Good stuff!Hoping to see some pictures of your 'Minuteman'.Have you met Uno in your travels?

Our beagle, Cooey, doesn't relax! She'll be meeting up with Remmington soon for a shotgun wedding.Hopefully she can learn to relax when he comes to visit.

Hey, how come they all look the same? ~:D

"Hey, how come they all look the same?"

Remember that every time you read a "news" story uncovering the little known fact that purebred dogs may be "inbred".

"Inbred purebred" isn't exactly like "water wet". More like "water water".

Don't have much to say except that nothing is finer than a good dog. I picked up a belgian
sheepdog (all Blck) puppy for my son last saturday and now the fun begins.
Thank you for taking the time to show us some wonderful pics mel

Should be a law that every kid gets to have a pet to love and look after.
Solve a lot of problems.

It has worked on criminals in jail, but would work much better on the little gaffers.

Come ere Kyoto, dat's ha good boy.

Posted by: h.ryan. at February 13, 2008 12:25 PM

I'll stick with my Shepherd/Husky crossbreed. She has the best of both worlds (smarts, energy and affection) and no health problems.

She would also rip the throat out of that Libtard-inbred "Kyoto" any day.

Posted by: Doug at February 13, 2008 12:36 PM

We had a beagle/doberman cross for many years. Beagle body, doberman attitude.

Posted by: Free Thinker at February 13, 2008 12:39 PM

What are you talking about? The average Doberman already has a beagle attitude.

Posted by: Kate at February 13, 2008 12:42 PM

Beagle/Doberman?

What about a Chihuahua/Newfoundland?

Right about the Beagle attitude, the first dog to bite me was a Beagle.

Posted by: Doug at February 13, 2008 12:44 PM

What, no picture of the Standard Poodle? Remi? Best of Breed, Best Non-Sporting ;)

I know better than to argue dogs with Kate. If the nose is wet and the tail wags, I'm good with it. ~:D

My ex and her family had Miniature Schnauzers.

Can't say I have an appreciation for them any more...

Posted by: Warwick at February 13, 2008 1:09 PM

Kate, you dogist.

Posted by: Shaken at February 13, 2008 1:14 PM

Best dog I ever had was a German shepherd, growing up it went every where my twin brother and I went. When we both left for the military I think a part of his sole left as well,he was never the same.I still think about him and miss him like a lost family member.

Posted by: h.ryan. at February 13, 2008 1:31 PM

Meant to say soul.

Posted by: h.ryan. at February 13, 2008 1:36 PM

why arent any of them named "Bam"

"you know Bam the Dog." Borat Dion

Posted by: cal2 at February 13, 2008 1:37 PM

Watched the whole show, and loved every minute! My Newf watched with me,and he was quite infatuated with the gorgeous Border Collie.Nothing finer,or more stress relieving, than spending time with my four-footed boys.Loved the little Uno,he just made me smile, and isn't that the whole point?

Posted by: Sammy at February 13, 2008 1:38 PM

That was a great quip from Dion, that was the first time I actually ever heard him stray from script,he shouldn't.

Posted by: h.ryan. at February 13, 2008 1:46 PM

How come the judges feel the dogs' balls? Is it to check that they're real? If they're fake, is that an automatic DQ?

Interesting also that most or all dogs appear to be male...

Forgive me... I'm dog-show illiterate! :)

Hang Hang On Snoopy, Snoopy Hang On.

I'll be damned and a Beagle too boot. That'll do Uno, that'll do.

Beautiful Beagle.
Beautiful gussied up Schnauzers too, if only they could stay that way without a lot of work!

Posted by: Liz J at February 13, 2008 2:16 PM

Where does Dion enter into this thread on dogs? Did he show his dog Kyoto?
Sorry, I've known some fine dogs, Dion is no dog.

Posted by: Liz J at February 13, 2008 2:19 PM

I like the way he leans when he corners.

Posted by: dean spencer - fox at February 13, 2008 2:21 PM

Ah! I get it.

hunter + hunting gun + dogs from above = small dead animals

Very cute, Kate.

Attention hunters: Would you aim for the head or the heart?

Posted by: hunter at February 13, 2008 2:28 PM

Since the cotton tail population has rebounded, I bet this dog becomes more popular.

Thanks to our friend global warming.
"They're (rabbits) also doing much better this year in eastern Ontario, adds OOD Field Editor and biologist Bob Bailey. "Recent mild winters have been good for cottontails here."

A real underdog.

Posted by: richfisher at February 13, 2008 3:16 PM

I wonder if WK owns a beagle, he sort of has the attitude. lol

Posted by: Free Thinker at February 13, 2008 4:02 PM

Warren = Rabbit

Posted by: richfisher at February 13, 2008 4:12 PM

Warren owns a gerbil which he races often.

