Spaghetti Westerner

CBC;

More than 500 supporters of Israel were met by 50 pro-Palestinian protesters during coinciding rallies in Winnipeg on Thursday night. [...]

"I'm not even Arab, I'm Italian, but when you open the TV and you go on Al-Jazeera news and you see the killing they don't show on the public TV, you cry," said Majeeda Harb, who attended the outdoor rally.

Commentors note that a Majeeda Harb popped up at a Winnipeg "Israel Must Cease To Exist For Peace" rally in 2006, organized by the Peace Alliance of Winnipeg and the Canadian Arab Federation;
"The only people I'm angry at are the Israeli government," said Majeeda Harb, who fled Lebanon with her husband and six children a week ago on a Canadian-sponsored evacuation ship. "It was hard for my children," she said.

So they can't possibly be the same person.

Mississauga Matt has the comment of the week, and it's only Tuesday -

Like a big pizza pie,
That’s jihadi.
When you’re in dar al-harb,
Dressed up in Muslim garb,

Perhaps she was an Italian of convenience before she was a Canadian of convenience?

Perhaps she decided to switch because the Italians didn't have the great same great war zone evacuation protocol?

Two questions: Is Majeeb the one with the middle finger salute in the picture at the Winnipeg "peace rally"?
Do you think CBC will do an investigate report to uncover the real identity of Majeeb?

There were a number of middle eastern refugees in Italy.

Be curious to understand what pasports she has, and wtf she was doing in Lebanon after being in Italy.

I still think that there needs to be a reading of the riot act on dual citizenships. In that you can only have dual citizenship with countries that Canada deems have compatible values.

Practiacally this just means you never travel on your other passport. Since you can't revoke another countries citizenship. If they travel on the "non friendly passport" then you need to explain. Three strikes and you lose your Canadian citzenship, since you clearly dont need it.

Some observations:

There is only one Majeeda Harb in Canada. There cannot possibly be more than one. I will thank every Kate M. I meet for running SDA. Canada is unique that way. No two people in Canada can have the same name. Now excuse me while I go flirt with one of the dozen or so Christine Chans I know.

All muslim converts take on Muslim names. Yusuf Islam doesn't sound nearly as American as Cat Stevens did, and yet they are the names used by a single person.

How angry would you get if the Arabs killed your family? How angry would you get if the Israelis killed your family? An eye for an eye only succeeds in making the whole world blind.

Israel will win short term. Hamas will win long term. Many more potential recruits out there now. Including some new ones in Canada.

Strange world, this.

Re: CBC Incompetence

As a taxpayers, we are paying the CBC more than a BILLION dollars a year.

So why can't they use Google? Why would they use a an attributed quote without doing the most cursory inquiry into the veracity of the person's statement? Why does the CBC put forward as truthful and accurate, a statement from someone who clearly is untruthful and a propagandist in support of Hamas?

"Supporters of Israel crowded into the gym in a campus building for their rally, Stand with Israel, while protesters stood outside with white candles and distributed flyers. They included MLAs, MPs and federal Treasury Board President Vic Toews."

Can we safely assume then that MLA's, MP's and TB President Vic Toews were amongst the 'protesters' who "stood outside with candles"? Because that's how it reads.

"An eye for an eye only succeeds in making the whole world blind."

Thanks you for that mind numbingly useless cliche. Did it make you feel self-righteous as you survey the action from a place of safety?
And why is it only Western armies that create potential recruits with their actions? Muslim terrorists blow up crowds, and yet I don't hear anyone talking about the recruits they create. At any rate, it's too late for your kumbaya babble, Israel has reached a point where survival is paramount, and it must survive before anything else can take place. They wasted decades listening to the dangerous pap from people like you, giving up land and watching the growing strength of enemies.

"What are they thinking! Airlift proposed for tens of thousands of Iraqis this year!"

(refugee settlement watch)

You heard that right! John Podesta’s hard left Center for American Progress is proposing we airlift up to 100,000 Iraqis who have worked for the US in virtually any capacity (day laborers?) to a location outside the US just until they can be processed (quickly) to live in your town.

Honestly, I don’t know if I can write this post without swearing!

Tens of thousands of Iraqis have served with the U.S. military and other organizations during the past five and a half years as translators, drivers, construction workers, engineers, and office workers. A disturbing trend has emerged: extremists and militia groups are targeting the estimated 30,000 to 100,000 U.S.-affiliated Iraqis as traitors for working with Americans. In many cases, the lives of these Iraqis and their families are in imminent danger. Many have become refugees or internally displaced persons within Iraq. These Iraqis urgently need and deserve America’s help, and the Obama administration should act quickly to remove them from harm’s way.

The Obama administration should initiate an immediate airlift—Operation Safe Haven Iraq 2009—of U.S.-affiliated Iraqis in need of protection as the best course of action for urgently addressing this problem.

Kathy Shaidle: "Italians really do say 'open the TV/lights.'"

The reason, I suspect, is because as French for turn on the lights is "ouvrez les lumieres," the same must be true in Italian. Conversely, they "close the lights" rather than turn off the lights.

