$600 million doesn't go as far as it used to. The candidate of hope needs a little more change.
Posted by Kate at November 14, 2008 8:51 AMMust have been all the pre-paid Visa cards they handed out to the "volunteers" during the last week. Hate to be paying the interest on that loan.
Posted by: Matt at November 14, 2008 9:04 AMServer won't let me in but I'm not surprised that the bookkeeping is less than stellar. This is what America is in for on January 21st. Cha-ching.
Posted by: Texas Canuck at November 14, 2008 9:08 AM"$600 million doesn't go as far as it used to. "
And that's the exact excuse the "O" will use. "Well,in a er,uhm, recession, you know etc"
Like on commentor said, wait'll he(I would add and the wifie)gets his hands on the treasury!!!
Link's busted, Kate.
I hear the DNC is selling t-shirts to pay off their giant frickin' debt.
You know, maybe I'm just, oh... conservative or something, but the very idea of a political party running up the ol' credit card like that make my hair stand on end. They can't even run an election on budget, we're going to trust 'em with the whole treasury? Dang!
Posted by: The Phantom at November 14, 2008 9:14 AM$600 Hundred Million is all they are claiming ?
That's crap, Obama raised that much in September alone.
Hey Kate,, have you seen Debbie Schlussel's take on Obama's Selective Service Registration Card ?
,
Think about that for a brief moment.. he collected more than any other candidate in history, his war chest dwarfed that of John McCain, and, yet, he couldn't balance his campaign budget.
Kinda makes you scratch your head and go, "huh"?
Posted by: Rob Harvie at November 14, 2008 9:27 AMA portentous headline for sure.
Not that it makes much difference for the States given Bush's track record. :)
Posted by: mark peters at November 14, 2008 9:44 AMThe only thing that leaves me wondering is when the real election scandal will hit, where a large portion of these campaign funds came truthfully from. I don't pretend to know anything more than anyone else but given the track record of these people you just know there's something else there.
This leads me to another question, I wonder if there are any true investigative reporters left in this world?
Posted by: Western Canadian at November 14, 2008 10:09 AMMaybe Oprah can cough it up. Or better yet, have the brain dead Barbara Streisand put on some kind of a benefit concert to make up the short fall.
Posted by: John Luft at November 14, 2008 10:15 AMThe link works - it seems that some browsers have problems accessing Don Surber's site.

Pay or I "sing"!
Posted by: Edward Teach at November 14, 2008 10:43 AMWierd. Fox and Friends Live at 6am was praising Obama for "spreading the wealth". Apparently he is paying his campaign staff an extra months wages - tiding them over to Christmas. And they have the option of keeping Campaign laptops and blackberries.
I am not entirely convinced that he can afford to be that generous with a 17% deficit. That said, I am, for some reason, not allowed to access the server of the link above. How reliable is it?
Posted by: Dim at November 14, 2008 10:46 AMWell in that case it'll be fun to watch when they clean up the illegal donations "at the back end" as they promised.
Posted by: greenmamba at November 14, 2008 11:09 AMI don't know what you'll talking about a 17% deficit and selling t-shirts !!! BO raised well over a billion dollars!!! The first question should be "Where's the other $400,000,000.oo " and the second question should be, "Why are there people coming forward with credit card statements that show donations of anywhere between $50,000.oo and $200,000.oo given to the BO campaign along with credits to their card to off set these donations" Who actually made those donations, and why isn't anyone in the media interested in finding out. God help us if the internet is ever restricted or controlled!
Posted by: Carl at November 14, 2008 11:24 AMWestern Canadian re investigative reporters - AMEN!
Posted by: Erik Larsen at November 14, 2008 12:02 PMWhat more can you expect from a guy who hasn't run so much as a hotdog stand? Stay tuned - its going to get very interesting. Voodoo economics will rule the day with this guy. (now lefty - don't go saying that this is a racist comment - puleeeese!)
Posted by: a different bob at November 14, 2008 12:05 PMJust as one casual example: I overheard on Sirius Talk Radio that the female Ohio bureaucrat who investigated Joe the Plumber's background also managed to scratch together $2500.00 to "donate" to the Obama campaign. To me that seems like a huge amount for an individual to contribute. I wonder who gave her the cash to donate? Soros? Strong? It will be interesting to see how the Great One tackles his own scandalous campaign donations. Then he can move on to Fanny Mae and Freddie Mack. Yeah, right.

Posted by: Soccermom at November 14, 2008 1:25 PMHard to believe that he spent that much money when he had so much free advertising done for him by a mostly fawning MSM.
A wag on a financial site stated that there are 2 words the Big Owe will never get to say as long as he is POTUS and they are 'balanced budget'.
I don't get it - this article says he's flush with cash
Posted by: Erik Larsen at November 14, 2008 4:54 PMShoot sorry:

Posted by: Erik Larsen at November 14, 2008 4:57 PMSorry, forgot to include the hyperlink, then including it is delaying the posting.
An article on the Drudge Report indicates that Obama is letting campaign staffers keep BlackBerries, computers, or get an extra months' pay
