Hi there. I am very happy to say that I disposed of the TV 2 years ago. The main reason was of CBC & CTV propaganda crap. If they can not get the news right and have to continually put their personal spin on it, it is truly worthless. They should have all their funding took away. Oh, I'd like to add that I happened to land on Don Newman's "Politics" recently re. the Layton interview with Lou Dobbs on CNN.

Incredibly, Newman actually slurred Dobbs as "xenophobic", just like that, without justifying his slur.

That's the quality of those who produce the stuff we pay for. Newman seems to believe that those who believe in legal immigration, secure borders and upholding the law eqitably is "xenophobic".

That was the last straw for me. Newman's no professional and I'm surprised this incident hasn't come up.

It's similar to communism in that both are a socialist or group-based ideology kept in place by authoritarian rule. Of course, both posit that 'when purity exists, the authoritarian rule will no longer be necessary'. Heh.

The difference between these two communitarian ideologies is minor. Communism posits that History naturally evolves from a primitive individualistic mode to a social, communal mode. The notion of 'progress' to this Final Purity is communist.

Fascism posits an a priori purity (rather than a posteriori). It is located within a people or a nation; it is an 'essentialist Will', focused around a Chosen People or Nation.

The group is primary, the private sphere is reduced to zero (same as communism). Fascism is against progress, focusing instead on that Original Purity which must be, somehow, expressed. Establishing a nation where that Original Purity can be expressed is a paramount duty of all citizens.

Both reject dissent, questions and debate and instead, focus on 'group-think' homogeneity, with everyone focused on The Pure That is Good.

Both are against democracy, both are against reason; instead, focusing on a fatalistic Will.

Both acknowledge struggle and war as basic necessities to enable the Pure to exist.

At the end of the day, it will be a good fight.

CBC, well we already knew they were pretty hopeless.
