Y2Kyoto: Cooler Heads Prevail

"As promised, the Republican platform subcommittee on energy took up the global-warming section of the 2008 draft about an hour ago. Long story short: It's now a very different document. I'll have more after I've had a chance to talk to some of the participants in the debate. To give you an idea of how drastically the document changed, consider the first amendment the subcommittee took up, which passed:

The section was titled, "Global Warming and Environmental Protection." Now it's just, "Environmental Protection.""

The fools, if texas becomes as warm as Mexico everyone will die!

They're doomed,.......

Protect the environment, that's just mean spirited.

Hah! Proof that McCain is Harper's poodle ;)

"Environmental Protection" eh, here we go again...

Hey Dino, Texas is as warm as Mexico. Only reason we haven't given it back to them is we have air-conditioning!

I know that I will see the day come when leftists and greenies will fidget uncomfortably and nervously try to change the subject when the greatest non-event of the early 21st century is mentioned (GW). And I will not be surprised if the Mainstream Media and especially CBC are the last ones to get that it "ain't happening baby"

What? No promise of billions to combat "Climate Change"?
I'm sure if we all move back to caves, we can stop our climate from ever changing.

One of the biggest problems with the Jihad against the poor little carbon atom (or the Co2 molecule) is that it siphons away money and effort that could go to reducing real pollution. Gasses like NO2 and SO2 have real, provable deletirious effects, and can be much reduced through the application of proper technology. I think everyone wants cleaner air and water, and healthier children - the difference is that conservatives would like to do it without trashing the economy or massive state intervention. It also has measureable effects - if we provide tax incentives to add better scrubber technology in Ontario, Michigan, Ohio, New York and Pennsylvania, we WILL notice better air and less haze in those areas. If we shut down the entire Canadian economy tomorrow and all go live in caves, it will have NO measurable impact on the release of carbon into the atmoshere - and China will take up all that slack within a year or so.

What if Obama has to walk through 2 feet of snow to go vote for himself come a much colder than usual November?...I retract that comment, Obamessiah would walk on snow like he walks on water...

Solar minimum (No flares detected on the sun's surface) is among us officially since 2006 and the oceans have started to cool since. Last winter was a preview of things to come for at least the next decade...Until solar flares start up again on the surface of the sun and the oceans start slowly warming up again that is. Last time solar maximum occured was 1995~6 which resulted in 1998 as being the hottest year for that last solar flare build up.

I think there is more to it than that. I think, that the worm has officially turned on climate change. It is no longer an issue that will move votes. Furthermore, not everyone knows that yet; the Dems still believe it is a winner and a vote getter, but the Republicans are ahead of the curve.

How long before that bit of common sense filters up north to us? If ever?

I suspect GWB is manipulating the climate(causing it to cool) to hide his larger plans of global WARming. Is there anything that GWB can't do?
