Update - a video response: Obama/Marx '08

I couldn't finish the video. It was too depressing. What totally disgusted me was that episode #2 appeared to be taking place in a school. Could that have been a public school? At that point, I just shut the video off.

Posted by: RSP at September 30, 2008 2:23 PM

Oh Great Leader, we will march in solidarity in the Great Parade.

Posted by: Fred at September 30, 2008 2:23 PM

Well, it does seem that the rats have followed him . . .

Posted by: grok at September 30, 2008 2:26 PM

I too couldn't stomach any more than half of this nauseating video of little kids being exploited by their socialist parents and, presumably, teacher.

Someone wiser than I said "Every disaster is a change too".

Sure applies to the Obamamessiah...

Posted by: Bruce at September 30, 2008 2:28 PM

Jeez, now THAT was scary! Too much like those kids
in North Korea praising their Great Leader. Or maybe the Komsomol, circa 1959.

Posted by: Malcolm Cross at September 30, 2008 2:28 PM

This disturbing video reminds one of school children being forced to sing about their messianic leaders like Mao, Pol Pot, Mussolini, Castro...etc

Now who are the real fascists peddling a cult of personality?

Posted by: OttRob at September 30, 2008 2:32 PM

Is Obama on any Friday soon plan to change
Joe Biden to new VP?

only change he may need to?

Posted by: new at September 30, 2008 2:35 PM

You owe me for the lunch I just threw up.

Posted by: Norman at September 30, 2008 2:38 PM

I hope the kids with Republican parents stayed home that day.

Posted by: EBD at September 30, 2008 2:47 PM

Spread freedom? I wouldn't listen to these kids they apparently know nothing about politics...

Posted by: K Stricker at September 30, 2008 2:48 PM

Yes I hate optimism, and looking forward to a better future too. If only these stupid people would embrace fear and a message of "more of the same". I can't understand why anyone especially children would embrace a positive message and hope for a better tommorow. Did you see Obama during the debate, treating McCain with respect and trying to stay on a positive note as McCain talked down to him.( what a loser) Focusing on toipcs which try and divide the american people and instill them with fear are the keys to a republican win.

Posted by: cynical cynic at September 30, 2008 2:50 PM

The video drives home the point that the Obama campaign has actually morphed into a “religious” movement. His fervent supporters have attributed to him the status of a savior who will deliver solutions to all problems. So much so that they are willing to inculcate uncritical devotion to him among their children and exploit their children for the benefit of his ascendance to power.

And, they don’t even realize they have fallen into a cult.

Posted by: texan at September 30, 2008 2:54 PM

"Focusing on toipcs which try and divide the american people and instill them with fear are the keys to a republican win."

I thought Obama was considered the stronger candidate on the impending eco-geddon. Now I'm confused.

Posted by: K Stricker at September 30, 2008 2:54 PM

I really feel sorry for those kids. Pure indoctrination. The Obama Youth Movement. Liberal Fascism at its best. Get 'em while they're young.

Posted by: Ghost of Ed at September 30, 2008 2:58 PM

Ohhh... right I forgot that John McCain is a sexist, philandering man who was involved in the 1st big Financial disaster in the S&L crisis with the Keating Five and lo and behold look who is still around and part of another great mess. Oh.. right his current campaign manager was only receiving a ton of cash monthly from Fannie and Freddie to help their own cause. What a liar. McCain says he is against lobbyists but has them in has back pocket and according to many news reports was bedding another. He's a real maverick. A frickin loose cannon who will do whatever he wants.

The Obama comparisons to Communists and others is no different than a Liberal candidate calling the Conservatives a bunch of Nazi's.

Real far-reaching stuff from these incredibly "righteous" right-wing nutters.

At least I can be considered relatively neutral

You wonder why it is hard to find stuff about Stephen Harper. It's because he is a good man. Hard to find dirt on a good man. The same thing with Obama, another good man.

The MSM is concentrating on Sarah Palin because she is the perhaps the politically dumbest and most unqualified politician to take center stage and nobody in their "right" or "left" mind should allow this idiot into the White House.

The UK food ration and the NY Times jet setting article have absolutely nothing to do with the blog article. It reinforces nothing. It's like grabbing for a straw while drowning in a river instead of grabbing a log. Both the right and left sides of the political spectrum have talked about "reasonable" greening technologies in the USA. The left in Canada are not reasonable.

The whole blog article smacks of the "Hidden Agenda" that Liberals accuse the Conservatives of planning.

As for the Democrats having the ability to pass the bailout; it all comes down to individuality. Some people accept the plan as it. Some want more.
It was the same of both sides politically but a higher percentage voting against were Republicans.
They hate the idea they are government in power and responsible for the mess and any vote for a bailout is admitting responsiblity.