Maher Arar tried Globe-trotting on a canadian passport after he fled Syria as a draft-Dodger and came to Canada for peace and freedom.

He was in Tunisia living with his Wifes relatives that have ties to the Muslim Brotherhood , when the Police started to move in he ran to the Airport and tried to flee to the USA because the RCMP in Canada wanted him to explain all those hidden hard drive and Data disks then found in the walls and attic of his house.
Arar had a secong home near the Boston Airport where the 9/11 hijackers took planes from , Arar attended a well know Militant Mosque in Boston and was seen with people being watched by the FBI for recruiting Jihadists and selling Jihad video for money to fund terrorism in the Midddle east.
Arar in listed in the O'Connor report as getting a gun permit in 1992 just after the Gamil Gharbi slaughter for Allah in montreal where Arar also lived at that time.

The media in canada is so afraid of the Terrorists and lawsuits by CAIR and Sheema Khan , that they choose to leave out the whole story for fear of a bombing or kidnap of workers by the extremists in canada that we now see on our Streets waving hamas/Hezbollah banners and yelling death threats to canadian civilains that watch their pro-hams blood lust.

Wake-up people, the Arar's got $10 million of OUR monet for a Alleged harm that has yet to be confirmed since he won't go near a real Courtroom and sear on a Quran to be cross examined over his shody story that he was scooped-up in the uSA and sent to Syria for torture.
Check out arar's own website , he still posts he first lawsuit that blames Jordan because that's where he was flown to after being refused entry to the USA on a canadian passport.

$10 million buys a whole buch of Jihad training camps in B.C. , and maybe those 4 terrorists bombing of our Oil pipes have a tie to the islamofascists in B.C. becase the Milleniium bomber Ahmed Ressam got his bomb into the USA from B.C. , and the Sikh's also used B.C. to slaughter 230 canadians on the Air India 747.

I'm sick of the hate-filled bastards bring their wars here in the guise of Refugees and then produce Anchor-babies so they can't be deported to criminal actions according to the Refugee rules.
We can deport these thugs and killers if they are refugees, they may face harm if sent back home, BUT...it's OK to get a passport and go back home to Gaza and Lebanon to support Hamas and Hezbollah because canada will bail your sorry ass out once the war starts.

My dad's background is Aboriginal , and I'm tempted to make a Survival-pack with the White-man just to purge our land of the fascists thugs
that kill for Allah and will one day slaughter all the navtives as they want to do to the Jews who were in that area lang before Muhamad and islam.
Once we boot these murderous thugs out we can go back to the land issues to co-exists and mend the past harms, but the Islamists want all of us dead and they did in Toronto what the nazis could never do, they inflicted a terror on civilains while the local Police and Mayor Miller gave their approval by their silence to condemn it or stop it.
As for Syed Ryan and CUPE, just think of all the money to be saved once CUPE is gone and private Businesses share the wealth to the common folks and we don't have 85% of our taxes going to Union wages, benefits and pensions while the service are reduced to fund these Hamas supporters.
CUPE is a big Ponze-scheme that keeps drawing in useful idiots that give Syed a kick-back for assuring them a job, by the scam is a Invert pyramid where CUPE need more and more suckers buying into the scam.
Pretty soon the weight of the pyramid that is resting on the tax-payers will collapse the system and the last buch of suckers will be laid-off while the fat cats with seniority will still feed off the pension money until they die .

Toronto already spends about 85% of the taxes for salaries and benefits , we have fewer garbabe pick-ups,more user-fees,fewer snow removal, higher Utility bills with poorer service, and yet Miller has hired thousands of Union workers during his Job-freeze plan and had doubled to Deficit for every budget starting at $64 million and now $700 million.

Miller and MP Chow have the "No one is illegal" crusade in full swing and where does he thinks the welfare and education money comes from?
MIller wants non-Citizens to vote in Elections, and this will mean a Pro-hamas Councillor in most GTA wards with a high Jihad population .

I don't get my news from the the CBC or CTV , if they want to show the dead babies in gaza....then show the gays being mudered in gaza or the beheadings of people opposed to hamas.
But they won't because they fear the Terrorist in canada that have now exposed their presence here no mater how many time Chretien claimed we didn't have Pro-jihad islamists on our soil.

Your quote is pretty nifty, so I'd like to quote my favourite philosopher, John Fogerty;

"Last night, I saw the fire spreading to the palace door

Silent majority weren't keeping quiet, any more"

While I agree that more and more muslims are becoming radicals, I also see a ground swell of support for stopping the flow of them into our midst. If the police in any Canadian city turn tail and run like rabbits, I'm taking matters into my own hands.

Posted by: dp at January 13, 2009 7:05 PM

Sorry for the typos, I fixed them on my screen but they still came out in the final edit?

