Not Waiting For The Asteroid

Finally - the addressing root causes.

More! Sun-Times Media Group Inc. disclosed late Tuesday the pending departure of a number of executives and directors and said the struggling Chicago publishing concern intends to stop reporting financial results to the Securities and Exchange Commission.

I think most folks care less about these people folding, than they would the extinction of Lice.
They have done it to themselves. Obama will not save them. For in the end who really wants to read nothing but drivel, by historical & political morons. Who where just taught to write the PC way, not think for themselves or investigate.

Media bias? When even the media are talking about it openly (see Deborah Howell, the WaPo Ombudsman, for another example) it is surprising that people are tuning out?

WoooHooo! I only wish there was some way I, as an individual could contribute to their demise.

I long for the day when unemployed, ex-journalists will be hesitant to include their journalism experience on a resume for fear of ruining their chances at being hired for a USEFUL job.

You can lie to some of the people some of the time, but you can't lie to everybody all the time.

Funny how these simple truths of life seem to be so out of fashion in big media. Funny how fashion seems such a slender reed to hold onto in the sh1tstorm blowing out there right now.

Bankruptcy all 'round!

From the second article, this is an astoundingly stupid piece of editorializing when talking about a company that has been lead to its deathbed:
"The special committee served stockholders well when it resisted then-majority owner Black's efforts to stifle the investigation, and it had unusually broad powers during the power struggle that led to Black's ouster as CEO."

A couple of the deals Conrad made may not have been entirely kosher, but when he was in charge he ran successful media companies. This special committee utterly destroyed whatever shareholder value existed and they call that serving stockholders "well"???? If that's serving them well what would actual abuse look like?

Meanwhile, Conrad sold most of the rest of the Hollinger papers to Canwest at the top of the market, and Canwest has also since become a penny stock on the edge of bankruptcy. It's hard to believe that out of those deals the SEC has decided that it's Conrad that deserves jail time.

Speaking of Lord Black, you will find his reflective and bitter OpEd for the Times here:

"From my cell I scent the reeking soul of US justice."

I'd tried to provide a clickable link but sometimes Kate's Internet security catches me up on the @ or # or I don't know what.

Cheers,

Does this mean more stringers will be doing their reporting for them? seems like a downward spiral after some of the crap AP did in Lebenon and in Iraq reporting the progress of these wars using stringers. I guess it'll be more of the same from these morons. The problem here is not that they have too many people, its that they have the WRONG people.

Once everything of value has been consumed, they can release a report full of self praise and depart. Vultures, their distant kin, must regard them as gods.

What a dereliction of Constitutional duty these idiots have brought us.
I leave it to site like this to inform me, through the filters of my choosing, rather than the choosing of some journalism graduate who longs to "change the world."
History will not be kind to the role the Main Stream Press played in the dumbing down of our culture.
See the Obama voters for Exhibit A.
