Continues to run counter to the mainstream "wisdom" of political and media elites alike;
Fresh off his runoff victory Tuesday night, Georgia Republican Sen. Saxby Chambliss credited Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin with firing up his base.“I can't overstate the impact she had down here,” Chambliss said during an interview Wednesday morning on Fox News. “When she walks in a room, folks just explode,” he added. “And they really did pack the house everywhere we went. She's a dynamic lady, a great administrator, and I think she's got a great future in the Republican Party.”
Chambliss said that after watching her campaign on his behalf at several events Monday, he does not see her star status diminishing within the party.
The Republican also thanked John McCain and the other big name Republicans that came to Georgia, but said Palin made the biggest impact.
“We had John McCain and Mike Huckabee and Gov. Romney and Rudy Giuliani, but Sarah Palin came in on the last day, did a fly-around and, man, she was dynamite,” he said. “We packed the houses everywhere we went. And it really did allow us to peak and get our base fired up.”
Geez, can we adopt Sarah Palin , give her dual citizenship like Stephane Dion and then rip those three communist bastards to shreds in a new Canadian general election?
Hey, I know, it can't happen, but the thought is at least uplifting.
The GOP has a new saviour.
You go Sarah girl!
HAHAHAHA!!
Posted by: lberia at December 3, 2008 1:39 PMSP still rules. MSM still sucks. When will they learn, never because she is a true feminist at the finest.
Posted by: Merle Underwood at December 3, 2008 1:55 PMI liked Sarah from the first get go.
On a related note. McCain received $70 million from American taxpayers. Under Harper's plan he would have gotten nothing.

"Geez, can we adopt Sarah Palin , give her dual citizenship like Stephane Dion and then rip those three communist bastards to shreds in a new Canadian general election?"
The MSM and liberal pundits continue on their crusade to make Sarah Palin just go away.
I believe it is a toss-up as to whether their efforts are because she is a political threat or because she is a woman whose accomplishments and deeds are beyond their parochial viewpoint. To them, be they male or female, her biggest fault is that she has done it all while being a (gasp!!!) WOMAN ***AND*** a CONSERVATIVE.
This kind of entity just cannot be allowed to exist and continue to evolve in a progressive world!
Joe: if your "three communist bastards" were to be seen wearing some of those funny hats with the moose antlers on their heads than they could be considered freezer-fillers by Sarah. Otherwise, just raven scraps. ;-)
Posted by: Yoop at December 3, 2008 2:07 PMMaybe Alaska can be persuaded to join Western Canada!
The Brits really screwed the pooch on that one...not buying Alaska from the Ruskies when they had the chance.
I was thinking on some days during the election, nah, Sarah, you don't wanna take that kind of heat.
But WOW, she has that most essential quality of a successful politician and leader: grace under pressure, squared, cubed.
The vicious leftie hate/abuse just doesn't seem to get to her and she doesn't seem to be just acting out this thick skin. But maybe rather than say she has thick skin, we ought to say, "she's utterly comfortable in her skin". I am not a religious man, but I'm presuming her strong religious beliefs are a factor here. Bless her: she's a force of nature.
Come to think of it, she not only doesn't wilt, she seems to blossom as the heat rises.
It's hard to believe.
But, thank Heaven, there she is.
Posted by: peter o'keefe at December 3, 2008 2:49 PMSarah Palin's the bomb -- she's just a fantastic person and leader...whoever hates her is following the herd not thinking independently.
I heard some jackass on CFRB saying he wanted to send her a "screaming chicken." You know who you are -- Sarah would eat your lunch, and then some.
Posted by: Richard Romano at December 3, 2008 3:20 PMnot stirred:
FYI. Barack Obama REFUSED public funding and his campaign was fully supported by voluntary donations.
The day Sarah Palin was introduced, I knew she was the ultimate feminist ... a person who can balance a career and family without having to kill her future family.

Yoop, I was looking up a Churchill quote and found this one that is very appropriate re: SP
No crime is so great as daring to excel.
Posted by: Kathryn at December 3, 2008 3:57 PMYeah, what a miracle Kate. A Republican managed to keep a solidly Republican senate seat. "The Power of Palin!" wooooo. lol. I guess when you have nothing good to look forward to on the political scene you start grasping.
