Putting A Saudi Shill In Charge Of National Intelligence Estimates

Is there nothing that Obama can't do?

The man who will be "providing substantive counsel to the DNI and senior policymakers on issues of top national security importance" is in the pocket of the Saudis. Contrary to the expectations of Marty Peretz and others, Obama has enlisted in his administration a number of individuals with views that are hostile to Israel. One more won't matter too much. What makes Freeman different is that he actually defends the corrupt Arab states that foment and support terror while at the same time condemning a democratic ally of this country.

Meryl Yourish - "The lack of concern about Freeman from the media and from the Left shows how much they value critics of Israel. In any other circumstance an appointment of someone with Freeman’s conflicts of interest would be the subject of scrutiny. I guess his anti-Israel stands trump all else."

Don't expect to see any of those "O" logos disappearing from the sites of self proclaimed "pro-Israel" Liberal bloggers. Obama's a Democrat, and that trumps anything and everything Israel.

Scratch a leftist, you'll find an anti-semite - but at least they're somewhat honest about it. Scratch a Liberal, and you'll find an exploiter of useful Jews.

This is truly tragic but not unexpected. Jews have no one to blame but themselves. I personally have grown tired of defending Israel only to watch Jews spit on supporters like me and then get into bed with the people who want them defeated. The sad reality is that Jews have few friends on the left and have shunned their supporters on the right. They are now alone. Why are there not more Ezra Levants?

Looks like that crack I made about the carrier battle group in the Mediteranian ain't so funny now. Maybe $900 million in "aid" WILL go up the beach in Gaza.

Short victorious war, anyone?

This IS Saudi-related: failed post from an earlier thread.

Bubba Clinton says: "The Israelis have to decide whether they want to share the future in a positive way with a constructive Palestinian state".

Robert Spencer (Jihadwatch) says:
The Israelis have to decide that? The Palestinians apparently are already all on board with the idea of peaceful coexistence with Israel, and have forgotten all about that jihad business? What planet is Bill Clinton on? The same planet, of course, that is inhabited by most of the learned analysts when it comes to the jihad against Israel -- and the overwhelming evidence that the Palestinians don't want peace, but will continue to press for the destruction of Israel, never seems to disturb their comfortable analyses.
Quite.

My favourite Bubba paragraph:
The king of Saudi Arabia and I think more than 20 other Muslim countries in the whole Arab Middle East, with the exception of Syria, has been out there strongly supporting a peace process,” he noted.
Wow! "The King and I".

Me: The Saudi "peace plan" includes a return to the indefensibe 1949 lines and the "right of return" for the grand and great grandchildren of the orginal refugees and a huge number of Arabs who came to the area well after the 1948 war. And, uh, the destruction of Israel as a majority Jewish state.

Netanyahu must be burning up the phone lines to the Merkava and Uzi factories to put on extra shifts.

I'm not sure that Western Jews can be classified or stereotyped on political issues, but left-liberals (and to the extent of Jews within their ranks) everywhere, tend to prefer any and all forms of appeasement over the "rude and decisive" actions of Israel in defending it's population. Being anti-Israel is just one more tenet of PC goose-stepping, the debate is all but completely shut down. One must preface the topic with "Israel has a right to defend its self but............"

With the appointment of one more in Obama's kingdom, The brain-dead American electorate didn't like (or understand) the premise of America Alone and would prefer to join the ranks of left-libs worldwide and stroll down the same demographic road to extinction.

Posted by: John Chittick at February 27, 2009 12:45 PM

The Phantom: If you go to Caroline Glick's site and scroll down for the piece on Netanyahu facing a three headed monster, you will realize that Israel is toast.
Even the IDF is in full appeasement mode. Don't wanna take Hamas down.

Fritz: I'm afraid I'm with you vis a vis your comment about being tired of supporting a jewicidal nation. I believe that the forces against its survival - internal and external --, and including its betrayal by the Marxist and fully-palestinianized POTUS, are now insurmountable.

Posted by: Me No Dhimmi at February 27, 2009 12:59 PM

Hum, I wonder what Mearsheimer-Walt would say about this? If the Jooos actually controlled the 'hallowed halls of power' as these idiots implied, then this shouldn't have happened.

To Fritz:
There are a lot of us! Ezra is not alone.

Methinks that Freeman dude is an all-around amoral, unethical scumbag.

I understand he's like the proverbial crossed fingers with the SinoCommie regime as well... Guess we shouldn't be shocked that Obama would want his kind in his administration, considering all the negative stuff we know about him, notwithstanding that the Big Media is pretty much mum on it...

Typical corrupt "progressive", Mr. Freeman. Only thing that matters is money. They'll take whatever position necessary to hopefully enrich themselves via doing so.

People who are anti-Israel are no better than the Nazis. Because the hostility and hatred being directed towards Israel is based on nothing more than prejudicial Jew-hatred. Israel has done nothing wrong, except resist the hostile forces next door who want to destroy her just because she exists and she's Jewish. Those who claim otherwise are either lying or brainwashed and lazy-minded.

Being hostile towards Israel is a politically-correct cover for being a Jew-hater. And I guess that most Leftists are therefore, well...

Mr. Freeman also works for the Chinese Communist Party.

JERUSALEM – President Obama's nominee for a top intelligence post sits on the board of a major oil company owned by the Chinese government that is widely seen as conducting business deals meant to expand China's influence worldwide, WND has learned.

(...)

Freeman is on the board of the China National Offshore Oil Corporation, or CNOOC, which in 2005 tried to purchase the ninth largest oil firm in the U.S. while he was a member. The merger was halted following bipartisan congressional opposition amid fears the deal would harm American national security interests.

