By the time The One is finished with his "trap and flayed" GHG programs, Americans will have to resort to burning piles of Ben's helicopter money to prevent the indoor thermometers of the nation from reading the same as the outdoor thermometers.
There won't be any push-back from the MSM. They're behind America all the way, helping to push the economy over the cliff.
Any bets, though, that China will play hardball with the US, refusing to lend any more money unless The One institutes an uncertain remedy to a fictitious problem? Why send troops and waste missiles when you can finesse your opponent into turning their own guns on themselves.

I've often pointed out how the only people still believing in global climate change are those that are making a living from government provided funding... but not to any great degree of success. My parents for example, while it must be difficult to accept anything not taught to them by government (they were lifelong gov't employees) cannot reply to any discussion of global climate change with anything more than a "but it seems warmer" while they sit and watch the CBC, listen to the CBC radio exclusively.... and dad swears that Tommy Douglas was a great guy. oh well, that's why people have sports to talk about at Christmas isn't it?

All segments of the MSM are fully pushing the climate change coolaid cart. Television, radio, newspapers. You cant escape it. Now so called experts in the field are being installed in high places in the USA. There is a agenda going on that,s no longer hidden. That video clip below with all the reporters and editors being chastised for not asking the questions about the big Zero could just as easily be applied to their coverage of global warming. Why do they never talk to any of the thousands of scientist who question AGW? Why do they never cover any of their events like the big conference in New York a few months back? Why do they not follow the money stream flowing to Al Gore while he creates more global warming than most African countries?
As more stuff about the big Zero (his smoking, his girl friend, his past drug use, his neglected brother) comes out of the closet so too will stuff about the weak case for global warming. In both cases the media is 100% to blame for taking sides and not digging for the truth where ever it may lead.

Already snow's beginning to fall this afternoon, and we're facing up to a foot of snowfall tonight.
Nothing unusual about that, but it's unusual compared to some of the past several years, which saw warmer temps and less snow, causing the likes of Al Gore to cook up that big hoax of "global warming" and "climate change" based on just a few years' flukey-warm winters.
It's returning to normal, already, which is to say, cold and snowy, which is normal for Canada.

Darn it, Kate. You’ve made me all nostalgic for real weather!
Global warming is a construction of deceit and useful idiots.
The most alarming part of it for me is the sheer persistence of the global warming myth in the face of so much critical opposition by people whose reputations and credentials would not be ignored anyplace else.
The useful idiots could probably be angrily forgiven because of the sheer fatuity of their easily led brains.
Although there is a factor of malevolence as the useful idiots mindlessly use global warming as a way to trade social status for money and patronage.
However, the really spooky group are the authors of the lies and their refusal to acknowledge critical opionion even when it comes from unimpeachable sources.
Thought control. Manipulation of other human beings for their own selfish motives. Confidence schemes pressed on whole population groups. Unethical co-opting of politicians. Politicians who are so enamoured or fearful of the Deceit Group that they would rather self-destruct and lose their office than go against them.
We first ran into this in the US when overwhelming force pressured our Republican politicians to take care of the border. We finally had to literally weaken the Republican Party by throwing out of office a majority that had literally cost the lifetimes of some Republicans to achieve this majority.
The demonic influence was so acute that office holders would rather cut their own throat than acknowledge a tidal wave of public dissent.
Now these Deceit Groups are operating on a global scale. They are playing the music, and far too many are dancing to their tune.
Will we have the will and the insight and the influence to overturn them? That, my friends, is the question we will be answering in the future.

Start agreeing with Environemental fascists, but put a twist on it.
The Kyoto objectives might ACTUALLY be in reach if we ended no-fault divorce and kiboshed the feminist movement, thereby making the family stronger.
Divorced people = 2 homes instead of one, which means two furnaces, two fridges, two cars and so on. If we actively cut back on divorce, we will become far more environmentally friendly. Also, with less homes, there will be less demand for trees which means protecting the rainforests etc. Yaddah yaddah yaddah...
Also, it is in the interests of fighting global warming that only one parent works while the other stays at home. This means less workplaces chugging out polution each day, and also less workplace furnaces, fridges etc. An added benefit of one parent staying home is that parent will have some extra time to grow a vegetable garden or tend to chickens and such, thus cutting down on the fossil fuels it takes to transport foodstuffs, and also the environmentally damaging large grocery stores will be reduced.
Children of two parent families where one parent stays home will also produce better balanced, more emotionally stable children - as even Stats-Canada clearly shows. This will mean less need for the vast army of social workers, and less money needed to heat their fancy offices. Since over 75% of people in prison come from broken homes, ending no-fault divorce will mean LESS prisons, less police, less courts and so on - including the extra resources the average joe burns just in order to pay taxes to support these justice programs.
It goes on and on.
Anyone SERIOUS about global warming while preaching about how DIRE the future is going to be if drastic measures are not taken, should surely be able to see that ending no-fault divorce and strengthening the family will have a MASSIVE impact on reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
If 50% of marriages end in divorce... lets just guess that with the ending of no-fault, and actively encouraging families to work it out and stay married, we ought to be able to cut down on our housing/heating/fuel/social needs etc., by an easy 25% in a rather short amount of time.
Of course, this goes against EVERYTHING the left believes in, and they would never agree to it as destruction of the family is very high on the Marxist agenda.
But, then again, if it is that serious... drastic measures are needed, right? I'm sure Dr. Fruitfly will agree and actively campaign to end No-Fault Divorce... for the good of the planet.
And, if they are not interested in seriously debating the issue, then I certainly don't have to feel guilty for dismissing the absurdity of carbon taxes and other economically destructive ideas that are FAR more difficult to achieve than simply ending no-fault divorce.

