I don't think she's interested in the Vice-Presidency.
I think what she's interested in is sealing Obama's fate with that "angry white woman" base, by forcing him to reject her.
A new Pew Research Center poll points to a surging tide of fury, especially among white women. As recently as April, this group preferred Obama over the presumptive Republican John McCain by three percentage points. By May, McCain enjoyed an eight-point lead among white women.
Me, either.

I wonder if Obama's handlers calculated a democratic civil war into their presidential equation.
Posted by: Canadian Observer at June 4, 2008 12:19 AMIts nice to see that the "surge" is still working.

Posted by: Shaken at June 4, 2008 1:11 AMGlory Hallelujah! There may still be some hope for our kind.
Now if we can just get the echo-moon-bats away from Harper?
God bless America and may she elect a president who has more than community organizer on his resume.
Posted by: kelly at June 4, 2008 4:32 AMYes, with Hillary as VP, President Obama will want to demand excruciatingly meticulous pre-flight inspections of Air Force One before taking any trips...
Posted by: JJM at June 4, 2008 5:52 AMJean B. Grillo, an "over 50" writer in lower Manhattan, was pretty straightforward: "I am so tired as a white, ultra-liberal, McGovern-voting, civil-rights marching, anti-war fighting highly educated professional woman who totally supports Hillary Clinton to be attacked and vilified as racist and or dumb."
So you've spent your entire life forcing the most revolting identity politics on your country, and now you're being eaten by those politics. Good.
No sympathy forthcoming.
Posted by: Darrell at June 4, 2008 7:24 AMMy own daughter, recently turned 12, came in to the room this morning and was visibly dissapointed that Clinton had lost. I don't know where that came from. When I say the word "Clinton" out loud here my Labrador retriever slinks into his crate, just covering his bases because he knows I am mad about something.
Posted by: Tim in Vermont at June 4, 2008 7:32 AMI think she's just waiting for the other shoe to drop when it comes to this video that's apparently floating around; it's supposed to be of Michelle Obama sitting down with Louis Farrakhan and saying very denigrating things about "whitey" (her words, HRC, not mine, if it matters). That would take an axe to much of the Democrat base, and they would probably have to put her up as the nominee just to try to be competitive.
Posted by: SDC at June 4, 2008 7:49 AMI want the Clintons, Carville et al, to JUST GET OUT OF MY FACE!
Posted by: cragganless at June 4, 2008 7:58 AMAnd exactly where and how did Hillary cross the Commander in Chief threshold? Methinks she is a lengend in her own mind.
Posted by: Cameron at June 4, 2008 8:04 AMThe first power mad dictator Obama is going to have to talk to is Hillary.
Compared to her, dealing with Imadinnerjacket will be breeze.
Think about this:
You know how you always see that clip of GWB exiting down the stairs from the Presidential Chopper on the south lawn of the White House and giving a crisp salute to the Marine that is always standing at attention at the bottom of those stairs.
Now, imagine Barak Obama snapping off that salute.
Now, imagine Hillary Clinton snapping off that salute.
Now, imagine what thoughts may be going through that Marine's mind.
Posted by: Yoop at June 4, 2008 8:34 AMObama and Hillary will be demolished at election time:
They will have to get the calculator out and start tabulating "hope and change" for all to see...Moonbats should of asked for the bottom line during the nomination campaign not the election.
...McCain will then become the new Repubmocrat Prez he aspires to be.
Posted by: Grind a Grit at June 4, 2008 8:57 AMHillary for VP? Not if Obama knows how to spell "Vince Foster".
Posted by: KevinB at June 4, 2008 9:01 AM
Ahhh, the Socialist Party of Democrats are self-exploding.
According to the Media down heya in America if you are white and not voting for Obama you are Racist, plain and simple.
I tell you this, and don't get me wrong, I like my 3-piece spicy w/redbeans and rice from Popeyes, but after they went all black cooks and servers I quit going. I don't want spit or what ever in my food.
Obama didn't drive the blacks to hate Whitey, Rev. Jackson, Sharpton, Farakhan and Wright had a lot to do with that, but Obama is putting on the finishing touch.
,
Clintons main demographic other than women is hard working whites.
Remember when that was the demographic?
Posted by: cal2 at June 4, 2008 9:46 AM"Would you allow the Clintons within a "heartbeat of the Presidency", if it was your heartbeat standing in their way?"
Kate! Woo! Pretty pointed observation there about Hillary, eh? Not that I disagree, I just hadn't thought of it quite that way.
Now that I have I remember Vince Foster and a few more who dies in "mysterious circumstances" around the Clintons. Then there were the hundred or so Clinton "associates" and hangers on who ended up in jail.
Question for those with better memories: Who was it that went to jail for having two (2) FBI files under I think it was Nixon? And did anybody ever end up in jail over the two HUNDRED FBI files the Clintons were found with?
