Boys and girls, we offer for you today your first lesson on how to be "progressive", liberal, and a disciple of The One:
The lefty blogosphere hasn't stopped perpetuating the rumor Sarah Palin "faked" her last pregnancy and are now humiliating her daughter Bristol on the blatantly incorrect suspicion she is the real mother of baby Trig.
Change you can believe in!
At least TimesOnline gets it:
“We may be seeing the first woman president. As a Democrat, I am reeling,” said Camille Paglia, the cultural critic. “That was the best political speech I have ever seen delivered by an American woman politician. Palin is as tough as nails.”
p.s. ... does anyone remember The Speech of a Lifetime?
Posted by Cjunk at August 31, 2008 10:13 PMthe more I see of palin the more I like her. This was a great pick
Posted by: jim at August 31, 2008 10:28 PMSomebody gave the speech of a lifetime? Who knew??
The mystery continues. Just how do the nattering nabobs of negativity feed themselves? Somehow they just don't seem bright enough to gum their own pablum.
A pregnant Palin in February, 2008... Trig was born April 18, 2008. http://community.adn.com/node/118874
Posted by: Skip at August 31, 2008 10:59 PMSome women have a paunch. Lots of women have them and many men find curvy women sexy.
And if the young women did have a baby and lied about it, so what, its their family and none of these people's business. I am pleased they welcomed a Downs Syndrome baby into the world. People with Downs are lovely human beings whom most lefties want to murder before they can be born.
Going too be more than interesting. Love the way the MSM is having fits, deriding all things Palin at the same time having no issues whatso ever with Obama's slight CV. Great drama. I can hardly wait till the debates. say what you will, McCain has ran a fantastic campaign since New Hampshire. Every time he is discounted or left for dead. He hammers home his message clean and simple. Loved the Obama info spots ran by McCain during the coronation event in Denver. Now the spewing of crap by Alan Combes, and the rest of the usual suspects Nbc, MSLSD, Cnn has been beside them selves with manufactured outrage. Have you seen the Paul Beluga jackass on Cnn?
I hope McCain wins this
By the way, where are the feminists on this issue, i.e., the attempt to smear and denigrate Palin AND her daughter by stating that her fifth child isn't hers but is her daughter's. Where are the feminists?
As silent as they are about the Islamic mistreatment of women?
Camille Paglia, by the way, is a lesbian but a hard-hitting, no-nonsense individual who rejects postmodernism and 'victimology'.
Posted by: ET at August 31, 2008 11:30 PMAll I can say is WOW. What a great pick for VP. McCain is going to win this. The MSM attacks do not seem to have the impact on the voter that they carry in Canada. It would seem that the deciding fringe vote is much more concerned with the health of their country than with what they can gain for themselves at it's expense.
I am really looking forward to elections here, and now in the US as well. It's optimism all over!
By the way, was that 'nude' photo supposed to be some kind of detriment to Palin's career? First I thought that it was a photo of a different person, then I said to myself: wait, but who's going to think bad about Sarah after seeing that photo? Even if that was her, that's just a picture of a cute young girl taken by a naughty roommate or boyfriend, nothing more.
Posted by: Aaron at August 31, 2008 11:35 PMThis doesnt surprise me.
You always had to be the cirrect type of woman to be considered to be making progress. Thatcher was never a feminist icon, because she had the wrong politics.
At some point they will be called out on this.
You know that if Colin Powell had run for the GOP that he wouldnt have been considered a step forward, he would have been called an Uncle Tom. Once again wrong politics, wrong party.
If the left side of the blogosphere is doing this they risk an "yvette" moment. Right now it looks like they are headed in that direction.
Posted by: Stephen at August 31, 2008 11:43 PMA commenter at Ace of Spades says the new Kossack/nutroots meme is that Todd knocked up the daughter as well as the faking of Sarah being the child's mother. Classy.
Posted by: andycanuck at September 1, 2008 12:00 AMYou know, for a candidate that much of the left considers to have "no experience" and "a poor choice", they sure feel threatened.
Posted by: Chairman Kaga at September 1, 2008 12:03 AMLesson number two on how to be "progressive", liberal, and a disciple of The One:
Think that it's funny that Hurricane Gustav will hit New Orleans on Monday when the GOP convention is about to start. Another hurricane, another political opportunity.

Posted by: TimR at September 1, 2008 12:06 AMI am having a hard time understanding the hoopla surrounding her child. That is HER decision. She wanted that child, warts and all. It does not mean that she opposes abortion,it means that she was willing to take a chance on the baby inside her. It was her decision. She did what was right for her and her family.......I am pro-choice,100%,this was a choice,I doubt that the decision was reached lightly.
Posted by: wallyj at September 1, 2008 12:12 AMThey hate this courageous woman and everything she stands for, so they have to make up dirt. shameful.
She should sue.
Posted by: Soccermom at September 1, 2008 12:18 AMThis is how Palin looked when she was younger and pregnant too, and she never looked like that in her last claimed pregnancy ... what gives???

