Michael Byers is both disingenuous and dishonest. As a frequent (read: media whore) 'expert opinion' on CKNW and other stations, he was invariably introduced as a Professor of Int'l Studies at UBC.

The intent of course, was to put himself out as not only an 'expert' but as a disinterested, even handed and unbiased source of accurate information.

More than once I've called or e-mailed the host to first point out and then insist that he ask Byers about any active political associations. When caught out, he would reluctantly admit that he is a supporter of the NDP (this is prior to his becoming an NDP candidate)and that he supported them both financially and with strategic advice.

He is typical of the commie/leftist mindset. Power by whatever means possible: stealth, dis-information, misrepresentation, you name it.

And he is teaching our kids.

Byers will end his hunger strike before it succeeds, since he plans to run as a Dipper again. Technically, you can't run as a dead candidate, just a dead-beat one.

I may be wrong on this but I believe Byers was one of the 'experts' behind the whole 'mistreated detainee'farce a year or two back. Now,our soldiers rarely take detainees,and I doubt if the scum make it back to whatever sewer they came from. Also ,if memory serves me correctly,Mr. Byers has more than a passsing acquantance with Ignatieff.

Byers is doing it only for the publicity; his stunt certainly doesn't help anyone other than himself.