I pray that Palin runs in 2012. I guarantee that the defeat will be the largest in Republican history.
Posted by: steve at December 3, 2008 4:06 PMHow True!!
Sarah Palin is a refreshing breeze in the otherwise stagnant pool of politics.
Smart, unflappable, quick on her feet and a good role model for young and older women alike.
A woman who appears to know what she wants and knows how to balance her life to get there.
Posted by: simon at December 3, 2008 4:30 PMMost guarantees come with a price tag Steve...otherwise its just empty rhetoric. Which is it?
Posted by: Don at December 3, 2008 4:31 PM"Yeah, what a miracle Kate. A Republican managed to keep a solidly Republican senate seat."
I think that's a bit of an understatement. Chambliss won by 16 points, a much wider margin than anyone expected.
Personally, I hope Obama decides one term is enough and Biden gets the 2012 nomination. That would be a hoot!
Posted by: gregg at December 3, 2008 4:33 PMMuch like Dion is to the Liberals, Palin is to the Republicans.
I say keep her around. I'd love to watch the epic comic display of a Palin presidential run.
: )
Cheers!

Posted by: [hirr]Leto at December 3, 2008 4:41 PMI hope she takes over the leadership of the Republican Party and is the Candidate 2012.
It's her spirit. Ergo.....
She has such a delicious mind.
The container for said mind is exquisitely beautiful.
The ambulatory mechanism she uses to cart around her beautiful face and delicious mind is sensuously stunning, near flawless and a showstopper.
I think she is a North American husband's dream too. Can't imagine Todd crying in his beer over lack of physical affection. My guess why a lot of women really hate her.

"I pray that Palin runs in 2012. I guarantee that the defeat will be the largest in Republican history."
I will put US$ 1,000.00 (One Thousand US Dollars) on Palin to NOT be defeated by "the largest in Republican history" if she runs in 2012, to be deposited in a mutually agreed upon bank.
Since your's is a "GUARANTEE" of her defeat by "the largest in Republican history" I would expect that you would be glad to give me two to one odds.
(You should do a little research first: such as 1936- FDR vs. AL for an idea on margins you might be facing)
Gonna' take it?
When McCain introduced Sarah, halfway through her speaking, my wife stood up and declared
"I want to vote for that woman!"
That has several levels of significance:
She used to be a Democrat, changing registration in 2004 to vote against Kerry- it was not a vote for Bush at all. Kerry spooked her. Badly.
She's normally apolitical- never cared a thing about politics in 24 years.
She'll vote for, and support, Sarah in anything that lies in the future.
I've never seen anything like it before.
Well then, why don't all of you treasonous,Canada-hating, spoiled ignoramuses pack your little bags and move on up there. You'd fit right in with Palin's mentality, and you could ride out the tribulation. And best of all, you wouldn't be missed.
Posted by: manny at December 3, 2008 6:39 PMAw come on 'manny', why move up there when we are kicking the libs/ndp/blocs asses down here in good old Canada. Did you not know about the right wing conspiracy, SP is our hidden ass kicking backup.
Posted by: Merle Underwood at December 3, 2008 6:53 PMHave to agree with manny!
Palin is a disaster. One of the most unqualified people in modern politics; in any nation.
The fact that anyone would vote for her shows that ignorance is alive and well.
Posted by: sc at December 3, 2008 6:58 PMDespite what Hugo Chavez may have told you, manny, praising an American politician, even a Republican, is not treason. Otherwise Canada's Obama cult, consisting of the entire slavish media and mouthbreathing leftard population, would be guilty.
Building a coalition which relies exclusively on separatists for power, on the other hand.
Posted by: Crispytoast at December 3, 2008 7:05 PMI wasn't referring to your praise of Palin, which is perfectly fine. I was referring to the despicable, hateful commentary on this site regarding our constitutional impasse in general and western separatism in particular.
Posted by: manny at December 3, 2008 7:13 PMOh, yeah! The Power of Palin!
Didja see how she swept John McCain into the White House, enabling him to handily trounce Barack Obama?
