So, here's the deal. If every person who reads this page would just drop $20 in my tip jar, I could buy myself glasses.
Plus, a new Dodge Ram 1500.

Posted by: Richard Ball at March 25, 2008 10:40 AMRam? Try a Tundra, Texas Edition. Or whatever has the biggest carbon footprint ;-)
Posted by: Texas Canuck at March 25, 2008 11:06 AMYou know, a successful "Buy Kate A New Dodge Truck" blogosphere campaign might be just enough to send the leftosphere to their rafters with ropes...
Posted by: Kate at March 25, 2008 11:11 AMKate, Kate, Kate.
A Dodge Ram 1500?
Why not buy a real truck?
Check out the Silverado. If you want to go all out, put a Duramax in it.
Im only thinking of your comfort, Kate, Chevvys ride like caddys
Wait for the 2009 RAM pickup. I was given a guided tour of the new model at the Detroit Auto Show by the head of Dodge Trucks, and it's a huge improvement over the '08.
You can read about it here:

Subaru FTW! *I like GM trucks too*
Posted by: theredsuit at March 25, 2008 11:26 AMmy vote is for a F150 4x4 FX4.
if not, then any ole F150 will do.
Posted by: J at March 25, 2008 11:43 AMKate - come buy your new truck in Alberta. No Provinciual Sales Tax.
Posted by: lmf at March 25, 2008 11:55 AMGMC Sierra crew cab 3/4-ton w/Duramax, loaded. Mine is an '05 which only has heated leather seats -- the '08s and newer also have COOLED leather seats. Ahhhhh. In Phoenix, in July, that is the closest thing to heaven you'll find...
If you go this route, be sure to get the short bed -- mine is long bed for pulling gooseneck horse trailer. It does ride fantastic and pulls like a dream, but parking anywhere in like *defined* parking spaces? Fuggeddaboudit. It's like parking a land barge.
If we do have a "buy Kate a truck" campaign I want to know what graphic Kate will paint on it, first. I want to see something like Warren Kinsella holding on to the grill as his body is dragged (metaphorically) under Kate's truck.
Posted by: the rat at March 25, 2008 12:07 PM20 Buck$ - the most rewarding vehicle payment I'll ever make !! :)
Posted by: ron in kelowna at March 25, 2008 12:11 PMI'll make you a deal - at the donor #1000 mark, I'll let you vote on the truck.
HRC exposed...worth a truck.
Warman exposed...worth the $20.
Kinsella with mud on his face ...priceless!
I thought THIS was the new Dodge RAM??

Posted by: jcl at March 25, 2008 12:51 PMDodge Ram sucks. Titan is the truck!
Posted by: Aaron at March 25, 2008 12:56 PMFunny story....long too.
My cousin, die hard Chevy guy. Like he would rather have had 3 sister who were wh---rs than a brother that drove a dodge.
But, has he says...
Know what made me buy a Dodge? When I was at a light a Dodge pulled away from me.
And it wasn't just a Dodge, It had a 30 foot 5th wheel behind it.
But that was not why I bought a Dodge.
No, that Dodge also had a boat behind the trailer, as it pulled away from me at a light.
But no, that is still not why I bought a Dodge.
The real reason I bought a Dodge is, as that truck pulled away from me at a light with a 30ft 5th wheel and a boat, the brakes were locked up on the boat trailer.
So, now I drive a Dodge.
(3500 Cummins 4X4 Nice truck)

Kate-I got a nice used '03 I'll sell you. Hemi, 4x4, quad cab, 148K, nice shape. Bad tailgate. Tip of the day- never try and load a race car with the trailer ball unlatched.
Posted by: Bill Greenwood at March 25, 2008 1:17 PMNah, buy a Bowtie or a GMC. Lee is right, you could be in a limosine. Try the Avalanches. Incredibly cool. Silverados are nice as well. Have owned both. Now have a Lincoln pick up. They're giving them away, and it's a beautiful vehicle. Plenty of power, over the top factory speaker system. Of course, the month after we got ours, the attorney across the street bought one as well. I have developed a slight soft spot for Chrysler since a couple of Dodges kept the "T" words [Toyota] from winning the Daytona 500 in front of my very eyes last month.
Posted by: iowavette at March 25, 2008 2:04 PMForget Dodge Ram 1500 , make it a Rocket Car .

Talk to a 'tell-it-like-it-is' Auto Recycler. They know :)

Can you say Hemi ?
,
Have owned Chevy, Dodge and Ford – Bar none, my Ford F150 4x4 has been the best truck for the value.
Bought a 1999 new in 2000 now with 146,000km and it drives like it came off the lot last week. Paint and interior looks great. I’ve considered updating to a new one but can’t justify it, it looks and runs so damned well, no issues or problems (except a cruise control recall on warranty that took an hour to change out).
Dodges like the Stampeders are not perfect but exciting, so you have to stick with your team. Chevys are so boringly functional, you'd swear they were Japanese.

Posted by: Joe Molnar at March 25, 2008 3:56 PMThe only reason we pulled out of VIETNAM was becuase of socialists scum like WALLEY KRONKITE and traitors like HANOI JANE
Posted by: Spurwing PLover at March 25, 2008 4:18 PMHey Kate, know why guys like wimmin who wear leather?
It reminds them of their trucks.
Posted by: rockyt at March 25, 2008 10:32 PMAnd the Viet Nam war was getting way too expensive also.
There is an estimated $450 billion (late 70s number) worth of US military metal rusting away in the Nam jungles.
That's why Tricky Nixon left the gold standard in 1971 to finance the US economy with printing presses.
Just like the US feds are doing as we speak.
