No Details Yet On Bringing Somalia Into The Fold

Saints, preserve us;

I have never believed that there is a secret United Nations plot to take over the US. I have never seen black helicopters hovering in the sky above Montana. But, for the first time in my life, I think the formation of some sort of world government is plausible.

A “world government” would involve much more than co-operation between nations. It would be an entity with state-like characteristics, backed by a body of laws. The European Union has already set up a continental government for 27 countries, which could be a model. The EU has a supreme court, a currency, thousands of pages of law, a large civil service and the ability to deploy military force.

So could the European model go global? There are three reasons for thinking that it might.

Somehow Moe Strong also seems to come to mind.

I can't believe anybody in Canada could seriously consider a global government after last week. I mean, we're a wealthy nation at peace that's stood for more than 140 years and we almost had a unity crisis last week because some politicians wanted power.

One more thing, I'd hardly consider the EU a beacon of light and hope. You should see some of the ridiculous policies they come out with.

Canada has no reason at all to clone anything that goes on anywhere in Europe.

Posted by: Dave at December 8, 2008 11:51 PM

Funny how a leftist jerkwad like this on the one hand will proudly boast of the lowly Taliban and Al Queda "freedom fighter" in the face of global-democracy forces, but somehow freedom loving Americans are supposed to bend over and ask for more from global socialist forces.

Ah, the leftist worship of double standards. Makes me want to split their pencil heads open.

An Eu response to anything big, that involves military force??? Puhleeeeze. Two hairy bisexual hippies in a rusted out volkswagen probably carry more weight on a modern conventional battlefield.

EU, dream on. And oh, yes, the EU has responded so robustly with military force in the past: Kosovo, Bosnia, etc...

Posted by: bcf at December 9, 2008 12:02 AM

"...and the ability to deploy military force."

Notice, however, that there is a subtle, but significant, distinction between the ability to deploy military force, and the willingness to deploy military force.

The latter characteristic is notably absent from EU pols.

Until a nation state, or coalition of nation states, is willing to deploy military power in support of its interests, it will never be a serious force to be reckoned with.

re: Agenda 21

I skimmed over Agenda 21 and it's basically the Socialist's Socialism template. I liked how they talked about financing but the UN doesn't make any money itself. It takes tax payers money from nations it wants to control. How ironic.

Posted by: Phil at December 9, 2008 12:20 AM

That's truly a scary prospect.

Marxism. Communism. Fascism. Naziism.

Europe's led the world in progressive ideals, these last 100 years. Plenty to learn from the europeans, all right. I wonder if that's why none of them have been able to cobble together an individual constitution that's older than last week's leftovers, because they fall for any new political hack idea that floats by?

Canadians are in denial; you have hidden bureaucracies that are the de-facto voice of Canada operating at the UN, without government oversight.

The CHRC acts as the sovereign voice of Canada at the UN (Re: CHRC Report to the UN post on this blog)

How many other bureaucracy’s, outside the preview of the Canadian democratic Government, are conceding Canadian sovereignty to the UN every day?

It is my opinion that Global Governance was/is the ambition of the Liberal & NDP party.

It's called Hook, Line, & sinker.

The EU + Sweden is providing a naval force to patrol sea off Somalia and will be commanded by a British Admiral, about 10 nations altogether.
It's happening. Next I would like to see a force move into Zimbabwe. To avoid racial aspects of this move, black volunteers could be sourced from British and American armies.

Posted by: tranio at December 9, 2008 1:18 AM

Make no mistake a world government is bad news for individual freedom. The only winners will be government bureaucrats and politicians who will destroy freedom and install one big commie system.
A world government is a monster that must not be allowed to manifest its ugly face. Fight it at all cost, your very freedom depends on it. Money is the only thing that can set you free, a world government will fleece you like sheep. Beware!

some pants pisser -"Notice, however, that there is a subtle, but significant, distinction between the ability to deploy military force, and the willingness to deploy military force."

