The trust deficit explained, in one easy photo cropping.
Posted by Kate at October 4, 2008 7:35 AMYou're making way too much of this, Kate. The photo does nothing for either political party. It's probably just a technical accident.
Posted by: RSP at October 4, 2008 8:43 AMHey - What is Liz May doing in that Photo - I thought she was all about "made in Canada"

Posted by: Sean McAllister at October 4, 2008 10:07 AMThe MSM has become one big lie every day, they should headline every paper with your all gonna die tomorrow. They would never be wrong. They have vigorously trotted out global warming for years and years providing idiots the podiums to harp at govts. to do something, save the planet, well how's that working for everyone, the money for all these bull... schemes had to come from somewhere, and it came from everyone, now we are all broke, California is only the first to declare as it should be, they are the first idiots to jump on the socialist bandwagon. This was the master plan by the commies of this world from the start, to break the capitalist system. The proof is here in the canadian election. Why are these phoney teat sucking groups like Sierra Club, WWF, Suzuki foundation all ganging up to make sure Harper is defeated? He is the last defence we have here in Canada to stop these money stealing charlatans from enslaving everyone for this great lie global warming. Not enslaving like the cotton fields, no it is extremely high taxes, keep it coming peons, Mo, and his ilk have almost succeeded, unless Harper is given a majority. Think the green shaft is anything but the NEP in drag, lets not find out. I remember the NEP all to well. Harper is the first prime minister in 40 years that is not running this country for the benefit of a certian Quebec money family, and it is driving these liberal leeches crazy.
Posted by: bartinsky at October 4, 2008 10:11 AMI too thought at first that it was Lizzie May in the background but realized it wasn't since the woman has her mouth shut.
Posted by: Malcolm Cross at October 4, 2008 10:35 AMNewspapers always take 10's or 100's of photos at these events. That's the one they chose and it says a great deal.
On a related not, and I'm sure he meant no harm, but I would never rest my hand on the child of a person I've met for the first time. It lacks class, it's took quick an intrusion into someone's personal space, and it makes him look like a used car salesman.
Posted by: TJ at October 4, 2008 10:47 AMTJ....please don't insult used car salesmen. I sure wouldn't buy a car,or anything,from that guy.

I tend to agree with RSP here. But, the MSM has so fundamentally lost the public trust over the last few years and, in particular, these past several months, those of us with antennae for MSM shenanigans may overreact from time to time.
In this case, I suspect the cropping was accidental because, quite frankly, the picture makes no sense post-crop. Biden, his hand on someone else's child, pointing to no one in particular? Makes no sense at all.
Posted by: CJ at October 4, 2008 1:34 PMIf you want to see a real example of media bias, just look at today's Washington Post website:
http://www.washingtonpost.com
That is what we are up against.
RSP 1:40 PM you sure are correct there.
Posted by: TJ at October 4, 2008 2:20 PMfrom CBCpravda story.
At least four NDP candidates, including McKeever, have resigned or been expelled, as well as at least one Conservative and two Liberals.
implies there are more conservatives that resigned. there are not.
just the usual drivel from the mothercorpse.

Two possibilities here.
(1) Lazy journalism -- coming from CBCPravda I wouldn't entirely discount this possibility. The writer was too damned lazy to take a few minutes to research. He/she was pretty certain there was only one resigned/expelled conservative candidate, but instead of researching to confirm, qualified the statement.
(2) Biased journalism -- again, not surprising considering the source. It's an easily verifiable fact that only one conservative hopeful has fallen on his sword during the campaign. The addition of the phrase "at least" implies there may be more, now or in the future.
Either scenario is unacceptable.

Posted by: trucman at October 4, 2008 6:31 PMWatching question period gag, this is nothing short of a lieberal election ad.At least Peter McKay got a shot off at giggles when after repeated digs of"you didn't mention ms mae once"he shot back,"why should I" ? The look on her face priceless. Then on to Oliver and boob rae sounded to me like the owl wants to be Ray's campaign manager when he goes for the lib crown. What a crock of $hyt.
