"When I delivered that speech, nobody clapped."

"Is this another Bosnian sniper incident...?"

Another Democrat practicing writer's embellishment but then, they are allowed.

Factoid: Obama is right. If you compare an automobile to computers, TVs, fridges, freezers and wtches, a mid sized car should sell for about ^500.00, and give you 75 miles a gallon. The same gangsters that have kept auto prices up have also raised havoc with building and home prices. NO! I'm not leftist, I'm practical!!

Sorry sweetie!! That should be $6500.00. (Six thousand five hundred Canadian Dollars.)

Let me get this straight...Obama had a black father and a white mother. He happens to look more black than white. So is he white or black? If he has a conversation with Stevie Wonder, is Stevie talking to a homeboy or whitey? Perhaps I'll ponder this over the long weekend.

Oh and BTW, I think Obama is a stuffed suit. Heavy on the rhetoric with no real policies. He makes a good narator, but it's the writers who are typically the brains of the vaudville act.

Right up there with Hillary's "sniper fire", Bill's "I never had sex with That woman" and Dubya's military service record. And most Canadians think the leadership choices in this country are awful.

The clap track was obviously inserted by Karl Rove. And the "standing ovation" was really just people getting up to leave the room.

Come on people, wake up to the vast right wing conspiracy!

Save us from fake politicians Obama!

Posted by: Doogie at May 16, 2008 2:06 PM

Would YOU buy a pre-owned, fuel efficient car from THIS man?

Posted by: Xanthippa at May 16, 2008 2:34 PM

Obama was obviously confused with his reception to Detroit, our 56th state!

Posted by: Orlin at May 16, 2008 3:06 PM

Hmm... let's see.. An issue about clapping versus 'Mission Accomplished' on the aircraft carrier for Bush. Which do you think is the more egregious mistake?

Posted by: Todd at May 16, 2008 3:18 PM

He's handsome, articulate and makes my skin crawl.
Can't explain it.
Only thing I know for sure about this guy is that he isn't going to run around on his wife. (She'd castrate him.)

Posted by: gellen at May 16, 2008 3:26 PM

A very minor thing compared to Tuzla. The sort of thing one could easily misremember... completely different than whether one has/has not been shot at with one's teenage daughter.

And I don't like Obama and think he's lied about far more serious matters than this.

Posted by: Christoph at May 16, 2008 3:40 PM

jack b. you are right, basic appliances sellfor less, with an adjusted for inflation dollar, than they did in 1983. obama is a marxistplaying to an uneducated audience. no matter how many degrees they hold they are unable to think critically. gellen, he is far from articulate, when he has to think on his feet he is no better than the rest of the cast.

Obama the prevaricator sneaking into the presidency while gliding over his extreme left political orientation may God willing be effectively defeated by the american constitutional division of powers!

Posted by: pj at May 16, 2008 5:52 PM

Typical liberal - history only began this morning.

"Hmm... let's see.. An issue about clapping versus 'Mission Accomplished' on the aircraft carrier for Bush. Which do you think is the more egregious mistake?"

The Mission Accomplished banner was hung by the Navy personnel on board, who had in fact accomplished their mission.

It was a statement of fact, not a mistake.

Obama's statement wasn't a mistake either, it was a lie.

So the only egregious mistake we're left with here, is yours, for not knowing your history.

What is it about politicians today that they don't think every thing will be double checked within an interwebby second?

I think it's stupidity.

Posted by: RW at May 16, 2008 8:05 PM

Once again, Obalmy is revealed as just a cheap politician a la Elmer Gantry, saying whatever he figures his audience wants to hear. A vacuous suite.

Posted by: RW at May 16, 2008 8:07 PM

Old WHite Guy @4.47, yes, you have it. I've frequently commented that Hussein wasn't articulate, or he would say something. But you definition is better: He's not articulate because he can't think on his feet. He is, as someone else said, a speech reader. he couldn't even call a chess game.

Posted by: RW at May 16, 2008 8:13 PM

Well I dont know how many people were in the room but I would hardly call it a strong ovation.

Sounded like he sunk a two foot putt.

Posted by: Right of centre at May 16, 2008 8:19 PM

Perhaps to him, that sounded like nobody was clapping. The guy is the messiah and everything...

Posted by: Knight of Good Mr. Iron Man at May 16, 2008 8:26 PM

no ted most people in this country don't think our choice's are terrible as only one man has shown to be the best man for the job. we will show you in the next election.

Posted by: royalist at May 16, 2008 8:44 PM

If this is the best example of why he is a liar I think I can live with it.

Seems like a reach to me.

Does anybody know how many people were in the room?

Posted by: Right of centre at May 17, 2008 11:37 AM

Obama has studied the gestures of Brad Pitt, IMO.
He walks like Brad and he talks like Brad. Brad Pitt has a manner that is very difficult to resist (esp. for women) because he presents himself as a man who does not 'need' women. Women and children are never at the top of his agenda, they are a 'given'. Turdo used this tactic in Canada with great success. I hope that the minions in USA will see through the sheer window; otherwise....
