Looks like my former Calgary PC MP, Lee Richardson is in hot water also for blaming Calgary's crime wave on immigrants. He was always a perennial backbench coaster in the Mulroney government. Ditto in the new PC government. Personally, I think Harper should use this as an excuse to give him the chop, notwithstanding that the candidate replacement deadline has passed.

Having had him for an MP for several years, I can assure all his scalp isn't worth a fight. Kind of like the Lib candidates in GTA seats.

I agree...Trudeau was not a classical liberal as I understand it and yes Canadians are horedously passive agressive. Yet, is it just about power? Why are there no Canadians screaming for more freedom like the US has (in some measure). Truthers up here have the letters "PB" tattooed in secret places. They're being told it stands for "Progressive Blogger", but actually, it means "political bimbo". There is no way Leslie Hughes will win against Joy Smith. She is really popular in our area. This is the first federal election that I have not seen Liberal signs anywhere in our area. Last election, Terry Duguid ran against Joy Smith, and there were many Lib. signs. This election - nothing.

What a sad commentary that Joy Smith is popular in her riding. All she does is fill my mailbox with junk mail, to the tune of who knows how many trees. I have yet to hear of her doing anything useful with her time, which she clearly has too much of given the sheer volume of junk mail she puts out. I have never voted for the Liberals but to get rid of Ms. Smith, I might have done so.