What a landslide that was! McCain's poll numbers went up from the time he selected her as VP candidate and never went down! With Palin beside him, McCain positively buried Obama.
Don't worry - President-Elect McCain knows he owes his historic victory to his running mate. Due to the Power of Palin we can sit back and enjoy the first term of the McCain-Palin administration!
Posted by: real at December 3, 2008 7:31 PMThey hate her because of the 'c' word. Christian, that is, and go get em' Sarah.
Posted by: real conservative at December 3, 2008 7:50 PM"Yeah, what a miracle Kate. A Republican managed to keep a solidly Republican senate seat"
So dipstick, remind me again WHY there was a runnoff in Georgia.
Horny Toad
Posted by: Horny Toad at December 3, 2008 9:41 PM"real conservative":
Nope! No-one "hates" Palin because she is - supposedly - Christian.
People did reject her - as the polls show - because she was eminently unqualified for the post she was seeking. And just as bad, she didn't know or care that she was eminently unqualified. That kinda scared people.
As for the "Christian" thing - what's Christian about getting up and mocking someone for being a community organizer? Community organizers help the lowest and neediest members of society - exactly what Jesus instructed his followers to do.
What's Christian about repeatedly sliming someone with insinuations and inneundo as Palin did with the 'palling around with terrorists' talk? Have you never heard "Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour"?
How about "It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to go to heaven" or "Give all you own to the poor and follow me"?
Do those sound like the words of Palin or any other modern conservative? I don't think so. It may be time for you to start reading Jesus' words and figuring out what Christain behaviour really is.
Posted by: real at December 3, 2008 11:10 PMAccording to "real": "Being Christian" means giving up your wealth because the police or military has a gun to your back.
At least thats what they taught me in United Church Sunday School.
Jindal-Palin 2012!
Posted by: jwkozak91 at December 4, 2008 12:33 AM"Give all you own to the poor and follow me" vs. "Give a man a fish, and he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish, and he wil eat for the rest of his life." -> Self-reliance and independence.
"Give unto Ceasar what is Ceasars', and give unto God what is Gods'" -> Is Ceasar (Big Government) solely respossible for helping the poor, or can God ("SCARY EVANGELICALS") help them too?
Stick a fork in Palin, she's done, she's over! If she's Britney, I'm Pink! She's cheap white merlot & I'm Bollinger! They don't call me Queen Sh*t of Turd Island for nothing, sugar. Where the hell is Wasilla, anyway??
Posted by: Nancy Pelosi at December 4, 2008 2:14 AMThe reason Saxby Chambliss won in Georgia, was because the Democrats did not really campaign hard in that state, whilst
all the left over Republicans from the recent Presidential race went as vampires to Georgia to do their thing they are so good in: telling lies and spreading fear. Bravo bravo bravo.
Ms Palin really is not the reason for the win by mr Chambliss and the less we hear from her, the better. She is a terrifying liability for America and the world.
"because the Democrats did not really campaign hard in that state..."
Guess the Dems really, REALLY don't want a 60-seat "super-majority" then.
Interesting.
"She is a terrifying liability for America and the world."
So says Tina Fey:
-> estranged from her Greek Orthodox faith, she makes fun of the Governor of the State with more Eastern Faith believers than any other. How very multicultural.
-> growing up in Pittsburgh, separate from the way rural Pennsylvanians live and later dismissive of the "rural" half of the US population in "flyover country". How "inclusive".
Posted by: jwkozak91 at December 4, 2008 3:43 AM"telling lies and spreading fear." Uh, yeah, sure. How are those campaign promises going, btw? When do I get my tax cut?
Posted by: Tim in Vermont at December 4, 2008 9:44 AMI have a "Sarah!" yard sign that I will keep for a mighty long time. It's difficult to describe the healing power of pride when a classy conservative woman is named on a ticket. The Republican bigwigs need to pay keen attention: it wasn't Giuliani, or Romney, or Huckabee that electrified crowds. The best bet of sending the liberal illuminati packing in 2012 is to stick to GOP conservative values, and the people who articulate them best. I hope that the RNC sees its future in the faces of Palin and Jindal. I know I do.
