When even Danny Williams....

...gives you the cold shoulder, you know the dream is dead.

The Hack asks GPC members if they think she's helping their party.

Political Staples wonders who picked September 24th as the day May would throw her party under the bus.

Now, what about that GPC-LPC alliance that was downplayed, vociferously denied and indignantly shot down by GP bloggers? I guess advocating that your supporters vote for someone else (cough, Dion) doesn't really count, eh?

Elizabeth May, activist . . . sometimes politician.

Update: Oh and isn't this just delicious, Why Green is NOT a wasted vote - GPC website.

Cheers,
lance

I'm pretty sure that Stephen Harper foretold such a likelihood. Harper obviously has a phsycic on staff. Probably at taxpayers expense to boot.

Add to that anti-Israel harpy and all-around jihad and terrorism supporter:

I am thinking that maybe she finds a reason to skip the debates, and soon after the election "resigns" as leader. She has officially taken the Greens as far as they can go.

It is so funny, this self styled and self appointed defender of democracy, trying to fix the election behind closed doors with Jack and Dion. It is to larf!

hello CPC majority

the silent majority's majority

I'm guessing that Danny Williams wishes there were some slightly more palatable options for his ABC campaign.

Posted by: Grandad at September 25, 2008 3:32 PM

Well at least she's having a nice leisurely sojourn across the country on a private train at the expense of the rubes that support her so-called party! Suckers!!

Posted by: Edward Teach at September 25, 2008 3:45 PM

Hezb'Allah Hattie has finally shown her true colours. She doesn't stand for anything...she's just against Stephen Harper.

I'm a bit of a secular Christian - and when I hear Elizabeth May is becoming a minister - it makes me a bit wary, and makes me want to continue my informal sabbatical from "organized church". Too bad, really.

Posted by: Erik Larsen at September 25, 2008 3:54 PM

I am watching the debate just for the laughs. I bet she will scream out "the world is ending!" within the first 20 minutes. I can't wait to watch her answering for Dion, and him looking on like a stunned owl.

Posted by: Honey Pot at September 25, 2008 4:22 PM

I think this is the moment when the CP can say that they see the whites of the opposition's eyes.

1. The LP has no coherent, recognizable policy platform. They shot their bolt - feeble as it was - on Monday.

2. The only policy they have is massively unpopular both within outside of the party.

3. They gacked it completely by being the whippet(s) to Stephen Harper's electronic bunny on the arts-funding issue.

4. The economic turmoil south of the 49th is making people look towards the strongest leader

5. THEY HAVE NO MONEY

It is an open, undefended field. Let the shock and awe of the CP campaign machine roll on to the political Paris.

...

I imagine that the LP campaign offices across the country will be pretty empty and quiet from here on. the stench of loser will be everywhere.

Posted by: Gord Tulk at September 25, 2008 4:35 PM

Apparently the Greens - If Ms. May's comments on voting are its policy - believe in legalizing self-inflicted euthanasia.

I've thought it possible for sometime that the LP could hold a coup-d-etat during the election and run on a junta grouping of Rae and Iggy, but now we might see another one that sees Ms. May offed between now and the 14th.

Don't count this election in the bag just yet. Overconfidence can be a liability.
Save the celebrations till after the election.

Sounded good on a phone in poll this afternoon on a show Christy Clark had on in place of that finger in the wind, phoney accented gasbag brother of Garth Turners, Adler. The conservatives had about 95 percent of the people that phoned in even Clark was surprized. But in all honesty, how stupid must one be to look at the choices and be unable to decide who would be the best PM. Harper has tried to run Canada as an adult businessman, the pit yorkies that he has had to put up with these last 2 and a half years, pathetic. If these numbers hold up the commies at the CBC will be all named Kneel.

Posted by: bartinsky at September 25, 2008 6:06 PM

For the sake of disclosure, I hope Christy Clark mentioned the fact that her husband, Mark Marrissen, is Dion's campaign manager here in B.C. Didn't bother listening to that show because of her; tuned in to Rush Limbaugh instead!

