Too bad, Bangladesh! The ocean's rise continues unabated - the Messiah missed the vote;
Apparently three days of debate was enough for what many senators called "the most important issue facing the planet."With little chance of winning passage of a sweeping 500-page global warming bill, the Senate Democratic leadership is planning to yank the legislation after failing to achieve the 60-vote threshold needed to move the bill to the next stage. After a 48-36 vote on the climate change bill, the Senate is likely to move on to a separate energy debate next week.
[...]
Several senators who missed the vote, including Edward M. Kennedy (D-Mass.), John McCain (R-Ariz.), Barack Obama (D-Ill.) and Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.), would have voted for the bill, Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) said on the Senate floor this morning, meaning the legislation had the support of a majority of the Senate.
O, woe is me, To have seen what I have seen, see what I see!
Posted by: ural at June 6, 2008 11:38 PMThe Energy Bill was everything that California wanted.. and then some. Trillions. (Let the bastards freeze in the dark). The decent DemacRats are running away from the corrupt group in their camp.
MSM media (FOX) have now stopped using the words "Climate Change" and are back to "Global Warming". They know that the Global warming hysteria is driving Oil Prices & unemployment. Its time for the debate A**holes
The Spike in Oil Prices is the Cloak for the real costs hidden behind alternative energy sources. Conspiracy? YES.. (Remember that Gore promised the Greens $5.00 gas in 2000)
US sovereignty was up for sale to UN interests.
The Cap & Trade was a total Scam...gangsters gaming the public
India has now opted out of Kyoto. They have some economic intelligence!
If McCain does not declare AGW a fraud, and Obama does so "first” The race will be over!
A real American, that has not been bribed, will do the right thing with this economic Turd.
Maybe some sanity is now creeping into the lunacy that the great MO has perpetrated on the world. Hard to believe we have moved so little from the wind gods and thunder gods of ancient civilizations to believe in the greatest scam ever, Global Warming, oh yes be afraid kiddies, Suzuker said it is so. Please mankind wake up before your wallets are clean and the 400,000 dollar house and the 85,000 dollars of used vehicles and the 2800 dollars of monthly expenses that each couple has to front are no longer attainable, oh and yes the carbon tax is coming next Stepon says so.

So Boxer has declared that a vote that failed to pass actually did pass because of the intentions of Senators not present for the vote. I think somebody should check the Constitution.
Posted by: randall g at June 7, 2008 1:34 AMA thing that should make everyone go hummm??
If the demos/demo lite repos believed that the American people were still willing to buy 'hot air' they would have been there with bells on their toes and greenies ($$$) in their minds, to vote.
If I were an American, I would vote for Bob Barr of the Libertarian Party; he reminds me of Bert Brown the ELECTED senator from Alberta. Bob Barr calls Global Warming cult-like hysteria a hoax; for that opinion alone, he is the only sane choice for President, IMO.
Posted by: Jema54 at June 7, 2008 2:31 AMSpeaking of the Messiah, here's what Jesse Jackson Jr had to say. (Warning - you may lose your lunch, wet yourself laughing or both.) Link
"I cried all night. I’m going to be crying for the next four years. What Barack Obama has accomplished is the single most extraordinary event that has occurred in the 232 years of the nation’s political history. ... The event itself is so extraordinary that another chapter could be added to the Bible to chronicle its significance."
Posted by: Kathryn at June 7, 2008 9:37 AMMy understanding is that J.McCain supports the cap and trade - if - China and India agree to reduce their CO2.
Posted by: MikeW at June 7, 2008 1:13 PMObama couldn't make the vote. He was too busy pining for the day when sea levels lower and the planet can heal!!
Hard to believe this kind of claptrap will give him the keys to the White House. I don't believe it, even if Hillary runs as his VP on the "dream on" ticket.
Posted by: Shamrock at June 7, 2008 3:53 PMGlobal warming is a lie the real problem is the political hacks and the UN and CFR and other sinister forces