Man, I can hardly wait for all those p1ssed off liberal white women to start making a ruckus in the DemocRat convention. That's going to be some good TV, we're talking Martha Stewart vs. Oprah Winfrey death match!
Of course the MSM won't show it, but now we have U-Tube! Yay!
Posted by: The Phantom at June 4, 2008 9:51 AMIf we all just take a step back and quietly watch, we can seen the destruction of an empire in rapid fashion. The nasty political infighting is like a replay of the last days of the Roman Empire
Rome took a while to collapse, this time we are watching it happen in quick time.
So sit back and enjoy this opportunity to see a repeat of history in the making.
In the end Hillary is just another Roman senator who is going down with her country.
Fascinating - to see that these two have, between them, divided the American population into two identity groups: blacks and whites. And then further divided the latter into ..women.
Obama's rhetoric of inclusiveness was fake. The proof of that is his long association with a 'church' (not really a church but instead a cult) whose 'glue' was pure identity-politics: colour, status as victim, rage at Others. Both his wife and he express these identity-tages frequently.
He won't ask Hillary to be his VP, because the Clinton machine would take over. AND, because that machine is, in itself, corrupt. BUT, she will ensure that his refusal of her is also a refusal of white women, and even, whites. By the way, I doubt if Hillary wants to be VP; she's only interested in the top role.
Meanwhile, McCain is probably waiting for Obama to select his VP, before he announces his. The problem with Obama is his age and his links to Bush, just because he's a man, white, ex-military..
Posted by: ET at June 4, 2008 10:00 AMSorry! I forgot to add; Hail to the new chief, "CHINA". Someone always has to be on top.
Posted by: melwilde at June 4, 2008 10:00 AMET, I agree with your assessment of McCain's problems. But like his face, they pale in comparison to the african american culture hate gorilla hanging around Obama's neck. He can throw his church under the bus but what about his wife, Michelle? McCain has obstacles in front of him but Obama's carrying live IED's.
McCain will make a good 4yr man for Hillary until she gets another crack at it in 2012. She'll help make it so.
Posted by: Martin B. at June 4, 2008 10:23 AMAside from the fact that I can't turn on the news without hearing or watching some BS about this development ... I am completely satisfied that my predictions about the Democrats are coming in at 100%
Based on the simple truth that in the game of identity politics Race trumps Gender!
This is what you call chickens come home to roost!
I don't share Kate's, ahem, actuarial view of having Hillary as your successor. However, I'll note that neither Clinton has EVER shown ANY interesting in being second fiddle. With the Clinton's, it's self, before party, before country. (Which is the exact opposite of a true patriot.)
So...if she can't have the nomination, the party is worthless to Hill 'n Bill at this time. She'll not publicly, obviously sabotage Obama's candidacy. However, Obama & Co. will have to constantly watch their backs between now and election day.
Personally, I don't think Obama is electable. The red state plurality will - correctly - see through his phony personna and perceive his extreme leftist nature.
All McCain and the Republicans have to do is run a competent campaign and it'll be "President McCain".
Posted by: Dave in Pa. at June 4, 2008 11:27 AMWho else caught that minister on cnn just announce that Obama has been touched by GOD and received DIVINE INTERVENTION.
Even the host said, do you really want to hang that on him. Remember the clip of Hillory commenting on this a while ago.
By announcing she would accept the VP position, she has put Obama over a barrel. Don't appoint her, millions of women scorned, appoint her, hire a food taster.
He wont appoint her, and even if he did, I think the Clinton machine will work for the tickets defeat.
I think Obamas wife is a serious liability, they will eat her alive.
Posted by: bob at June 4, 2008 12:21 PMThe Harpies are coming home to roost!
This is what the dems deserve for slicing and dicing the electorate into victim groups to be pitted against one another for the party's gain.
Eventually, the pitting is the core of your support being gouged out by bitterness and animosity.
I'm all smiles about it. Not that McCain is my first choice for Pres - he's just not my last choice… The fight for second place is now over. Obama gets the privilege of being the dems chosen token to be sacrificed in November.
Kate nailed it.
Whatever other issues Obama may have, being stupid isnt one of them. Of course that all changes if HRC is his VP, then he derserves everything that happens after that.
Posted by: Stephen at June 4, 2008 1:43 PMHeared Rev. Al Sharpton may run as Obombas running mate! He he
Posted by: Knight 99 at June 4, 2008 2:28 PMif I were Obama with Hill or Bill around Id wear a helmet , a kevlar vest and hire a food taster.

Micheal Obama HATES the Hill, it would be HILLarious to see the show with Hill as Veep and Micheals as......as....as...what ever, lffing just thinking about it
Would love to see McCain choose Colin Powell as a running mate:-))))))
