*Al Gore: “I believe it is appropriate to have an over-representation of factual presentations on how dangerous (anthropogenic global warming) is, as a predicate for opening up the audience to listen to what the solutions are.” IN OTHER WORDS - LIE.*
Punxsutawney Phil, sees shadow (and 10 year cooling trend); predicts 6 more weeks of winter
Given the bitterly cold winter thus far, it's not too surprising that Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow this morning. That means we're in for another six weeks of winter."
Why gore's trainees lost the lawsuit re gores fraudulent movie. Inconvenient lies.
* The film claims that melting snows on Mount Kilimanjaro evidence global warming. The Government’s expert was forced to concede that this is not correct.
* The film suggests that evidence from ice cores proves that rising CO2 causes temperature increases over 650,000 years. The Court found that the film was misleading: over that period the rises in CO2 lagged behind the temperature rises by 800-2000 years.
* The film uses emotive images of Hurricane Katrina and suggests that this has been caused by global warming. The Government’s expert had to accept that it was “not possible” to attribute one-off events to global warming.
* The film shows the drying up of Lake Chad and claims that this was caused by global warming. The Government’s expert had to accept that this was not the case.
* The film claims that a study showed that polar bears had drowned due to disappearing arctic ice. It turned out that Mr Gore had misread the study: in fact four polar bears drowned and this was because of a particularly violent storm.
* The film threatens that global warming could stop the Gulf Stream throwing Europe into an ice age: the Claimant’s evidence was that this was a scientific impossibility.
* The film blames global warming for species losses including coral reef bleaching. The Government could not find any evidence to support this claim.
* The film suggests that the Greenland ice covering could melt causing sea levels to rise dangerously. The evidence is that Greenland will not melt for millennia.
* The film suggests that the Antarctic ice covering is melting, the evidence was that it is in fact increasing.
* The film suggests that sea levels could rise by 7m causing the displacement of millions of people. In fact the evidence is that sea levels are expected to rise by about 40cm over the next hundred years and that there is no such threat of massive migration.
* The film claims that rising sea levels has caused the evacuation of certain Pacific islands to New Zealand. The Government are unable to substantiate this and the Court observed that this appears to be a false claim.

We're being negative, here, my people. There is a chance, albeit a slim one, that Fat Albert is actually doing the right thing and is sending money to his 250 Canadian disciples. If they're honest enough to declare their income as they're supposed to, that's money in the till for Canada. And that's a positive thing.
I note that the temperature at the South Pole is currently around -35C, which means things are fairly stable there, considering it's mid summer. Of course, it may be possible that the temperature is skewed by having the thermometer too close to the dwellings. It could in reality be -40C. Who's to know?

"Groundhogs predict more winter"
"Coulson said this winter has been colder than normal, especially in central and southern Ontario, where temperatures usually vary more and so some precipitation is snow but some is wetter, which cuts down on accumulation.
This winter has seen almost no moderation, he said, so the snow just keeps piling up.
The weather office's climatological models, which look 30 days into the future, predict the deep freeze will relent a bit, Coulson said.
"(But) it may be a case of Mother Nature giving with one hand but taking with the other," he said.
"We will see temperatures that aren't as cold as we've been experiencing for the last number of weeks, but as these low pressure systems move up, we'll be more into the area of mixed precipitation," meaning dreaded freezing rain, he added.
Coulson said Environment Canada is keeping its eye on a storm that could hit the Maritimes and Newfoundland and Labrador on Tuesday. It could come in the form of a significant rainfall or snowfall."

Green internationalist Erik Millett of No!Canada is one of 250 Canadians personally trained by Al Gore.
Where did Millett cut his moonbat Red-Green teeth?
"as a staff member of the national youth programme Katimavik.", whose founder (cursed be his memory) is now resting in the PET Cemetery in the cold, cold ground.
Millett 'recently trained in Montreal with Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Al Gore as a presenter and facilitator of “An Inconvenient Truth.”"
http://www.greenparty.ca/en/campaign/13004
Maz2,
Might this be the same Erik Millett that unilaterally stopped school children from singing "Oh Canada" in school every day, without notifying the parents?
"Singing the anthem is now reserved for monthly assemblies and special events during which children not allowed to hear it can be more easily excused, Millett said Thursday. As well, the anthem can be given more prominence in the new forum, he said.
Thompson believes there is more to the story. He said when he ran against Millet in the 2004 and 2006 federal elections in New Brunswick Southwest, Millett's actions were questionable. Millett also ran for the Green Party in the last election in Fundy Royal.
Thompson recalled a debate in St. Stephen in 2006 during which Millett, in his protest of the Conservative's position on the war in Iraq, appeared on stage dressed in a protective suit and wearing a gas mask. Later he brought body bags on stage to show his position that war would mean soldiers would be sent home in them.
One constituent left crying since she had a son serving in Afghanistan at the time, and collectively all parties booed Millett from the event, Thompson said.
"This (decision) is consistent with his behaviour," Thompson said of his former opponent's choice to curtail singing of the anthem. "He embarrassed himself and his party then, and he is still proving he has no appreciation for the sensitivity of some issues.""
