Hell has frozen over.

In to today's Sun, Vivian Song writes in her eco-nazi BS rant that "Obama has only four years to turn climate change aroung". As if humans can actually control the weather. The far left, in its arrogance, blame humans solely for the natural change in climate and once we are all turned into socialist serfs will then proclaim the climate crisis solved.

Snow, which has most likely fallem on Ras Al Khaimah many times before, will be used as "absolute irrifutable evidence" that global warming is real. Just like the natural occurance of glaciers calving icebergs.

Following the archived articles...

Elderly residents here said it is the first time they have seen snow.

Dated December 30, 2004.

Make it twice in less than 5 years. Clearly this is a result of AGW. Right? Right?

Posted by: the bear at January 25, 2009 10:46 AM
Ras Al Khaimah has plans to capitalise on the attractive climate and spectacular scenery of Jebel Jais by building a mountain resort and ski slope on top of the mountains.
But I thought that AGW was going to wipe out skiing around the world and make skiing at the Winter Olympics impossible? Posted by: andycanuck at January 25, 2009 11:05 AM

Going to set up a ski resort because it snowed twice in five years, the second time depositing an astounding 4 inches. Now these folks definately have more dollars than sense.

Posted by: uuess at January 25, 2009 11:13 AM

Was there enough snow to cancel the jihadi schoolbuses?

Posted by: Kevin F. at January 25, 2009 11:20 AM

why should the hoipolloi worry.

Obama will fix everything, they said his first 100 hrs would be as important as the first 100 days of any other presidency . so far he has decreed that gitmo would be closed without a plan to distribute the contents. increased funding of abortions in the USAs main areas of imported workers . banned lobbyists and then asked for one back immediately. stopped the Iraq war by attacking Pakistan.

Is there nothing Obama cant change and then change back . there is twice the change that he promised.

Change is the same. Change is the same.

Breaking NEWS, Al Gore will make a return trip to Sask. this comming week and give a lecture at the U of S. The main topic will be the effects of GLOBAL WARMING and getting rid of your FURNACE. The Sask. NDP will use their own money this time to pay his 250,000 dollar fee.

Posted by: DJ at January 25, 2009 11:42 AM

Global warming is a bitch, if your total inventory is tank tops, shorts and Jimmy Buffet CDs.

Posted by: Yoop at January 25, 2009 11:43 AM

Look forward to the day we'll have to burn all the leftover Fatso Gore's "Inconvenient Truth" books to keep warm.

Posted by: Liz J at January 25, 2009 12:30 PM

Getting rid of your furnace??

Isn't that Soozooki's schtick?

(more beer, more beer)

I continue to find the following: Oh but only the uneducated fail to understand that the fact that the weather is getting colder is proof of global warming. Now just get with the program and stop this nonsense...

Posted by: Alain at January 25, 2009 1:27 PM

The earth is cooling and warming over and over again as it has for millions of years. What is the big deal?

Posted by: MJH at January 25, 2009 1:38 PM

If global temperatures are on the increase why is it getting colder?

Posted by: ian at January 25, 2009 1:50 PM

Cold enough to freeze a goat's rectum shut...

That would be Taliban birth control.

Aha! the Brutal Afghan Winter is finally arriving!

Posted by: kakola at January 25, 2009 2:45 PM

Who ya goin' to believe? Gore or yer lyin' eyes?

Posted by: b_C at January 25, 2009 3:00 PM

If it really is getting warmer why do we keep breaking records for cold, colder, coldest?

Do we have any recent records for hot, hotter, hottest things?

Posted by: ian at January 25, 2009 3:10 PM
Aha! the Brutal Afghan Winter is finally arriving!
Posted by: kakola at January 25, 2009 2:45 PM

Actually, Ras Al Khaimah is in the United Arab Emirates. (I had to look it up - and I've been on Jeopardy!)

Posted by: MikeM at January 25, 2009 3:22 PM

Local cold events should not be confused with global temperatures. Global temperatures are still warming.

Posted by: Deezflowers at January 25, 2009 4:41 PM

Deezflowers: I have a broken hockey stick to go with the other one you bought.

Posted by: Sheldon Kotyk at January 25, 2009 4:51 PM

...ho crap, Saskatoon is cold! Just landed here on Sunday and it's -33

...and I don't care which measurement it is in!

"Local cold events should not be confused with global temperatures. Global temperatures are still warming."

Definitive proof, please.

"Local cold events should not be confused with global temperatures. Global temperatures are still warming."

"local events" from around the world give you global trends.
I googled "coldest temperatures" and the results seem like a cooling trend to me.
In response to a newspaper report that Germany was experiencing its coldest temperatures ever someone used the exact same argument that you did.

Posted by: ian at January 25, 2009 5:47 PM

Funnily enough Deezflowers only the insane side are manufacturing numbers to support their lost cause. After all Mann's and Henson's latest sock puppet has just been exposed. He decided to computer model the temperature rise in Antarctica instead of, you know, relying on actual measurements.

As they say in the MSM "Never let the facts get in the way of a good story".

Now who was it that once said, "I calls 'em as I seez 'em, and if I don't seez 'em I makez 'em up."

Posted by: Joe at January 25, 2009 6:13 PM

How come the fruitcakes like deeznuts, john cross, etc keep thinking the temp is warming? Trying to keep the ponzi scheme going, guys?.Is your carbon stock falling? Oh wait.Yes it is!Faster then the temp even...Bwahahahahahaha.

Posted by: Justthinkin at January 25, 2009 6:37 PM

I blame the jooooooos.

Posted by: Peter O'Donnell at January 25, 2009 7:26 PM

Deez I would call you a useful idiot, but I'm having trouble finding anything useful about you.

Local cold events should not be confused with global temperatures. Global temperatures are still warming.
Posted by: Deezflowers

Correct on the first sentence, Deez. Likewise local hot events. And we musn't confuse hemispheric trends with global trends either. When we look at the whole globe, temps are cooling. Even the head of the IPCC admitted as much.

Posted by: Dirtman at January 25, 2009 11:43 PM

A warm day in September is all the proof any TV commentator needs that Global Warming is coming, but snow in the UAE is just something we should all come to expect. After all, everyone knows Global Warming causes Global Cooling, droughts, floods,
snow storms, fewer hurricanes, more powerful hurricanes, weaker hurricanes, a cooling Antarctic and a warming Antarctic.

It has been the coldest winter - nationwide - not just locally. I sit writing this with a blanket wrapped around me, my furnace is blasting, I have a blanket over my sliding doors, they are completely covered in frost and frozen shut. I "winterized" my house, spending much money to prevent exactly this - weather stripping, new energy efficient windows etc. I live in an officially semi-desert area in Canada- sage brush, hoodoos, and temperatures over 40 Celsius in the summer, and has been for the last 200 years btw. This year its like livin in a frickin igloo, snow and more snow, cold and colder still.

Cite sources, please. Your assertion, otherwise, has as much substance as does a fart in the wind.

DFlower is just like my Niece when asked if she still supports AGW replied according to her experts this cold-trend must happen before it can warm globally.

This lil twit got her BS Degree in Under-Water-Basket-Weaving, now works for Sierra Club and has the audacity to spit out Stats like she is a Scientist.

Imagine the look I got from Mom, Sis and her Husband when I asked her in front of a large gathering, exactly what her Degree was in.

Yea, I know, as long as Obama is in Office I won't be getting to many invitations.
