sorry, dude...oops, here is the bone you had through your nose, it fell out.

Come on, it's okay because he is a liberal, a progressive, and a Democrat. Really, you guys are making a mountain out of a mole hill. Now, if Don Imus had been on Leno and called the some college women's basketball team nappy headed, that would be fair game, cause, like he is old, white and kind of a cranky conservative.

thank you Barry for bringing it back. Now i can feel okay again calling people retards.

I have a couple of other sayings i would like you to say also....

The Fresh Prez of Bill Ayers is in WAY over his head. He has no executive experience; he's never even run a lemonade stand. His foreign policy actions are downright scary. He's a poor speaker without his trusty teleprompter (remember Urkel's debacle in the Rick Warren interview/debate?).

He strikes me as arrogant, someone who has had everything handed to him in life. He also seems to have a narcissistic personality.

He's dangerous.

well actually, Kate

Weren't Bush's "Bushisms" actually viewed with affection by his followers - sort of "Well maybe he isn't slick and can't talk fancy like all those smarty-pants smoothies but he's a decent, sincere guy with the common touch, etc. etc."?

In any case they helped people forget he was an aristocratic Kennebunkport blueblood member of one of America's wealthiest and most powerful dynasties, right? Created the illsuion he was a straight-talking Texas cowboy dude.

No, Kate, Obama's success wasn't built by people exploiting every 'Bushism'. But it was built, in large part,by the failure of Bush's idiotic and reckless policies and by the people's rightful antipathy towards them. The American people are wonderfully forgiving, but once Katrina came around, that was it - they were done with Bush. It's documented fact that his numbers went down then and never came back, making him the most hated President in US history. Bushisms had nothing to do with that. Reckless incompetence did.

The media is definitely still in love with Obama, and there is no doubt that a similar gaff from Bush would have been big news.

The thing is though, I can not imagine Bush ever saying something like that. Obama is in a league of his own when it comes to these inappropriate comments when he's trying to be cool. George Bush on the other hand, actually comes off as a genuinely nice guy when in a similar atmosphere. I was embarrassed for Obama when I watched the video, because it is obvious that this type of nasty derogatory commentary is his way of trying to be funny.

He did the same thing when interviewed before the Super Bowl. The interviewer was joking about how his picture had been cut out from the rest of the family on the cover of some magazine and in his place was a picture of Jessica Simpson. Obama said something like "Looks like Jessica Simpson is having a bit of a weight problem there" since the article was commenting on her weight. He only said that because he is trying to come off as cool and funny. He was obviously completely unaware of the controversy surrounding this story arguing that the media was perpetuating an unhealthy body image for young girls.

Verbal diarrhea isn't a great quality when you're president of the united states.

invite some of the association's bowlers to the White House ...

what I call rubbing salt into a wound.

Posted by: Harry at March 21, 2009 12:15 PM

Just wait. Obama has only been in the White House for a short period of time and he has already given the political right enough ammunition to win the next election. Obama is destined to become the worst President in US history.

Posted by: Albert at March 21, 2009 7:35 PM

Albert, there's every indication Barry's angling to be the -last- president in US history.
