I Think I've Come Up With A Solution

Rename the category "Left-Wing Hairy Vagina-Gazers Who Can't Compete With The Boys" and I'll ask my nomination to be withdrawn.

(Update - Anticipating the flurry of deletions, I've saved the original page content here. Note that the name "admin" was altered after the fact to read "Not admin".)

Nice slapdown Kate. That's the best thing I've read in days! ~:D

They've got Weblog Awards now!?!

:-)

Posted by: Kathy Shaidle at November 4, 2008 10:38 AM

Maybe if you "gals" would whine about the perils of womanhood and how evil Bush is you might be able to win the "hairy beaver" award.

The femi-nazi movement is SOOO 1926. These gal-qaeda members are just bitter about their lot in life (poor, untalented, mean, nasty and ugly) and would rather whine about it and blame it on some mythical prejudice that hasn't existed for several decades, than get off their asses and get on with life.

Anyways, great retort Kate and Kathy. I'm sure it pisses these razor impaired bitches off to no end that ladies such as yourselves do more to advance women's status in the world than they can ever dream of.

Do you buy batteries for the electric razor or the vibrator so she can carry our Kate's wish?

Furry beaver is fine. It's the braided pit hair and sasquatch legs that scare the hell out of me...

Posted by: Richard Evans at November 4, 2008 11:02 AM

they were hoping for purely the birkenstock sect that walk around in wooly socks held up by backcombing their legs. straight hair parted in the middle , macrame skirts , braided pits , kind of a unkept Margaret Atwood look. or the underside of Margaret Trudeau at club 54, without the sheer dress.

Posted by: cal2 at November 4, 2008 11:03 AM

You know what your problem is Kate? You are not a victim; neither do you pretend to be a victim, pose as a victim or ask for some sort of compensation for your non-existent victimhood. All THEY ask for is that you demean yourself by making the tacit inference that all females are inferior by virtue of the fact they have been victimized by males and THEY will not only elevate and celebrate you as a PROGRESSIVE feminist they will blackmail the government into flying you around the globe to drink lattés with other worthy feminists. Or, you can belligerently go on being your superior self and continue to screw up the feminist victimhood industry. Whatever works for you works for us.

Posted by: EyesWideShut at November 4, 2008 11:04 AM

HAHAHAHAHA!

That award is about 50 years too late.
We don't need no feminist award!

Posted by: tracy at November 4, 2008 11:05 AM

Cal, note how similar your description sounds to an APB for the Manson Family :-)

Posted by: Kathy Shaidle at November 4, 2008 11:12 AM

That was the best, most concise exchange I have seen in a while. Usually I ignore writers that swear but somehow your response seemed entirely appropriate. Progressive feminists annoy me. They are the whiniest and most self-righteous beasts around.

"Those blogs that are devoted to gender equality, write about women’s issues, or write from a feminist perspective are eligible for this category."
*jaw dropped*
Man! (Oh, sorry, "Woman!) There's a recipe for a nationally recognized, hugely popular weblog...not.
Doesn't the CBC already cover that?
The fact that an award is being proposed for this category should be embarrassment enough; "We can't make it in the real world..."

Posted by: DaninVan at November 4, 2008 11:38 AM

Looking for a definition of a feminist, I came across this one at www.feminist.com:
What is Feminism?
"[Feminists are] just women who don't want to be treated like shit."
It seems that Kate qualifies easily according to this definition by her response to Admin @ November 3, 2008 at 9:13 pm.

Posted by: Daniel at November 4, 2008 12:02 PM

Kate you are like a John McCain. Knocking them out with one punch. Best delivery of a short, matter of fact statement that could not be took any other way except the way it was delivered.

Posted by: tomax7 at November 4, 2008 12:09 PM

Posted by: tomax7 at November 4, 2008 12:11 PM

I disagree with Raphael Alexander's opinion of Kathy Shaidle, but I think he pegged it pretty well in the comments.

The admin's comments illustrate perfectly the very narrow and modern-liberal definition of "authentic feminism." Kate isn't modern-liberal, so she doesn't qualify.

It is for the Best Feminist Blog, not Best Female or Best Feminine, big diff. if you ask me.
I noted who the nominator was to, Dino. is likely blinded.

Posted by: blanks at November 4, 2008 12:28 PM

Kate...best response to nitwits I've seen in awhile. You just know you scare the hell out of them when they jump in so fast to belittle you and SDA. But I think they should rename it"Best Socialist with Hairy Legs and Thinks She has a blog somebody reads".

Posted by: Justthinkin at November 4, 2008 12:35 PM

Never really considered Kate a feminist.

More of a common sensist. To coin a new word.

Posted by: AtlanticJim at November 4, 2008 12:38 PM

So Kate parries with:

"Dear admin;

You can go fuck yourself very much, please."

Succinct, again. But, middle-prairie polite...

I suspect that must be a bit like "Minnesota-Nice" ;-)

Posted by: Texas Canuck at November 4, 2008 2:08 PM

Bad attitude, all of you. To win this award one must write about gender equality. Actually achieving it in the real world in fair competition is not only insufficient, it's downright counterproductive.

