As well as a four letter word template for other cultural cutting-edgers seeking arts council grants.
Posted by Kate at December 14, 2008 11:04 AMThe transcending force via the Volkswagen Beetle was a creation of the Hitler regime ... the people's car. Is there irony there?
Posted by: Jack at December 14, 2008 12:04 PMWell, Hitler was a nationalist socialist.
Are the Bloc Quebecois nationalist socialists too?
Posted by: Phil at December 14, 2008 12:16 PMnow I'v had my dose of "how stupid can they git" for this day:-))))
Posted by: GYM at December 14, 2008 12:22 PMTax payers money hard at work here
Posted by: trucman at December 14, 2008 12:36 PMAll I can think is that I'm glad that I didn't have to pay for it. If I were Swedish, I'd be demanding some tax dollars back.
Posted by: Andrew at December 14, 2008 12:37 PMHell, I has a better "art car" concept than that. 78 Olds, paint a runway down the hood and screw an F-16 model to it.
License plate holder read "Too close for missiles- switching to guns!"
Posted by: The Phantom at December 14, 2008 12:41 PMNot Aarhus!!! They make great beer in Aarhus. And have world class drunkin tours of the breweries!!
Leave Aarhus out of it.

Posted by: AtlanticJim at December 14, 2008 3:50 PMWell, it's a good gig if you can get it. I'm not a creative person, but even if I was, I don't think I could delude myself into speaking this type of baffelgarb.
Posted by: Erik Larsen at December 14, 2008 4:26 PMDidn't even have to read the contract to get the gist....F%$K the taxpayer and car owners....WE UNION TYPES OF SOCIALISTS ARE ENTITLED TO EVERYTHING!!! And how many trees did these greenies kill to get everything. As somebody said in the comments awhile ago....Viagra to f$#k the dog???Let them go bankrupt. We will all be better off.
Posted by: Justthinkin at December 14, 2008 6:13 PMDarn....wrong post.Sorry
Posted by: Justthinkin at December 14, 2008 6:17 PMAh,ja! Volkswagen was Hitler's great swindle of the 1930's, a pay now, get later, people's car which somehow morphed into the Wehrmacht Heer Kubelwagen scout car.

Posted by: kelly at December 14, 2008 10:20 PMOnly in a very, very wealthy society is something like this possible.
Posted by: RSP at December 15, 2008 12:39 AM"Ms. Vestergaard’s artistic endeavours have been subsidised by the Danish Arts Council, the Arts Grants Committee Sweden, the Danish Ministry of Culture and the Cultural Council of Aarhus."
This parasite is leaching off of no less than four grants. Must be nice to not have to work for a living, producing nothing of any value to society.
Indeed, as another poster said, this could only happen in a wealthy society, with money (almost literally) available to burn.
Posted by: Colin from Mission B.C. at December 15, 2008 3:36 AMThat's not "art". If you want to see art and cars mix then go to the Houston Art Car parade held every May, I believe. Their artisitc development goes beyond grafitti on a VW and takes it up a whole big notch and without taxdollars.

honestly, some of the cars are a real piece of work, and it looks like they hare having a good time too. I've been there and the crowds (and I )loved it.