The whole Liberal party was branded corrupt during the previous election in Canada because of the brown paper bag scandal. It sticks.

K stricker

I don't recall Obama saying the world will end if McCain is elected - in fact he compliments him and treats him with respect at all times from what I've seen. Where as take a look at how Obama is treated - somehow people are to believe that Obama will turn the US into a Soviet Union or North Korean gulag, that's also a muslim theocracy and more idiotic ridiculous fearmongering suggestions. With all the serious problems occuring in the great USA - it's unfortunate both canidates can't honestly debate the real problems with mutual respect and let the best candidate win. powerful interest don't want this to happen - don't you ever wonder why?

Posted by: cynical cynic at September 30, 2008 3:10 PM

Shades of the hitler youth movement, scary shite.

Obamessiah is just another anti-christ, or maybe the anti-christ. Feel real fear for my birthplace.

Posted by: dolly at September 30, 2008 3:11 PM

Don't forget what we had in Canada. Singing O'Canada before classes started. Singing Christmas carols before they became offensive to some small minorities and yes even prayers if you were in a religious school.

Yet, if some teachers who are for a particular candidate teach children a song of praise; it gets chastised. I hope the same people that are teaching these children a song will also get them to sing "God Bless America".

We should bring back "O Canada" in our schools.

Posted by: FightingForDemocracy at September 30, 2008 3:15 PM

Dolly stole my thunder. Obama Youth should hereafter be called the Blueshirts. I hope they don't have mandatory footwear.

Posted by: C_Miner at September 30, 2008 3:16 PM

Although it will be terrible for America, I almost wish that he wins.

The gap between his ability to inspire hope and the results this wanna-be socialist will deliver will be a stunning reality check for the "Progressives"

But they will have Bush to blame so they won't learn anything anyway, just dig their hole deeper and deeper.

Hitler's modern day Liberal fascists indoctrinating new brown shirts, Obama's green shirts.

Posted by: Western Canadian at September 30, 2008 3:23 PM

This is off topic, but I had to post it anyway.
Today Bob Fife, on CTV, read an e-mail from the Liberal campaign office asking for money for for the depleted Liberal bank. He noted it was the last day to donate.
I wonder if he'd do the same if the Harper campaign ran out of funds.
Media bias? Nah, can't happen.

Posted by: Ghost of Ed at September 30, 2008 3:34 PM

The Hitler Youth had better choreography and more sincerity. These kids look like they were just sloughing through another one of their parents Earth Day concerts.

Posted by: Cal at September 30, 2008 3:34 PM

What a disgusting shame to be using school children for partisan politics.
Was this school sponsored by Oprah?

Posted by: Liz J at September 30, 2008 3:39 PM

The funny thing about these kids is that in about in the next 10-20 years or so, they'll be on ""blogs"" and the like at each others throats like the rest of the USA is right now!

But for now, bless them, they're just kids.

The video I had posted a link to at 3:04 contains footage from Germany....

Posted by: Brent Weston at September 30, 2008 3:45 PM

This is the result of two generations of 'liberalism', we have paved the road for 'national socialism'. If this rings a bell think of the Hitler Youth. We have parents too afraid to speak out for fear of being branded "racists" and we have the third generation being 'brainwashed' in state sanctioned 'liberal' educational institutions. The next step is to get the children into a pre-school 'care' centres where the 'education' can begin earlier. And the best part is we have parents who are sock puppets who can't see where the problem is and think the dems and libs are going to save them. I lament for all of the Allied servicemen that sacrificed everything for the freedoms that are being slowly eroded away in the West by the charlatans the MSM have elevated to the position of 'saviour'. Layton, Dion, Rae, Ignatief, May, in Canada and Obama in America are selling a repackaged program of "Hope and Change" that they say will fix all of our problems and the electorate seem to be buying it. We, as a society in the West, stopped teaching about the last national socialist government that was led by a 'saviour', you might remeber him if you're over fifty, under his governance his promises evaporated into a world war. The irony of this was he left an ironic epitaph, that being, "Work Shall Set You Free".

"Can't" or won't.

I don't send my child to school for political indoctrination.

There's also a difference between the national anthem and a song of praise for a specific presidential candidate.

Posted by: bluetech at September 30, 2008 4:48 PM

You are so correct Chairman Kaga. The President is just a paid public servant, with a four to eight year mandate. Worshiping a 'I wanna be the President' man is creepy and stupid. What are the parents in that video thinking? If the Big 0 had already proved himself by being a President who accomplished extraordinary things during his mandate (like George Washington or Thomas Jefferson), children could honor him with a song or a statue; after the fact.

In my opinion, some of those kids looked nervous and non too happy about the bouncing teacher and the fanatical 'song'.

