UPDATE: Chow admits to internal administration tampering of her own website poll when votes were "cast contrary to Olivia’s position". Only in the world of the the NDP!

Flashback to Lorne Calvert's "Raise A Flag" poll-rigging fiasco. What is it about New Democrat politicians that renders them incapable of accepting rejection from the voters?
You'd think they'd be used to it by now.
Morning update -
Yes! (20%, 112 Votes)
No! (80%, 462 Votes)
Total Voters: 574
8:05 EST, December 11, 2008
And then....

Olivia, thy last name is Chavez!
Update - Now the admitted poll "resetter" is claiming her website was hacked.
Amazing... what sore losers! They're so pathetic, it's time to bow out and try to save any political career they can. They've resorted to cheating. So pathetic.
Posted by: Mack at December 11, 2008 2:18 AMI was just there. They are now down to 230 voters. Wow. Amazing!! The NDP have discovered how to travel back in time. Why did I waste my vote for the Conservatives when Canada could have elected a party that possesses a most amazing and powerful ability.
The next thing you know Hack Layton will travel back in time and discover that his moustache looks cheesy and will move it to the top of his head where hair belongs.
What a bunch of idiots. Scratch that. Pathetic, cheating, lying, hypocritical, loser idiots.

OPEN COMMENT TO THE NDP....STOP IT ALREADY!
This is funny.
At 1:13 am (MST), some 3.5 hours after the vote was adjusted, there are still only 106 YES votes. That's only 4 votes in 3.5 hours. The NO votes have easily retaken the lead.
Dennis, still waiting for someone to convincingly tell me what Harper did so 'wrong' to be 'responsible' for this mess.
As of 3:17 AM EST, there are 106 Yes votes (37%) and 179 No votes (63%) for a total of 285 votes.
It appears something or someone has embarrassed Comrade Olivia into un-mis-counting the votes.(Good work, Kate! No small feat, shaming a Dipper! :-)

While I agree that a Dipper would be more likely to tamper with poll data than a real politician, I'm willing to cut Chow some slack on this one: cheap web hosting and flaky scripting could bugger up a poll as well.
I wonder if there is a script out there that will form a coalition of data for your weebsite if your polling script does not give you the results you want.

Besides, the calm, quiet, determinedly determined Michael Iggy needs them!
But in their morally relativist world where it's all about the individual and giving everyone respect no matter how little they deserve it, well this is in line with their religion.

Posted by: eastern paul at December 11, 2008 8:44 AMwho is Olivia Chow you ask?
she is the wife of BackdoorJack Layton.
former recipient of subsidized housing in trona. and coattailer of Taliban Jack. she had to get a job in the house with Jack because he wouldnt support her career as golddigger.
Posted by: cal2 at December 11, 2008 9:02 AMI was once at a forum with Ms Chow: she's thick as a board and also speaks English—and, I think, understands it—with difficulty. She seemed to understand only the broad topic: she gave short, simplistic answers to questions and did not support her fantasies with any facts. It was all platitudes and feelings.
I tutor ESL children, who have trouble with the subtleties of the English language because their knowledge of English vocabulary and structure is limited. (A normally intelligent person would have overcome those difficulties by adulthood. It’s no surprise that a person like Olivia, who still clings to Marxism, isn’t the sharpest knife in the drawer to begin with. I’ve also heard from people who’ve been at public meetings with her, that she doesn’t listen and is quite pushy about her own agenda: maybe like certain Chinese on the public transit! They push people out of the way to get where they want to be.)
It's scary to think that an opportunist of such limited talent is now an MP. She and Taliban Jack make quite the couple.
When I voted—on one of the screens: I was sort of confused—the numbers were NO: 80%; and YES: 20%.
Also, the wording is ambiguous: it would fail “Make Your Own Survey” in Sociology 101 because there were TWO propositions in the statement:
1) Chow is going to oppose the PM’s stimulus package 2) because it “provides no stimulus for the Canadian economy”.
Is one [dis]agreeing with the stimulus package being unacceptable or with her opposing it? All of this would be too complicated for Ms. Chow to process. (The two ideas should have been presented separately and the vote on one made clear.)
And doesn’t she really mean PMSH’s BUDGET? She say’s she “plans to oppose [that denotes in the future] Harper’s economic statement”. That’s not what’s going to be voted on in January: a BUDGET is going to be tabled and voted on. And, if she hasn’t yet seen it, how can she know she’ll be opposed? Really, this is getting very complicated for Ms Chow. If she saw this, I’m sure her head would be spinning—and then she’d just do her usual, knee-jerk NDP thing.
(I also find her addressing the PM as “Harper”, in an official message, most offensive. How unprofessional and petty. But, hey, that’s Jack and Olivia for you!)
Elsewhere in her letter, she pointed out that PMSH was NOT voted for by 62% of Canadians (we have a FIVE PLUS party system, for pete’s sake!). Guess what, Olivia: 83% of Cdns voted against Jack! Also, of all the political party leaders, except Lizzie, Jack was the only one who didn’t garner a plurality of the vote in his riding: he won with only 44% of the vote: Stephen Harper got 73% of the vote in his riding. (So there! Olivia, you started it.)
(Psst . . . Olivia, if you’re going to do the numbers, you’d better check out ALL of them. I know that takes some time and thought, but it helps you look less bimbo-like.)
I'm guessing that the webmaster spotted the 'yes' vote about 105votes right from the get go.
Posted by: Gord Tulk at December 11, 2008 9:05 AMThis is what happens when LOSERS attach themselves to a loser ideology. Socialism and socialists will always be parasites that live off of a capitalistic host.
Has a purely socialist state ever started its existence on its own? Of course not, it requires a capitalistic host to start, grow, and make a state plentiful before it can start sucking the life out of it.
The likes of Chow and Layton exist at the whim of people like us who clothe, feed and shelter them. They should be licking our boots with appreciation for what we have provided them, instead they look at us with contempt, as only a person who has come to the realization that their existence is dependent on those that are better than they could ever hope to be.