The Chinese oil firm also has been accused of multiple human rights violations.

Me No Dhimmi, not to appear too cynical I hope, but the IDF is getting their budget pumped up nicely with Hamas dropping rounds out in the desert around Gaza. Hamas is like a rabid guinea pig to the IDF, only dangerous if they take their boots off.

No, where the real danger lies is the Saudis, Egypt and Iran now that The One, the O-nly, the Obamessiah has decided he'd like to get his "peace in the middle east" merit badge, just like Billy the grifter and Jimmy the peanut farmer.

IDF would have to be nuts to squish Hamas right now, they are going to need all those men and shekels real soon.

It's Roosevelt all over again, putting enemies of the country into sensitive government positions. I wonder what will be the name of the U.S. senator to take over McCarthy's task?

Phantom is right on the money....
The IDF are not stupid....
The Islamofascists are....this is not 1948 but the IDF has much better resources of men and material, quantitive and qualitative versus their neighbours compared to 1948.....and then, in addition, there are the alleged IDF nukes.....
Simply put the IDF are the Spartans of the ME.

{“[The Arab League] will urge the Palestinians to sign it. [They] will help them succeed economically. [They] will relocate them,” Clinton said of the Arab Peace Initiative, which was first presented by Saudi Arabia in Beirut during 2002.}
Dream on.... [They] have less trust or respect for the Palestinians than the Isrealis....the Palestinians are a cancer the Arab neighbours have no interest in whatsoever relocating the Palestinians to anywhere other than Isreal.
Clinton is a naive narcissist........

jews still haven't caught on. they ignore what god has told them for thousands of years and wonder why things don't go their way. every time they listen to god things go well, they don't , well it is history.

Exactamundo! This will have bigger consequences than are now apparent. They will not be happy events. All one can do is pray for America which I do every day now.

Lets see.
The last two Empires that kicked out Jews where cut down. Both the first English Empire, than the Spanish one. Than came Germany. I think Dresden is a good exemplar of what their Jew hating came to. It’s fascinating to me that people never think to understand the natural laws we live under. The law of gravity, social laws, so why not moral or spiritual laws? Heck even the brain has a portion dealing with this.
The fact that the US has killed 30 million innocents in the womb is going to come down on them like a pestilence.

The only thing I believe that has kept the moral disaster coming their way was support of Israel.
Now its gone towards its enemies.
If you think its better here ,think again. If the Liberals get power. I think the same will hold true here. After all where even worse haters of humanity per capita.

"Scratch a leftist, you'll find an anti-semite - but at least they're somewhat honest about it."

Jews for Jesus - the greatest leftists who ever lived.

Robert Falwell - another great leftist.

Leftist v rightist? Hardly. This is about those who dare criticize Israel versus those who think Israel is purer than God.

Most intriguing, of course, is the sudden 'rightist' (if there is indeed such a thing/word) affinity for Israel. Historically, it was the rightists (religious folk tend to stand on the right) who were most anti-Israel. Or are the religious folk of the medieval ages now considered leftist? Lest we forget, the first victims of the Christian Crusaders were not Muslims. The victims were the Jews who had the dire misfortune of being in the path of the Crusaders passing through to fight the Muslims. Damn lefty crusaders.

I never did understand the manner in which those terms are applied

Posted by: Jersey at February 27, 2009 5:55 PM

By anti-Israel, I meant anti-semitic. While I thank you rightists for finding newfound benevolence towards Judaism, I suggest you avoid being the pots who called the kettle black. America will do what it has to. Israel will do what it has to. Israel has survived without America before - it will survive again. The last thing Israel needs is a bunch of Canadian bandwagoners whose understanding of the region and local politics is as substantial as a tinpot African dictators integrity.

Israel will survive Obama. Preferrably wihtout the bandwagoning hypocrites on this website.

Is this official?

does this have to be approved by the House and Senate - they might be able to stop this.

Freeman was president of Middle East Policy Council when it published textbooks claiming that when the British explorers came to the "New World" they met "Iroquois and Algonquin chiefs with names like Abdul-Rahim and Abdallah Ibn Malik".

How can this flake advise on intelligence?

Your post to Kate said it all, IMO, Revnant Dream. I feel sick every time I think of the terrible jeopardy the American people have placed themselves and the free world through the results of the last election there. I pray for victory for the freedom loving, God faring people of this planet; every day.

When a state puts up walls to prevent its citizens being murdered by unhindered sniping from a hostile neighbour and this act is described by leftists as erecting illegal apartheid barriers, you should have no problem understanding the outcome they desire.

Posted by: Sgt Lejaune at February 27, 2009 11:13 PM

Dear Phantom, you are a retard. Takes one to know one.

For the rest of you reading carefully selected pieces of opinion trying to pass of as journalism, here is some REAL news.

"The US is likely to boycott a UN racism conference, reports suggest, saying a text drawn up for the event criticises Israel and restricts freedom of speech.

An unnamed state department official said the draft document for April's forum in Geneva was "unsalvageable"."

"A US delegation travelled to Geneva for negotiations earlier in February to try to agree the conference's final document.

"Unfortunately, the document being negotiated has gone from bad to worse," the unnamed state department official was quoted as saying by the Washington Post newspaper.

"The current text of the draft of the outcome document is, in the United States government's estimation, unsalvageable.

"As a result the United States will not participate in the forthcoming negotiations on this text, nor will we be able to participate in a conference that is based on this text," the official said."

SO what was that about Obama being surrounded by anti-Israeli hacks. Keep up the good work manufacturing news and making stories where there are none.

Now thats a good boy.