Posted by: Guess What at September 30, 2008 6:13 PM

literally forming young minds in this manner is as criminal an enterprise as the indoctrination of children to accept homosexuality as a mere choice.....

it's obvious young minds should have as few preconceived notions as possible regarding the heavier responsibilities and choices available in society...let them make their own mistakes when they reach their majority....straightjacketing and shortchanging their thinking at this stage of development is not what the early years of education are meant to do...

Obama wrapped up the all-important foreign non-voting demographic in Berlin.

Once he gets the non-voting kiddie demographic on side, how can he lose?

So I do hope this YouTube video is being stored for use later should he win. It'll be handy to punctuate the doubtless disappointments to follow as his administration has to come to grips with the real world.

And I actually don't say this simply to beat up on the senator; it's just that his supporters are creating mythic expectations he simply won't be able to meet.

Indeed, he has already failed them and they don't even realize it: neither he nor anyone else in Congress (including McCain) seems to have the slightest clue about the current financial mess.

Not auspicious by any measure.

Actually, for a perfect comparison, check out this short "Pioneer" video from the USSR.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aBoBc-ifDmk

Pioneer's were like a cross between the Boy Scouts (but more political) and Hitler Youth (but not so militant).

The first rule of communism is to replace religion that focuses on a higher (but unseen) power with a personality cult - to essentially make the religion about the leader.

That's why all "gods" from Jesus to Lenin (to now Obama) are always portrayed with children. Gods must be shown as father-figures.

Posted by: bryceman at September 30, 2008 7:56 PM

John West:

Anyone stupid enough to suggest that a potential president of the US, or PM of Canada, regardless of his/her political stance, should be taken out by gunfire should not be permitted near the internet. And frankly, possibly prosecuted because what you posted is close, if not over the line, of criminality.

Kate: I agree with Me No Dhimmi...delete the 5:01 post as well. There is no place for this type of garbage on your excellent blog.

Posted by: Kate at September 30, 2008 8:15 PM

A warning about the link I referenced to the Pioneer video that Kate just added to the post:

My wife (who is Russian) says that the subtitles past the first little girl speaking are not at all what is represented on the screen. The lyrics go more like:

"We, the children, are proud of our sunny countryside, cities, deer fields (lands, and forests).

"We love the motherland (actually fatherland)..."

But, the spirit of the Pioneers is still the same. They worshipped Lenin and wore little buttons with a childhood photo of Lenin on them.

Posted by: bryceman at September 30, 2008 8:50 PM

I'm cross posting a comment that I made at the PM site:

It fits with his fascist Truth Squads that are in place in various cities monitoring the landscape and ready to muzzle any soiling of the Obama story by the opposition. They’ve tried to lean on tv stations too.

The really sad thing is that this dangerous little nitwit and his soft gloved brownshirts, well at the beginning until they can unleash the DOJ on any opposition, are probably going to win.

There is something sad and sick about parents that politicize their children. No wonder that critical thinking skills are in decline. Obviously in those homes the free exchange of ideas and debate are missing.

God bless our country. Either we morph into a very different country or there is a huge backlash to this when people get their heads out of the sand at some point in the Obama administration. It’s all so depressing.

Posted by: penny at September 30, 2008 9:00 PM

The Fox News blog on this story has over 5,600 comments. The ones I looked through all say its scary or worse.

Posted by: John Nicklin at September 30, 2008 9:00 PM

Creepy. Before I watched the Lenin video, my thoughts of the Obama video were, "Gee, the only thing missing is a Big Brotheresque photo of the Obamessiah hanging on the wall behind the children."
Then, watching the old Lenin video, and the big mug of Lenin hanging behind them.

Both videos equally disturbing, in any event. I would never use my child as a political prop, and it's disgusting to me that these children are being used in such a way. Shame on their parents.

Posted by: CJ at September 30, 2008 9:01 PM

First he backstabs all his running mates for the position of Senator , including going after his mentor to run unopposed. Of course using lawyers. Then the Palin dirt drop of 25 lawyers in Alaska by Obama. Keeping with the theme he now has truth squads including public officials with police “enforcing” the TRUTH of Obama messiah. This guy is a Third world thug.

Than we have the children sing as unto the chosen one. Fact is there was nothing different in the soviet vid than Obama’s, except the passage of time, language & location. God save America from this would be tyrant. Because that’s exactly what he will be if given the chance. This guy makes Taliban Jack look like an evil dwarf by comparison.
Obama will be a Mugabe or worse.

It's blasphemy. Not only shades of Lenin, but of ancient Rome and Egypt. Worshiping an imperfect man. Isn't that what the Jews rejected? Why we are supposed to love God with all our heart and mind above all others?

And it debuts on Rosh Hashana too. I'm not sure it's a coincidence.