I will never understand the socialist mentality. Why can't they just look at the ,reality of what happens to people and governments under their policies.
Ontario dies under the NDP, soars under the Conservatives, dies under the Liberals with the same NDP policies. Saskatchewan or BC the same thing, NDP dies. Alberta has always done well under the Conservatives, killed only by the socialist policies of Trudeau/Liberals.
Why is this so hard for the leftist to see! Okay, it didn't go well last time but give us one more chance and it will work this time, trust us. Oh, by the way, just cause its not working for you doesn't mean it is not working for us!

Don't we use the word "chow" as a way of saying "goodby"? Ghow, Talaban Jack.
I heard that if Talaban Jack steped down she would become leader - the Non Democradic Party members would think the "new leader" would be a change.
Iggy said: "... only a fool would vote against the budget without looking at it." Strange that is exactly what Talaban Jack said about the comming budget in Jan. DeYawn said the same thing - this would look great in the comming election ad. Use the statement then get clip of what Talaban Jack said. Basicaly he said that the Non Democradic Party are fools - perhaps Jack did not hear statement.
"An NDP-Liberal majority coalition is ready to deliver the economic stimulus Canada needs."
Hm, the Libs/Dips intend to form a "majority" coalition without mention of any other Party! perhaps they intend to convince several Conservatives to cross the floor, what the hell, it worked with Belinda!
The most despicable aspect of socialist/communists is their propensity for obscuring the WHOLE TRUTH, and once again, here's Olivia, leaving out

"COMMUNITY UPDATE"
Blah blah blah (insert communist propaganda boilerplate)
For the first time in half a century, productivity fell and we now work more to produce less.
Facing a serious economic downturn where stock markets, oil prices, central bank interest rates and consumer confidence are sinking, it is time to change course. The same old tax cutting, slash and burn, laissez-faire approach will not work.
To protect jobs, pensions, savings, homes and deal with the real economy, the federal government must take bold and strategic steps. But both the Conservative Throne Speech and the Economic Statement do not match the urgency or the depth of what is required, nor will it ease the sleepless nights of many Canadians. As New Democrats, we are putting forward a five point plan.
1) Introduce financial regulations that protect consumers. Stronger oversight to track the $75 billion already given to secure banks. Cap credit card interest rates and transaction fees (as done in most other countries)
2) Boast (sic) productivity and combine environmental protection with economic growth. Put a price on carbon and harness the sun, wind, water and biomass. And through innovation, make us leaders in renewable technology; create green collar jobs like retro-fitting our homes and buildings.
Just a sampling of her sharpness.
It just gets worst from there.
Yes, a communist harping about productivity...how quaint.....perhaps the yield from the collective is down a little this year??
Posted by: jcl at December 11, 2008 3:12 PMThe poll-rigging behaviour sometimes known as “freeping” is a common tactic used by right-wing groups to get public opinion in their favour. “If you have to rig polls in favour of your opinion” said the administrator, “it says more about your core ethics and the weakness of your position, than it does the issue.”
Pssssssssssssssst. Hey stoopid.
One person one vote. Obviously there aren't enough people that care about your opinion to either tell others about your poll or even visit it to see what's up.
YET. People that have an opinion on the issue, find out from a website they visit about the poll's existance and then go express their vote?
That's rigging?????
No. That's the "will of the PEOPLE"...AKA "Freedom".
Think of the children and resign....yesterday.
I got right ticked off when I looked this morning and saw what had transpired last night, and then when I saw her press release that stated that her website had been hacked, I just about choked on my breakfast!! I know that I was only able to vote once, and there were many others that voted around the same time I did. I sent her an email today that said:
"Ms. Chow:
The only point I can see when you say that your website was hacked is that not all of the voters were from your constituency...but considering this was the only NDP poll out there for those of us not so enchanted by this coalition to actually vote in, and that not every constituency in Canada has an NDP representative in parliament, should you be surprised that people from other constituencies grabbed hold of the situation? The votes were not rigged, they were given freely. And for you to say that we are a "slimy few" is very underhanded. We were a group of people who saw that there was maybe a way that our voices could be heard by the NDP. I guess that we were wrong, you do not want to hear what the people of Canada want to say, you just want to be able to go ahead with your party's agenda."
Poll? What poll? There are no polls and there weren't any.
