Thanks to everyone who's been sending emails, cc's, and tips to me privately over the past hours. I do read them all, but can't possibly use every suggestion or thank everyone individually, so allow me to do so here.
SDA is a group effort, and wouldn't be possible without the help of the guest bloggers, regular tipsters and readers - your contributions and ideas are appreciated, even if they don't all get to the main page!
Its an honor to stand on guard for thee.
Posted by: Manitoba Moose at December 3, 2008 12:59 AMThe Liberals reputation for believing that they know how to spend the tax money collected from ordinary Canadians better than we can ourselves is legendary.
What is really puzzling though is how the Liberals have been unable to manage the finances of the Liberal Party itself.
How can a Party unable to manage, or fiscally stimulate, its own affairs, run the economy of a nation?
What is so wrong with the Conservatives trying to make the Liberal Party fiscally responsible, by reducing the taxpayer contribution to the $1.95 head tax by $0.20?

ABSOLUTELY NOTHING and PMSH has nothing to wear but a nice warm coat, IMHO
Kudo's to him!
Thanks Kate,
"Cry Havoc, and let slip the dogs of war" somehow comes to mind.

Kate - you have given all of us a place to come for news and information. I can never thank you enough. You saved my sanity back in the dark ages of Liberano rule.

2) The Absent Professor (Dion) and Jacques Layton could have supported the 1.95 thing and made the Separatists barely relevant for a whole generation, but they were far more interested in power.
Blech.
Posted by: Wes Walker at December 3, 2008 3:46 AMDO YOU THINK IT'S EASY TO SET PRIORITIES?
IS THAT WHY YOU HAVE 2 OTHER CO-PRIME-MINISTERS LINED UP?
Posted by: Wes Walker at December 3, 2008 3:57 AMI suspect the traffic will only get worse. For Good or Evil SDA is the rallying point for Canadians who have simply had it with the Ottawa BS.
You speak for us, and you give us a place to speak to each other.
Thank you.

A prominent newspaper columnist warned, however, that federalists shouldn't be too gleeful about a federal government supported by the Bloc.
Michel David described how Jacques Parizeau - the former PQ premier who led the independence forces in the 1995 referendum - envisioned the Bloc's role at the time of its inception.
Parizeau predicted in 1991 that the Bloc would create a chaotic "Italian-style parliament" in Ottawa, a place so dysfunctional that it would help lead to the breakup of Canada.

Thanks jon - Amazing - this needs to be brought out to the "62% that didn't vote for Stephen Harper".
Posted by: Alberta Girl at December 3, 2008 8:09 AMKate,
you ARE the best.
Not just blogger, but I'll spread the category to "informed thinker."
It appears from your sitemeter reading that millions may agree with me.
Cheers
Posted by: biff at December 3, 2008 8:15 AMKate, I often send you CC of email which I have emailed to many different parties in order for those parties to know your site is aware of the subject at hand.
SDA IS THE MAIN CONSERVATIVE VOICE IN CANADA bar none.
MSM are corrupt and leftist in this country.
MSM are 95% leftists, corrupt, Harper and conservatism haters, therefore your site has become indispensable for conservatism in this country.
And do not underestimate your contribution to our very freedom which is currently at stake.
The troika as it is constituted ( though technically legal) is a threat to Canada.
Should that troika become the governing body Kate, Canada will have become a DEFACTO COMMUNIST run state.
RE: Queen of Green; To be so honoured to be immortalized on Canadian money makes me no longer feel like a Connetticutt Yankee in King Dion-Layton-Duceppe's court but rather a real Canadian Rodent. I will accept the offer of the senate seat to represent Quebec as proposed by their majesties. With all this experiance, if President Obama could match this position(Senate seat) without the pesky election usually involved, I would be on the first load of soft-wood (my favorite) lumber heading back home. Sincerely;Elizabeth May Senator in Waiting
Posted by: uuess at December 3, 2008 9:54 AMYea its interesting how in political science textbooks how dysfunctional government = Italian Parliament.
Seeing we have two political science professors leading this coup, they should know what is going to happen.
Posted by: Ryan at December 3, 2008 10:04 AMThis is a very informative site, there are news stories the losers in the MSM don't hear of care about for weeks, Kate, and the guest contributors do a great job, and it is people like them that will help steer this country in the right direction so our children have the stability we have had. The reason the west is successful is stability, the unstable mostly reside in the east and it is in full view now.
Posted by: bartinsky at December 3, 2008 10:23 AMThanks Kate for this blog. I sure like it.
Posted by: A Storm is coming at December 3, 2008 11:10 AMKate,
Thank You! I've just started posting, but I've been a very loyal reader forever. I live in the socialist enclave known as Windsor. It's really hard staying sane sometimes, being surrounded by the unions, all out socialists, and the 'moderates' who support the liberals.
Your site and your commenters give me hope. So cheesy sounding, but very genuine. I'm concerned for my country right now, and it gets tougher all the time being calm in the face of rabid leftism...
Again, a genuine thank you to you Kate for the forum.
Sam.
Could not of said it better 'Jema 54'. We have had 45+ tears of this bullsh*t. Now when a leader wants to cut in the government welfare programs they are screaming like the little weasels they are.
Just listening to 'Rutherford' and a person is actually on their about the people '40%' of the people that did not vote.
Posted by: Merle Underwood at December 3, 2008 11:40 AMThere is a letter to the editor in the national Post from Nova Scotia who suggests to the G.G. she meet privately with each of the leaders of the political parties in private and ask them if they will individually swear allegiance to Canada. If this swearing in is performed in public then Canadians will have a sense of commitment to fair representation for the next 18 months. We all can then judge the government on it's merits. In closing I am and have been a Stephen Harper supporter from the time he successfully established an alternative to the Liberal party. As Allen Fotheringham wrote decades ago "The Liberal Party is a nucleur submarine sailing below the surface of the public awareness". We should continue to bring this awareness into the open. Stephen Harper with his intellect and integrity in a treacherous occupation is the best person to accomplish this either as Prime Minister, which I hope, or as Leader of the Loyal Official Opposition. Cheers.
Posted by: Mike Sr. at December 3, 2008 11:57 AMI comment here from time to time and follow discussions, on the whole very enlightening except for the trolls. I mentioned something to Kate and now I'm going to ask you to read this and comment. It is too big an article to print here so if you have the time go to,