Notice, however, that there is a patent, and significant, distinction between the enthusiasm to deploy military force, and the willingness to pull some pants on, leave the sanctuary of your basement and evince, personally and not by proxy, the militaristic solution you impulsively favour.

I believe this is commonly known as chickenhawk syndrome.

Anyone read "1984" by George Orwell? Orwell paints a picture of the new world order from the European view.

Phillip G. Shaw is correct in that much continues to happen in favour of the UN and the push for a one world police state that the people of Canada have never been given the right the vote on. Anyone citing the EU as a model is out to lunch.

Posted by: Alain at December 9, 2008 2:31 AM

Ah. Rush. Thank you for posting a typical leftard attack. Please cite exactly where in my post I cite "enthusiasm" to use military force? How exactly do you infer that I "Impulsively favour" military deployment?

Hmmm?

Oh, that's right, it's not there. My point was, since you obviously missed it, is that if a nation state has a history of being unwilling to use military force, then that nation state will not be considered a serious threat. To wit, witness the European negotiations with Iran to stop their nuclear program. Need I say more?

But, Rush, I suppose in your world it matters more that peaceful negotiations backed by limp-dick (that is to say, non-existent) military options were used. And, who cares if the Islamo-loons in Tehran lob a nuke at Tel Aviv, right?

Typical leftard. Rush, you think the peace, prosperity and economic prosperity in the west were achieved effortlessly? Might I politely suggest the answer to this question is, "No."

Posted by: Colin from Mission B.C. at December 9, 2008 2:44 AM

It's amazing to think that people don't realize that this has been the ultimate goal, for the liberal socialist left forever!

A one world welfare state where everyone is "equal". They forget to mention of course that equal means equally poor with a few rich elitist overloards, but equal masses nontheless.

The solution to Africa is not bombs of course, they are unnecessarily expensive. STOP the aid including food, and they will starve themselves into submission. That is truly the most humanitarian thing you could do for the continent, and allow them the pride of rebuilding and striving on their own merits. Global welfare for Africa is not the answer, the west should stay out!

Chickenhawks? Puuuuuuuulease.

The only chickenhawks this old soldier can see are those retards cobbling together the "coalition of the swilling", or the "axis of idiots"!

You know the type....very hawkish until the sh1t hits the fan, and then it is the chicken running for the door as fast as they can.

Since the end of WW2, the UN's and the euroweenie's track record on anything military has been less than stellar.

Hmmmmmmmmm, can anyone say Rwanda? Somalia? Congo?
All three countries where the UN has "deployed" the military, and have wound up being "clusterf#$%'s" of humongous proportions.

As an old soldier, let me offer some advice to all of you leftoids and your demands for military intervention in these 3rd world sh1tholes. Unless you are willing to allow the use of maximum firepower(including dead civilians)leave us military types out of your one world solutions.

No army has ever defeated an enemy while fighting with one arm tied behind it's back. So, either let us do our job, or STFU.

GO ARMY !
VOTE REFORM !

Speaking of great UN actions (or lack there of) such as Kosovo or Bosnia, I recently recall a "battlefield re-enactment" of some Canadians having to go in and not all UN troops wear running shoes. I also remember that they had to sit around and play nice while Serbs, I believe, were in the village over the next hill doing some ethnic cleansing and cleaning up their tracks.

Was is hell when you have to phone back to New York for orders and also have to guess which bar they were having Happy Hour in. There has recently been some books written about the whole Balkan thing and from a Canadian prespective. Can anyone recall what the titles were?

btw, I know a few that were there and their stories tell a real different story than the msm does.

I'm surprised no one has yet mentioned the prophesy( warning) in the Bible re: one world government.
The writing is on the wall.
The UN has been at work for awhile pushing it's agenda on Third World nations.
Wake up and get ready.

