The inexplicably still-employed Maureen Dowd;
Hillary grows more and more glowy as Obama grows more and more wan.Is she draining him of his precious bodily fluids?

maybe the focus should be... if he's afraid to go 'head to head' with hillary,
and he's undeniably runnin' scared since the last debate... what's
obama gonna do the next time bin-laden comes knockin'?

Posted by: neo at April 28, 2008 12:34 AMInexplicable? She's still employed because she can write Kate. You see, just because someone sees the world differently than you do does not mean they are unemployable. I'm sure the cattle will have lots of mooing to do now...
Posted by: Johnny Maudlin at April 28, 2008 1:00 AMMoDo's unhealthy obsession with "precious bodily fluids" is nothing new:

I did tell you the NY Slimes uber management would fire all the wrong people, didn't I? I understand the sewers around the Times building fairly teem with rats deserting the Gray Lady as she sinks majestically beneath the waves.
Posted by: The Phantom at April 28, 2008 1:27 AMThe whole "precious bodily fluids" thing is a reference to Dr. Strangelove. Yeah, so half of the population wasn't even born yet when that movie came out, and Dowd hasn't realized that the world is a teensy bit different now than it was in 1964.
Posted by: Ed Minchau at April 28, 2008 2:14 AMHilama for President!
Posted by: Doogie at April 28, 2008 4:25 AMMoron Dud doesn't appear to like either of them. But that's the leftist way- mysogynist and racist, all in one breath ;)
Posted by: otter at April 28, 2008 5:03 AMAs Ed Minchau points out, given the source and context of this quote it is abundantly clear Dowd is accusing Obama of being a member of the international communist conspiracy. I'm not so sure. Let's wait to hear what Obama's stance is on flouridation of the water supply.
By the way, everyone knows you dont "drain" someone's precious bodily fluids. You "sap and impurify" them.
Posted by: Dr. Strangelove at April 28, 2008 7:57 AM"glowy"???
Posted by: INP at April 28, 2008 9:17 AMNow I wouldn't want to suggest that Clinton was the Succubus ...... but...... :)
That's right, John. The superior writing of Maureen Dowd is but one reason for today's New York Times circulation and financial trajectory.
Posted by: Kate at April 28, 2008 11:40 AMI think Maureen Dowd is obsessed with fornication. Like the typical leftist.
Not that there's anything wrong with fornication per se... it's when one is obsessed with all things fornicatory to the point that it shows in one's on-the-job conduct.
Speaking of which...
Maybe she was trying to get Bill Clinton's attention? Who the hell knows what, if anything, goes on within the crania of leftists?
Posted by: The Canadian Sentinel at April 28, 2008 12:49 PMDamn Kate. Warren Kinsella was our Tonya Harding to your Nancy Kerrigan waaaay before the Clintons and Obama. SDA can read the wind.
Posted by: concrete at April 28, 2008 1:05 PMInexplicable? I'm betting she has pics of Pinch humpin' a chicken or something.
Posted by: mojo at April 28, 2008 1:59 PMAs rob at April 28, 2008 1:23 AM pointed out, Dowd's musing "Is she draining him of his precious bodily fluids? Leeching his magic? Siphoning off his aura?" is a reference to Dr Strangelove, and is something more likely that Michelle Obama might do to him, or what Monica did to Bill.
"Ewwww" is the appropriate response to Dowd's dirty insinuation. Perhaps she has a fixation?
Posted by: aek at April 28, 2008 2:23 PMQuite apart from purely partisan observations, the current situation for the Democrats is fascinating.
It is a good example of that old maxim of "don't wish too hard, you might get what you wished for." The Democrats don't have boring old white guys for candidates, they've got a (putative) African-American and a woman: two ideal demographics to show how progressive their party is. Unfortunately, it is tearing the party apart: how do you respect the female vote without slighting the African-American one? And vice-versa of course. Ouch!
All the while, the clock is ticking and the Democrats are running out of time to develop a consolidated campaign against their real political opponent: John McCain.
By the way, Rex Murphy's take in the Mop and Pail this weekend was spot on.
Posted by: JJM at April 28, 2008 4:42 PMKate= You've done it again! Lovely shot on the Dowder,
ya she can write but phoof the smelly junk spouted doesn't help the timeless cause.
Hillary = Xenia Onatopp
Obama = That Canadian Colonel that gets his *whistles* crushed to death.