But, taking the long-term view, there is hOpe:

"Will Canada see its first white Christmas since '71?
The first day of winter brought wind-chill warnings, snow and a bevy of storms to cities across Canada on Sunday, potentially laying the groundwork for the first cross-country white Christmas in nearly four decades.
Environment Canada senior climatologist David Phillips told CTV Newsnet that "it looks like a very good chance" it will be a white Christmas for all parts of Canada for the first time since 1971.
"It's just sort of the beginning of winter, and it's a little much to expect when we have so many different climatic types in this country for it to be frozen and snow-covered from right across the huge country," he told CTV Newsnet on Sunday.
But with so much snow already on the ground, the veteran weather prognosticator said he thinks that any upcoming balmy Christmas Day temperatures will not be able to melt away the growing snowfall base.
"It may be in 40 years, the first one," he said."

Devin,
Do you mean average like gore's energy consumption is the equivalent to a dozen "average" households?
Posted by: ural at December 21, 2008 7:44 PMDevin, I'm familiar with "average", as in, "Devin Maxwell's intelligence falls well below."
Posted by: Yukon Gold at December 21, 2008 8:13 PMAnyone here familiar with the word average?

uppers, the AVERAGE IQ is well north of your IQ
Average? Like a hockey stick graph?
Posted by: dp at December 21, 2008 8:19 PMIts Cold.
Its Cold in Wetaskiwin tonight.
-28 now with lows expected of -35, -36.
You mention Global Warming.
I'm going to hit you.
Hit you on the nose.
As hard as I can.
Average of what?
Posted by: Jan at December 21, 2008 10:10 PMAverage of leftard IQ, which is pretty much like the average Canadian temperature tonight, somewhere around -20C without the windchill. The next environmental activist with a smidgen of intelligence I meet will the the first.

Just to put to rest the myth you folks are trying to propagate that people are shying away from the term "global warming" and instead adopting the more neutral "climate change", here's an article from a mere couple of days ago in which "global warming" is used a great deal:

Of course, these guys are only NASA scientists; they're not celebrated and acknowledged experts in the field like all of you.

The scientific truth is the sun controls our climate.
Posted by: set you free at December 21, 2008 10:58 PMReal: Is that NASA the same NASA that determined a meteorite found in Antarctica was actually a rock chipped off Mars and deep in that rock was potential alien life forms? You mean that NASA right?
BTW ever seen a rock fall off Earth? (didn't think so).
BTW never trust an agendized scientist who reads the latest rage as a source of funding.

Real,
Do you read the links you post or are you challenged.
http://www.usatoday.com/weather/climate/globalwarming/2008-12-19-global-warming-severe-storms_N.htm
That story is full of weasil words like "may or may not" Those are not the words of settled science and indeed support the opinion that the Climate model was the work of a Jelly Bean J.O.
Posted by: Phillip G. Shaw at December 21, 2008 11:29 PM"And as Canadians don't we bar-b-que at these temperatures?"
Well perhaps, but just barely. Propane remains a liquid at -42C so if it gets any colder and you prairie folk want to b-b-q, you may have to heat up your propane tank to get any pressure out of it.
I just bar-b-qued a nice salmon last night, but then it was only -11C here in Nanaimo.
Loved the video, set you free. Thanks.
Posted by: Jan at December 22, 2008 1:12 AMSorry, Kate, but I'm afraid I must respond to the troll.
Real: you're a freakin' retard. Look at the very last sentence in the article you quote. The "official" UN organization studying global-warming/climate-change/climate-crisis/climate-fill-in-the-blank is not called the IPGW. It's called the IPCC.
Now, real, use that pea-brained-sized leftard brain of yours, and figure out what the CC stands for in that acronym.
Now, sod off. Idiot.

Yeppers, have done that and even stood outside with the prerequisite beverage in the amber bottle too. Even used a torch to heat up propane lines and built a fire under my truck to warm up the oil.
In Moose Jaw there is nothing quite like standing in front of a Tutor while the student and instructor pilots go through checklists before starting the last aircraft in the line that is parked by Belle Plaine. Aircraft fly pretty good in cold dense air... people not no much.
What was that island in the Caribbean that wanted to become part of Canada? It's sounding pretty good to me now.

There was an acronym in the story that didn't refer to Global Warming? My, my! You've demolished my argument!
Here's two more stories from the last week that make extensive use of the term Global Warming - refuting the myth that people are backin away from the term

BTW, not sure why it is you're not able to make you point without the trash-talking insults. My guess is that you think they make you sound authoritative and tough, but they really make you sound...well, childish.