I think you get my point though , we CAN'T deport thugs if they are refugees and they know that , and the CAW along with CUPE ARE ponze schemes or a mild Amways scam to draw in newcommers that don't ask question and gladly give CUPE a kick-back from the paycheck as a Job-fee .
But workers must support the CUPE causes no mater how evil or vile, you must boycott Israel but spend taxpayers money in Cuba while Fidel jails gays with AIDS.
You must protest the USA for GITMO prison, but support Cuba that own GITMO and leases it to the USA , but don't tell Syed that because he'll go into shock to hear that the US Platte Amendment
of about 1905 was to protect the people of Cuba once Spain left it behind for the people to run.
No one would attack Cuba while a US Navy base was there to return fire.
But somehow CUPE sees Israel and the USA as villians , I wonder if Syed will beg to have his Picture taken with Obama even after he now said GITMo won't close and that he will copy harper and Bush by lowering taxes , and won't comtest the gay marriage ban in california.

Poor CUPE , all those young bright newly-weds that think they have job security and now have kids and a mortgage and yet CUPE signed-off their Rights to sue for Wrongful dismissal claims when they are let go to have a lazy senior fat-cat parachute into their job and get twice the Holidays, 15 sick days, huge pension,do less work, leave early on fridays, book all the good holidays, and yet whine about being over-worked and under-paid.

Obama has said that he want the same Buzz hargrove type bail-out to Buy-American made cars and might force GM to pull jobs from canada first,
The UAW agreed to a Loan deal with a no-strike clause until the problem is fixed, but the idiots at the CAW sya they won't take a bail-out if they can't Strike once the money comes in.

Need I say more about canadian Unions.

Interesting how Islam is not even recognized as a religion in Italy (among other unswallowables, the leading mullahs and Imams would have to sign an agreement acknowledging Israel's absolute right to exist) and that while there are about a million Muslims infes... er, living in Italy, only 10,000 of them are citizens. Its hardly a cliche.

It is a tad bit ironic that the land created for the victims of a holocaust can and probably will only find peace and security with the eradication of the millions of others who also happened to be living on the same piece of land, rightly or wrongly.

It would be thoroughly counter-intuitive to think that this latest round of violence isn't going to create a new set of jihadis and jihad-supporters. It would also be thoroughly counter-intuitive to think that any nation should have to live under the threat of daily random rocket attacks.

I propose no solution. Short of the eradication of one or the other, there is none.

Ms. Shaidle,

I would quote some of the great names of the 21st century but alas, short of yourself, I can think of none. Bush, Obama, Osama, Chavez, Chretien, Martin, Harper, Blair, Brown, Ahmednijad, Kim Jong Il - who amongst them has said anything worthwhile in the past 9 years.

And what is with this gratuitous potshot at Martin Luther King. Plagiarist or not, his influence cannot be denied. Thomas Jefferson not only fielded slaves, he also had children with them. That does not, and should not, detract from his influence on American politics and the resulting fame he has earned.

Methinks you are suffering from a bit of 'influence'-envy. I find that a lot of underachievers love putting down overachievers by pointing out rather pointless flaws. The entire exercise achieves nothing, since overachievers do have some substance that papers over the flaws. I am, indeed, sorry that you haven't become as famous and influential as you would have hoped to by this stage of your life, but I would suggest avoiding gratuitous attacks on those who, in the past, have. It comes across as petty.

Amongst his other virtues MLK was a plagiarizing, adulterous, communist - for starters.

And no, there's no proof, as such term is usually defined by responsible people, that Jefferson had children by slaves - though if liberals wish long enough and loud enough they usually deceive themselves and a few others.

MLK's quote is "more exciting, than truthful", which puts him on the same level as an epigrammist as Oscar Wilde.

The MLK cult is another bizarre adornment of our advanced western culture of decline, and were he to be judged as he requested, by the content of his character rather than the colour of his skin, we'd have a lot less gormless and adulatory nonsense sloshing round.

Wow, thats random. In a thread about Jihadis, MLK's integrity, or lack thereof, is under scrutiny.

The particular quote in question - "An eye for an eye only makes the whole world blind" is fairly logical and straightforward. If everyone kills the person responsible for killing one of their kin, it stands to logic, if the person thinking has any, that sooner or later, everyone will kill everyone else off. Exciting? Truthful? I don't seen any point in bandying those terms, but I do believe the word you are looking for is realistic.

As for the Jefferson bit, I am only quoting the Thomas Jefferson Foundation's own stance on the issue. Of course, I am sure that the foundation is full of lefties who hate Jefferson and seek to decieve themselves. Alternatively, they could be seen as people interested enough in his life to scrutinize the details. I wonder how that would be processessed by your ability to think logically.

Adulatory nonsense or not, one would have to be foolish to deny the role played by MLK in the civil rights movement. That he is human and has human flaws is pointless. Mother Theresa enjoyed the patronage of Baby Doc Duvalier despite his unsavoury, even bloody, record. That has little bearing on the fact that she helped thousands of poor people.

MLK did much for the civil rights movement. Perhaps you are indicating your opposition to the civil rights movement by trying to undermine one of its most visible proponents. Will we ever know?

Next question, is she related to Senator Mac Harb, one time Liberal MP from Ottawa.

Funny how those Italians love to chase Al-Jezeera skirt... just ask Avi Lewis and Tony Burman (dhimmi and dhimmi-in-chief) another pair of famous Italians.