Posted by: bluetech at December 9, 2008 10:18 AM

Let’s add things up that have happened of late.
Obama, possibly an illegal alien has won the US presidential election. A possible justification of that would be to downgrade the importance of citizenship. Dems love the UN, Republicans; not so much.
The G20 made steps in this monetary crises towards international oversight in domestic finance: One world monetary steps in the making.
The UN has had various meetings on controlling religious opinion and has been actively working at making the criticism of Islam an international crime. G.W. Bush and Tony Blair recently attended a meeting on religion around the same time as the G 20; what’s with that? The UN is very anti Israel and up to now anti USA.
Suddenly appear the three stooges. Layton, in lockstep with Obama. Dion, a citizen of France. All three are leftists who would gladly sink our economy and sign on to anything “peaceful” the UN could come up with.
Jan 20 the inauguration of BHO, Jan 27th the fall of the Canadian government.
I think the prophecy of Daniel could have the feet of clay and iron to be Islam & Communism.
I think Power Corp. and their world wide buddies are sure up to something!

Posted by: Trasplant Rose at December 9, 2008 11:06 AM

This movement to one world government has been ongoing for some years. Think the Clintons and their ties to China and the Earth Summit. Gore to the 'environmental movement'- Long and strong ties to the UN. Clinton and Chretien both tied to Soros and Power Corp.
We are witnessing the CULMINATION of plans to move the US and Canada into One World Government for at least the last 15 years.
THE reason the left in the US was so opposed to President Bush: He refused to recognize the World Criminal Court. Refused to sign on to Kyoto.
The Coalition formation did not happen 'by accident'. It was by design and a design that was formed outside the borders of Canada.
The Credit Crisis is a cog in the wheel. The inauguration of BHO is another.
It is not a gathering of Eagles. It is a gathering of Vultures and we are all at risk.
The LAST bastion of conservatism IS the Conservative government and Prime Minister Stephen Harper. THIS is why the left constantly scream that HE has a 'hidden agenda' and is'scary'. For it is not Stephen Harper who has a hidden agenda and he is certainly not scary to all who are freedom loving and want to be ,in most ways, masters of their own fate. The LEFT in the US and Canada are the ones who have the hidden agenda and they are TRULY scary. Particularly since they have nearly accomplished their goal of One World Government. Only a few more cogs in the wheel need to fall into place and the Coalition was to have been the catalyst for one of the most important cogs: GET RID of Stephen Harper and the Conservatives.
Another reason why another election , if forced at this time, or at the next time we are called to the polls it is very important that we give the Conservatives and Stephen Harper a huge majority. If you think the knives have been out for them now, just wait until they get a majority. It will truly be a repeat of the attacks on President Bush. You could already see the wording and methods clearly with the coalition buildup and attack.
We had all better wake up. The Republican brand is all but finished in the US. They had better return to their conservative roots big time and those of us who are the silent majority in both countries had better step up to the plate and protest this assault on our culture or we will all be finished. Then the likes of Kofi Annan and Ban Ki Moon will be our masters and we will be merely the oxen pulling hard for THEIR agenda.

We all know that Zimbabwe was at one time the bread basket of Africa. Anyone believe otherwise?

We also know that Mugabe ordered most of the “white” farmers to relinquish their land rights to indigenous black peoples. Anyone believe otherwise?

The “white farmers that did not abide by the land reforms were stricken DEAD by local villagers and or death squads sanctioned by the Mugabe government. This included vicious attacks including torture and rape of the white settlers, some of whom had lived on their land for generations. Anyone believe otherwise?

Ten years on, Zimbabwe is the typical African cess pit that we witness daily on CNN and the BBC. Starvation, cholera, riots and typical mayhem. The Mugabe government has made an international plea for some or all the displaced “white” farmers to return to their ancestral homes and again feed the nation.
Instead the international community ie: the UN has asked in their typically deceitful way that the world comes to the aid of Zimbabwe – the world meaning “Canadian, US & European white farmers” to again dig them out of their typical African shithole mess that they again created for themselves. Anyone believe otherwise?

...................I say no to this ongoing bullshit...............enough is enough. Save our taxes and our bombs and our wheat! These RACIST bastards don’t deserve the generosity of our minds, civilization and determination, neither do they have a right to our success at surviving in life, because these pathetic morons can’t even feed themselves, much less dress for dinner.