Have to respectfully disagree with you, bartinsky, re Adler. He skewers Dion every chance he gets and is unashamedly conservative. He may be a bit pompous, but he is very entertaining and not politically correct and that, to me, is very refreshing.

Posted by: Soccermom at September 25, 2008 6:17 PM

Oh, man - this is just too good...

The Star article begins with tails of suicide, roadkill and trains, then quotes a train worker regarding a recent incident: "The last thing that went through that moose's mind was its ass..."

...innocent discussion of strategic voting and the Green party follow.

Posted by: Tenebris at September 25, 2008 6:24 PM

Erik Larsen: "I'm a bit of a secular Christian - and when I hear Elizabeth May is becoming a minister - it makes me a bit wary..."

No need! The churchin which she's seeking ordination, the Anglican Church of Canada, is increasingly becoming "a secular Christian" denomination, so maybe you'll feel right at home with her "religious" views.

I really don't know what she's thinking: being an ordained minister/priest (the Anglican Church has the order of priests) AND a Member of Parliament? She must think that neither of them will require much in the way of commitment...

Posted by: Gord Tulk at September 25, 2008 7:59 PM

"""""" She has done a wonderful job in getting the Greens attention on the national scene but now she could let all those gains go to waste. But the Greens knew what they were getting, a movement leader not a party leader, when they install her as their flag waver."""""

call it the comedy of errors

and as a movement leader, would that be bowel movement

and if the fool May becomes a preacher, will she be kneeling at the same alter as Clithro

just wondering!!!!!

Why isn't little Danny laying on the floor and pounding his little fists on the ground and screaming and crying about how much loot the green shaft will take out of the NL oil economy?
It would take an awful lot to shut his giant piehole and stop his tantrums, especially when it comes to oil revenue.
He and Dion must have some kind of agreement that NL will be exempt from the tax.
And I doubt that would be enough to shut him up, so what else has Dion promised him?
Who gets to pay Danny to shut up and support the liberals?
Us.
I wonder if the folks in Ontario have thought that one through yet?
They will get stuck with a good chunk of Dion's vote buying scheme in NL. He knows he can hose Toronto because they are going to vote for him regardless.
We should remind them of that.
They are the liberal's 'sure thing'. They can show up late, drunk, smelling of cheap perfume and with lipstick on their collar, and the Toronto voters will give them some lovin' every time.
So why wouldn't Dion stick them with the bill for Danny's support?
He can just say he forgot his wallet, or he's a little short till payday because his horse didn't come in at the track.
They'll fall for it.
Hell, maybe they like it.

Let's not forget how Paul Martin gave away the store with his "Atlantic Accord" in 2005 - guaranteeing that Nfld. would get all its equalization payments, regardless of how much oil revenue Nfld. realizes (assuming Williams ever lets the oil companies move ahead). In other words, for the taxpayers of Ontario, Nfld. will continue to be a "have not" province even while it's rolling in oil revenues. Talk about having your cake and eating it too! No wonder Harper wants to change the rules. I hope he gets a majority, and tells Williams to stick it where the sun doesn't shine.

Is there a McCain echo in here??

"It is an open, undefended field. Let the shock and awe of the CP campaign machine roll on to the political Paris."

Brilliant. Compare the Conservative election machine to the illegal bombing of Iraq, and the Nazi invasion of France. Priceless analogy from a Conservative, thank you.

40% = majority? You learned math from separatists or something? As supporters of democracy, how do you feel about that?

Being an unreconstructed Reformer I actually agree with some of the Green Party platform. They run off the rails with this goofy diehard commitment to the Kyoto ecofascist world government. Elizabeth May ranting on about all of this apocalyptic global warming horse crap makes her sound more like the Sierra Club Party of Canada. Get ready for a total shreiking gut full of it during the "debates".
