And The Racist Is... Then Again, Maybe Not

Spanking John Ibbotson at the Globe And Mail;

The Bull from Canada writes: Do you see the irony of these statements, back to back?:

"Sadly, Mr. Obama's race could also be a factor among these voters."

"The turnout of both young and African-American voters is traditionally less than their actual percentage of the population. But both groups are powerfully committed to Mr. Obama."

hmmmmm.

Why didn't he say, "Sadly, African-Americans are powerfully committed to Mr. Obama."

Why not, indeed?

It's complicated... That's what they always say to me, whether it is defending Bill Clinton's sexual harrassment of low level employees, or explaining why nuclear power plants should be shut down, but windmills shouldn't be built anywhere that the liberal in question can see them.

And NRO's 25 reasons you may be a racist if you don't support Obama:

Equality means treating everyone differently.

"African-Americans are powerfully committed to Mr. Obama"

So if you select a candidate because of race, doesn't that make you a racist ?

Imagine if this were the headline:

"White-Americans are powerfully committed to Mr. McCain"

It would bring out every race hustler like Sharpton et al.

Don't be silly Fred, you can't be a racist if you're black. Everybody knows that. ~:)

Glad to see Ibbotson hasn't drunk the Kool-Aid and become a total O'bot. (Sarcasm meter overheating)

Having a woman president or a black president won't mean the US has made progress.

But having a president who just happens to be a woman or an African American will.

Obama will lose because large numbers of Hispanics and Asian Americans, usually reliable Democratic voters, won't vote for a black man, period. Put that in your multicultural pipe and smoke it, Ibbitson.
