Great clip. I thought it amazing that he was able to exit and re-enter the plane on the same jump/soar... (!). "This isn't flying; it's falling with style!"
I see, though, that the flyer lost his life in another skydiving accident. Sad.
For powered human flight, it's still hard to beat 'Jet Man' Yves Rossy.

That was great.
How long does it take to get to that level of expertise.
Can't help but think of Wile E. Coyote when I see this.

Posted by: Shaken at March 16, 2008 1:07 PMThe Discovery Channel recently did a story on this fellow ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bEXxkWXncuo ) who is building and flying a variety of strap-on jet-powered wing backpacks. It doesn't seem much safer, but I think I'd rather have the powered version.

Naw, Flying Squirrels perfected that kind of gliding long ago but they know better than to land where there is a blender out front :(