Besides which, the award is only open to progressives. Conservatives need not apply, as they are part of the oppressive patriarchial militaristic capitalistic western-centric hegemony.

This thread could get NSFW real fast which is a pitty in a way because there are a lot of us SDAers that can share the off coloured joke without crying to the HRC.

Posted by: Texas Canuck at November 4, 2008 2:14 PM

Jim....so sorry to tell you this, but Sandy doesn't have a hope in hell of winning this "award" you nominated her for. After browsing her blog,I found her to be a thoughtful, educated, open to ANY and ALL opinions, considerate woman. That right there disqualifies her from the "feminist" award. Also she uses the dreaded "c" word,AND dares compare modern feminism to neo-Maxism! Nice try though.(I did however bookmark her..hehe)

Posted by: Justthinkin at November 4, 2008 2:36 PM

"Cal, note how similar your description sounds to an APB for the Manson Family"

And also note how so many leftists thought the Manson murders were cool, and furthermore note how expressing admiration for them is in no way a barrier to acceptance in progressive circles.

Posted by: pst314 at November 4, 2008 2:41 PM

Not that it took two minutes to post, but for me to rush back to the machine in case the wife reads it...

Isn't the definition of a feminist someone who thinks that any woman who (like Kate or Palin) actually lives a strong, professional, independent life is a sellout?

Posted by: Warwick at November 4, 2008 3:18 PM

Just a thought on the braided pit hair... Is that something they do on their own or do they have to have someone help them? I can imagine that a "feminist" could probably do a one-handed braid but how in the hell do they get the little elastics on the ends?

Posted by: Richard Evans at November 4, 2008 3:28 PM

I'm tempted to join in the pussy-oriented talk, but I'll exercise self-discipline and save it for private email...

Anyway, this post reminded me- the nominations for the 2008 Weblog Awards are open now.

http://2008.weblogawards.org/

We'll see what happens then. Will I be a finalist again in "Best Canadian Blog"???

Posted by: Canadian Sentinel at November 4, 2008 3:56 PM

Yes, I think those women have issues. It's proper and fitting for them to study them.

Here's one such women's issue to study: "Why is that no man can stand me for more than 1/2 hour, and how do I gang up with other women (wo-persons?) to rationalize it and mask my anger?".

The grapes of the males were probably sour, anyway.

"Competeing with the boys"

The big hairy beavers are the angriest lot at the Gay Parade.
Just make your way down there during the parade and ogle the topless hotties and these gigantic ugly bulls try their confused version of the 100 mile menacing prefight staredown thingy.
It's absolutely hilarious and somewhat disconcerting that they can be so angry at their own celebration.

By “one of us”….you no doubt mean folks who think a “Women’s Studies” Degree actually means something. (It’s a degree in Victimhood..nothing more)

Frankly, the “ladies” who find great pleasure in slagging women like Kate and Kathy because they dare to think for themselves regardless of what others’ think cannot hold a match to either one of them.

I’ve read these so-called “progressive” blogs before, and frankly, the arguments presented are about as complex as a one layered onion. No wonder they make as much impact as the sound of one hand clapping.

If you want impact….go visit SDA or 5 Feet…that’s what GOOD writing looks like. Not the whine-fest one is liable to read here. Sheesh!!!..

That thread might just be the funniest thing I have read in years.

Posted by: Dean at November 4, 2008 5:12 PM

It is pretty funny, true enough.

The thread calls for nominations. Illiterate posters try to vote, posting redundant re-nominations ad nauseam. This clutter gets deleted, with clear explanations for why it is unhelpful. Paranoia and rightwing victimology takes over: we're persecuted/censored/PC-ified by eeeeevil feminists!

Meanwhile, literate posters lacking this sense of paranoia seem to have had no problem figuring out how the process works...

The big problem with feminists is that they're as bad or worse than "the good old boys" whom they accuse of preventing women from meeting their full potential.

Well, guess what? Irony of ironies, the feminazis have done the same thing to women with whose views they disagree.

I have no problem with the fact that feminists don't agree with me--or me with them. I have a HUGE PROBLEM with their attitude, which is to shut out the opinions of women with a different view of equality from theirs. They natter on and on about "diversity," "inclusiveness," and "equality," and yet treat diverse female opinions with disdain, completely shut out women they don't agree with, and treat us with contempt, certainly not as equals.

They should take a lesson from the lowly boomerang: What goes around comes around.

Ain't that the truth, Fred. I'm sure Kate and Kathie could pull some stats of the sitemeter site and show us exactly HOW much more, but their humility won't allow it.

Ok, we waited long enough... c'mom K & K.... let's see the stats!

They both rock regardless.

I’ve temporarily taken down all the comments that do not contain a nomination because we simply don’t have time to wade through them all. The SDA controversy was started by a troll, not by one of us.

"not by one of us" doesn't sound inclusive or tolerant does it.

I bet they've never deleted so many comments.

sda deserves a category of her own.

sda's fan base seems to think that it's all about feminism but based on observations there seems to be 2 types of feminists and/or women. Those sda's male admirers want to f**k and those they do not. They are very clear about which category they assign to sda.