Posted by: Observant at September 1, 2008 2:50 AMIt's quite amazing to me how the left feels no shame whatsoever about picking on the teenage daughters of Republican figures, from GW Bush's girls to Palin's daughter, even going back to snide comments about Nixon's daughter's looks. But heaven forbid if any Republican called Chelsea Clinton "first mutt"; then we would be evil, heartless bastards. More lefty hypocrisy.
Posted by: KevinB at September 1, 2008 3:14 AMIt's over.
Andrew Sullivan was the one that posted an obviously pregnant Sarah Palin at a governor's gathering, 5 days before Trig's birth.
So this one is laid to rest. Now, how about we turn the tables and take one of the Kossaxs as our prisoners.
Posted by: Angry Uncle at September 1, 2008 5:24 AMI actually heard one lefty pundit slag Palin for not aborting an obviously deformed child. They know no bounds people.
Posted by: rations at September 1, 2008 7:30 AMIf Hillary can call Petraus a liar, when time has shown that everything he said was true, and that "Bush Knew" 911 was coming and that Bush has some huge secret army of operatives that The Joker would envy blowing up buildings in NY and Washington... I could go on.
This is a typical Democrat "Nuts and sluts" tactic.
Posted by: Tim in Vermont at September 1, 2008 7:50 AMAll this slagging of Sarah Palin and her family does is tarnish further -- if that's possible -- the lib-left, feminist cabal in the Democratic Party, the MSM, and the lefty blogosphere.
Because they live in a bubble, they think this is funny (snigger, snigger) and that it's going to significantly damage the McCain-Palin ticket. But, as most Americans don't live in their privileged, entitled, infantile, let's-get-small world, my sense is that it will have the opposite effect.
Most Americans will see Sarah Palin as a pistol-packin' Mama, firmly grounded in common sense, decency, and courage. She's the Real McCoy, she's the one who embodies the values that most Americans emulate and live out day to day.
As Paglia says, Sarah's "tough as nails." I call her a tough cookie, one that won't crumble as easily as the lib-left supposes. She's a keeper and will stay the course. She's faced a lot tougher in her life than the lib-left bullies. They flatter themselves that they're going to ruffle her feathers.
Go, Sarah, go!
Posted by: batb at September 1, 2008 8:13 AM'Observant'...(This is how Palin looked when she was younger and pregnant too, and she never looked like that in her last claimed pregnancy ... what gives???).
Nice to know your body and balance has stayed the same over the years...I could post pix of my Mum through her 6 pregnancies...she was, um...pretty porky in her first three and very svelte through her last three...your idiotic point (whatever it is), is duly noted.
Posted by: billygoat at September 1, 2008 9:11 AMYou know, for a candidate that much of the left considers to have "no experience" and "a poor choice", they sure feel threatened.
Yep.
The 'troopergate' scandal was created by the Democrats in June/July - in an attempt to prevent her from being considered as VP.
Posted by: Marvin at September 1, 2008 10:56 AMDAILY KOS ARE SCUM BAGS !!!
All you small minded people who are crucifying Governor Palin over the question of her fifth child, are just fueling a vicious smear campaign. Besides, if you want to exhibit your holier-than-thou attitude ... why don't you get even more angry at Obama, Michelle, and their children, for spending 20 years in an anti-American racist church, as well as associations with Farrakhan, Wright, Ayers, Rezko, etc.. These facts are much more relevant to the next administration, than the possibility of a loving mother taking the heat to protect her child and grandchild.
I'm not registered with all those US lefty blogs, but if you are, please send them this gift suggestion they can buy on ebay, cheap:

Palins daughter preggers at 17. going to get married =====> conservative
Obamas Mom. Ann Dunham , preggers at 18 , married about the same time. divorced in two years ========> progressive
Can't you see the obvious difference , or must it all be spelled out for you?
OK (sigh), I'll help out.
1 + 1 = 2 ====> conservative speak
1 + 1 = whatever you want it to be ====> liberal speak

The day is coming when Women will be forced to abort what will be considered a defective human.
I Hate even saying this but now that the OHRC can tell Doctors what they can or cannot do morally or ethically as they see fit as individuals their own practice. What’s to stop citizens from being treated the same way? They own the Hospitals. Already Pro-life nurses (Or I should say would be would be nurses.) are being vetted out. The same will now occur in Medical schools for Dr's. That is, when all those healers who have religious or ethical scruples leave Ontario.
You would think she had, as governor, used state troopers to procure campaign volunteers for sex or something, oh wait, that was Bill.
Posted by: Tim in Vermont at September 1, 2008 8:52 PMIs it just me or are videos making fun of BHO on You tube seem to always get removed immediately? I guess BHO doesn't believe in freedom of expression. Nor it seems You tube.
Posted by: Warren Z at September 2, 2008 1:14 AMactually, the Sarah Palin baby rumours originally came from the tabloids and have been active in alaska for quite some time before she was picked by Mccain
