"President of Pretty Cloud"...That has to stick!
I find that picture to be very Lenin-esque.

"A NEW POPE"
He is doing religion not politics.
Posted by: John West at March 13, 2008 10:31 AMThis isn't surprising at all.
All groups of humans NEED religion whether they are willing to admit it or not. It's probably hard-wired into our brains.
Communists and lefties in general tend to reject organized, official religion. So, their need surfaces in other ways. But in any case, you are always guaranteed to find two types of symbols or imagery among any group that holds a common faith:
1) A patriachal figure - which often grows into a personality cult. Watch for upcoming images of "Obama with the children" to rival those of "Jesus with the children" and "Lenin with the children."
2) A belief system that is convinced that humans are inherently sinful and are heading towards a catastrophic "judgment day" that the leader can help us transcend. They've just replaced "God" with "The Environment" (or "Gaia").
Posted by: bryceman at March 13, 2008 10:35 AM"A New Hope"???
Oh come on. That is SOOOO 1977.
"Help me Obama Kenobi, you're our only hope."
Posted by: jhuck at March 13, 2008 10:40 AMHold on a sec... Clapton and Winwood are reuniting?!?!?!? Seeing as I can't read the inside of the mag, I'll have to take that statement on blind faith.
Posted by: Doogie at March 13, 2008 10:43 AMIt's Captain America, Jesus and Martin Luther King jr. held together as one, with the marvels of wind generated electricity.
Could you imagine if Reagan was treated this way back in the day, where the western world would stand right now?
Heil Caesar.
Posted by: irwin daisy at March 13, 2008 11:05 AMIt reminds me of some of those 70's and 80's hockey cards, when players changed teams, so their uniforms were rather comically painted over. Makes me ask what team was he originally playing for, before the suit and tie were airbrushed on?
Posted by: gobi desert at March 13, 2008 11:08 AMNotice the Clapton reference at the bottom.
Eric Clapton is going to Pyongyang to entertain Kim Jong Chol(Il's son, who's the heir apparent in North Korea)...

I can hardly wait to see the flame job they do for the McCain background.
Posted by: The Phantom at March 13, 2008 11:13 AMGood Morning America took a hard look at his Preacher buddy this morning - take about racist sermons.
The media is just starting to look into BO's past dealings and what he has hidden under which rock.
Let the games begin

someone needs to photoshop a couple of cinnamon danish to Geraldine Ferreros portrait.
Posted by: cal2 at March 13, 2008 11:28 AMI predict that at some point down the road even the Democrats will wonder how and why they supported and even deified this destructive false prophet.
If elected and if he lives, Obama will divide America more than anyone can imagine. It will not only be a left and right divide, but a severe racial divide as well. Canada will have much to lose.
We'd better all hope for a McCain victory.

Posted by: OMMAG at March 13, 2008 11:44 AMI read on a blog somewhere, don't rember which one, that if Obama is elected president, the U-s will have an "Obama-nation."
LOL Ed,
Posted by: dinosaur at March 13, 2008 11:47 AMBoy, are those leftards setting themselves up for disappointment!!
Even if Obama was a golden boy instead of an empty vat of clichés, the second coming of Jesus would be a letdown after all of this hype! Obama is letting his lickspittle fans set him up for failure. No one is hated more than the former followers of a false-messiah!
Good luck to this guy. His followers are chasing a dream that can't be real. When this guy turns out to be just another leftard hypocrite, they're gonna be cryin' and bawlin'.
He's certainly hiding what he really stands for very carefully so it doesn't have to be defended. I guess that's what the media hacks were referring to when they rail on about "hidden agendas" then. They just accused the wrong guy of it (as usual.)
Posted by: Warwick at March 13, 2008 11:56 AMIf they put a point on his ear, he would be the spitting image of Spock, in Wrath of Kahn.
...oh yeah, forgot.... logic wouldn't be an asset to a democrate.
Posted by: Honey Pot at March 13, 2008 12:37 PMHandsome young fella on the cover, there, but did you catch the really important item down low, left "Clapton and Winwood to Re-unite"!
Posted by: Dmorris at March 13, 2008 1:15 PMHe really does look like Curious George.
Posted by: Karl the Krud at March 13, 2008 2:12 PMI was just reading and someone mentioned that as President this guy will get to appoint judges.
Sure makes President Bushes Supreme Court appointments look very, very wise.
Posted by: Jeff Cosford at March 13, 2008 3:08 PMQuestion to the MSM: does BO smell, or not?
The producers of deodorants need to know.
Posted by: Yoop at March 13, 2008 3:24 PMI like it. It's going right next to my oil paintings of Stalin, Castro, Hitler, Pol Pot and Stephen Harper (I just think he's a great strong leader - not trying to suggest anything untoward!!).
And Warwick, your statement - "When this guy turns out to be just another leftard hypocrite, they're gonna be cryin' and bawlin'" - doesn't make a whole lotta sense. Us lefties LIKE hypocrites, or at least I was led to believe by SDA. Plus, we're all a buncha whiny little babies anyway, so as if the idea of crying doesn't appeal. It's what we need the nanny state for! Jeebus, pay attention to the talking points!
Posted by: JohnnyRingo at March 13, 2008 4:30 PMi cannot help myself - i swear i am a fan of terry gilliam for too long - i look at the portrait and hear j-p de sousa marching music. i think his lid will open up and some sausage machine will pop up and start cranking.
Posted by: johnnyonline at March 13, 2008 6:35 PMA new hope!
A call to history!
I believe! I believe!
In what I don't know; certainly Obama believes in himself, but anything else?
Is he just a vainglorious poseur or is he a dangerous, vainglorious poseur.

What's the betting that once the dems are elected, Al Gore will be made secretary of state for global warming.
Posted by: RW at March 13, 2008 6:43 PMRW SAID: Al Gore must be getting jealous

Hey M8, as I understand it from reading this blogsite, if the Dems get elected, it is a sign that the Apocalypse will soon be upon us.
My guess on our demise: a new ice age (the Lord may be wrathful, but is not without a sense of humor).
At least that should put Gore out, as well as the rest of us, out of respective misery, if nothing else.
Cheers!

Posted by: shaken at March 14, 2008 2:12 AMTypically the US President will throw out the first pitch at a baseball game. How's that supposed to happen if McCain can't raise his arms above his shoulders? What's he going to do, pretend it's softball? Perhaps he can throw the first spare on the Professional Bowlers Tour instead.