Posted by: h.ryan. at February 13, 2008 4:17 PM

About time Beagles get their due!!!
I am a Beagle owner and they are as sharp as a whip and most gentle dogs in existence :)

Posted by: Claude at February 13, 2008 4:18 PM
I wonder if WK owns a beagle, he sort of has the attitude.

Actually no, more like a Bichon. All bark and tiny little fangs and no bite. In other words, an annoying ankle biter that you eventually kick in the teeth and it shuts up.

Posted by: Doug at February 13, 2008 4:19 PM

Doug,
How dare you degrade the beagle breed by comparing their personality to WK. He may look like the backend of a Beagle with its tail up but that's where the resemblance ends:)

Posted by: Claude at February 13, 2008 4:49 PM

Doug, hope you never own a dog, the very idea of kicking a pet dog in the teeth or anywhere else is repulsive to me as a dog lover. You're not serious, right?
Kinsella could reincarnate as an ankle biter, he's already good at nipping, the transcending would be smooth.

Posted by: Liz J at February 13, 2008 5:01 PM
How come the judges feel the dogs' balls?
They are checking the dogs licking ability.

Posted by: Slap Shot at February 13, 2008 5:07 PM

Very cute. Actually, they're counting to two.

Posted by: Kate at February 13, 2008 5:17 PM

I see. Counting to two. The dogs or the judges?

Posted by: The Canadian Sentinel at February 13, 2008 5:27 PM

Warren = Rabbit

Oh, no. He's a pussy. Dogs love to chase those, too...

Posted by: The Canadian Sentinel at February 13, 2008 5:30 PM

Warren owns a gerbil which he races often.

At least it keeps him from taking pictures in boys' bathrooms.

Posted by: The Canadian Sentinel at February 13, 2008 5:34 PM

My brother and I noted his dog licking himself,I asked him "wouldn't it be nice if you could do that",to which he responded with a resounding "yes",to which I replied"go ahead,he won't bite you".

Posted by: h.ryan. at February 13, 2008 5:51 PM

I love Beagles but I swear they can fly, I use to dog sit one named Omar and I had a fully fenced yard with 12' of chicken wire undergroud and that bloody dog always got out of the compound. I'd hear him howling as he scented his prey, to funny.

My dog was visiously attacked this afternoon by the meanest little critter ever to walk of four legs. Tucker is a Apso, and he hates black dogs. He had my dogs back leg in a tight grip, drew blood. His owner told me to kick him next time, hello the dog weighs three pounds I could kill him if I kicked him. Thankfully my mutt doesn't mind the odd attack by midgets breeds. He just stands there waiting for them to finish biting him.

Posted by: Rose at February 13, 2008 5:53 PM

Liz, if you read my previous posts you will have your answer.

Ankle-biters are not dogs. They are glorified furry rats and kicking them in the teeth is what they deserve. Kind of like whining, self-loathing liberals.

Posted by: Doug at February 13, 2008 6:09 PM

Yes, but do they ever do anything remotely USEFUL??

Posted by: kakola at February 13, 2008 7:20 PM

doug

I have an ankle biter, and he would damn well let you know your ankle wuz bit

pound for pound one of the strongest dogs there is

and his name is CHOMPER, a well deserved name:-))))

Posted by: GYM at February 13, 2008 8:41 PM

Doug, I have three yorkshire terriers.... kick one of them and find out how much I prefer my dogs over humans, especially lefty turds like you... go ahead (do pick out your wheelchair ahead of time - it'll save you grief in the long run - and yes, I'm big enough to whup your ass, boy)

Posted by: Caveman at February 13, 2008 8:45 PM

An FYI for those that love dogs, the Uno and his pals will be on OLN Saturday and Sunday evening. Three hours each night.

Every Texan's heart swells with understandable pride as one of our native sons is singled out for this honor.

As a Texan and a Beagle, K-Run's Park Me in First is truly a dog of distinction.

When the litany of the great names from the Lone Star State are recited, K-Run's Park Me in First will join the ranks of those other immortals that are far from our praise.

Numero Uno, Uno!

Posted by: Greg in Dallas at February 13, 2008 11:12 PM

Great looking dogs ... but my dog is the the best, Husky - Golden Retriever cross ... he knows when I need to pet him.

BTW: Judges don't need to know how to count to two for him.

Posted by: ural at February 14, 2008 12:25 AM

UNO: You had me at first bark.

I am not a dog person but my wife IS... but the beagle touched my heart when I saw its raction after the announcement that it had won.
Sheer elation..kinda infectious wouldn't you say.

Posted by: eastern paul at February 14, 2008 2:27 AM

...and no i didn't stay up all night wondering if there was a Dog.
