I loathe hypocrisy. Most of the "greenies" I meet spend their time travelling the world to "experience the joys of the planet". I rarely travel. I'm sure I consume less fossil fuels than many greens, it's my personal choice not necessarily my credo.
All I can say is thank heavens Calgary is contemplating trashing their recycling program. Thank heavens for small mercies.

Most people appear to take what they hear as gospel. The left are the masters of marketing/propaganda so when you have an intellectually lazy population who chooses not to think critically, you end up with AGW hysteria. The left is brilliant at appealing to peoples intuition. "War is bad" that sounds good. "HUMAN RIGHTS commissions" who could be against human rights? "Pollution is bad" duh! As long as you can keep the discussion at this level, the left will always have a large following; but, if you can challenge people to think critically about these issues, the contradiction in words and actions becomes very clear. The main hurddle is that type of thinking takes work; which, we know the left hates.
