It has taken a long time, but most are smartening up and realizing that most ofwhat they read in newspapers is largely agenda driven fiction. At least on line there is some debate and alternate views. This can serve to start the thought processes in people that current day educational systems work hard to destroy.

I rather enjoy these stories..They always made think of some huge stupid beast that has blundered into a tar pit, howling and thrashing about without the slightest clue how to actually save itself.

And, yes, major media orgs can and do have successful web pages, blogs. But now, with a simple 'click', anyone can investigate and seek out alternative information.

Perhaps it is this that has WK in such a state. After all, why would he bother trolling, if, as he hollers, Kate is a 'nothing fruit cake' compared to JC's RHM ?

Because the 'click' allows Canadians to see the Media/Lib monopoly for what it is? Bad for business, eh Jason?

like most of the SDA readers, I am absolutely delighted to see the MSM continue its steep decline into obscurity and irrelevance .....
liberalism is bad for business - serves them right

I don't think the papers get it at all. I pick up the Calgary Herald on occasion and by the time I finish reading it, I'm so depressed with their exagerated stories pushing the agenda that I wonder why I read it in the first place. Then I need to get on the blogs to see what the real news is. Can you imagine these same bunch of clowns pushing the CRTC agenda on internet content. It would be time to move south when this happens.

I have been following the MSM meltdown for a while now. One good way to see it visually is to put up a graph of some of the newspaper stocks. Our local paper, the Billings Gazette, is owned by Lee Enterprises, http://finance.yahoo.com/echarts?s=LEE#chart1:symbol=lee;range=my;indicator=volume;charttype=line;crosshair=on;ohlcvalues=0;logscale=on;source=undefined. Lee has dropped from $48 a share to $6.69 in just under 4 years. How would you like to have a bunch of that dog in a 401k?

Steve, I know what you mean. Still, the Calgary Herald doesn't beat the Sun for sheer arrogance.

I swear if I read one more middle aged, leftwing twit a two year journalism diploma or some 20-something airhead bimbo with a name like Nicole or Tamara tell me what *THEY* think about complex national and international issues I think I'll be sick.

Man, the Sun *USED* to be not a bad paper for a quick scan of the news. Now it's such an insipid rag it's not even worth reading for free.

Apropos of this topic, Monday's (May 26) Ottawa Citizen featured as its top page one story the fact that Tory MPs are hiring each other's kids and realtives. Stating that fact comprised the lead paragraph. Paragraph two said this was allowed under Parliamentary rules. The rules prohibit hiring your own kids and relatives.

Despite having admitted in the second para that there was no story, the Citizen prattled on with another column or so of pointless quotes from "scandalized" MPs from other parties.

So what was the purpopse of this non-story? To embarrass Harper -- a continuing quest of the MSM. Skewing news coverage to serve this and other agendas, such as global warming, shows how delusional the media moguls are. They still think that what they think matters.
