Banning red things which celebrate Valentine's Day. Well the day is in honour of Saint Valentine, is it not? He is a Catholic saint, or religous figure.

Seems awefully disrepectful of another religion to ban the celebration of a saint. Also, isn't this a celebration of love?

This ban brought to you by the "religion of peace and love," or is that "peace and tolerance."

Hopefully the men have already stocked up on some sexy La Senza red lingerie for their sweethearts.

Someone needs to tell Bush he invaded the wrong country...

He should have looked at his target (Iraq) and then moved either up (Iran) or down (Saudi Arabia).

Either one would have done more good than Iraq. Too bad the US is a wholly owned subsidiary of the house of Saud (both parties and the civil service.)

... and strip searched ...

That must be the culprit!

Somehow or other I can't help but believe that Warren Kinsella would approve of this kind of sensorship.

Its just a matter of time before someone or group in Canada feels that Valentines Day is offending them & complains to the Big Brother Police.

Saudi Arabia bans all things red ahead of Valentine's Day

Jewish blood excepted.

Saudi Arabia is a prime example of what the Islamist want to create in the Free West, and it looks like Political Islam is winning on all fronts. Wahhabi Islam is thriving in Canada, funded by Saudi Araba. A prime example of Political Islam is CAIR wanting to enforce seven century Sharia Law on Muslim Women and Children.

On a side note in England rickets has made a resurgance because of the Burka, lack of vit. D is literally bringing back a seven century desease. How absolutely sad is that, modesty over the health of children. Have these males a modicum of shame?

Hey, you never know what's under those black shrouds. Their western dressed husbands and masters probably do buy them sexy undies to titillate their own fancies.
Keep your eyes peeled next time your in Victoria's Secret, their easy to spot.

I think its Mama Khadr and the two bag lady sisters making their way over for a CBCpravda interview. looks like a fine Trona landscape in the background of powerpoles and snow.

No surprise here. One day my father was stopped on a while driving down a road in Saudi Arabia, whereupon the police ripped the car horn out his white Chevy Nova. The police were stopping every white car and removing the horn. They tossed his on a big pile that was collecting at the side of the road. And the reason? Earlier that day, somebody in a white car beeped their car horn at a local "Prince". Not far away was a pile of bicycles collected in days gone by. Surely a similar risible anecdote lay beneath that rusty pile of bikes.

I don't chalk this up to stupidity, but rather to unconstrained behavior - an example, albeit rather benign, of the degree to which power can and does become progressively abused unless a counter-force is applied. The ensuing rationalizations begin to resemble pretzels. In this instance, immorality. Too bad for the happily married couples, trios, quartets and quintets that wish to acknowledge their love and affection for each other - spoiled what could have been one heck of a bonanza down at the souqs.

This is the flaw in the CHRC implementation in Canada - insufficient counterbalance to offset potential abuses. The law at least needs to be changed to ensure no doors are left open for abuse. Lucy's behavior is but a step along the path to banning red merchandise. I can think of few "average" Canadians that would find Lucy's "alleged" behavior acceptable. They merely aren't informed thanks to our lapdogs in the press.

If one is going to argue that there should be limits to free speech, then one has the obligation to look critically at the implementation under law to ensure fairness, balance, due process and safeguards against abuse. I am astounded that the two prominent lawyers who troll here from time to time, and champion the CHRC, don't say boo about the flawed implementation - about the quality of the law - which speaks volumes about about their concept of law - to which I say - no thanks. I do keep in mind that not all lawyers graduate at the top of their class.

Now with respect to the "black crows", my understanding is this custom arose because of tribal raiding rather than piety - when females are shrouded thus, it is difficult to kidnap selectively during a lightning raid.

Now that's a highly concentrated bit of truth I'm so sorry to have to say. It is now crystal clear to me that Iraq was the wrong target. And this surge stuff, albeit good news, is really just short term tactical success and the end result will be sorta like buying a stock at $10, watching it go down to $5 and then selling it when it gets back to $9. And you nail it when you point out that the Saudi blackmail covers both parties and the bureaucracy. And oh yeah, most of the ME Studies Departments in important universities which will eventually provide the new "talent" for the diplomatic corps.

BTW, I presume you know that James Baker's law firm is defending Saudi Arabia against the victims of 9/11?
And that Saudi student visas are at an all time high (25,000 I think I read somewhere)

Sad isn't it, Bush sends the Military to die under the guise of hunting terrorist and yet he opens the doors of the US to be flooded with Saudi Radical Islamists who's aim is a Global Caliphate and the spread of Wahhabi Islam (spit). Whom does one trust these days, Shirly not the government.

The Islamic prison cell just keeps getting smaller.

Can somebody say extreme paranoia?

And they scream that the rest of the world has a phobia of Islam? Heh.

Posted by: irwin daisy at February 12, 2008 7:34 PM

Since the Saudis are so close to the US political infrastructure, I wonder how long it would take to cap the wells and re-initialize production if there was to be a sort of 'friendly-fire' type nuclear accident over there.

The western world made them rich beyond imagination and they still act like turds and wish to spread their oppresive (7th century) 'wisdom' to the rest of the planet.

I think it's time to stop giving and start taking.

Lets ban Muslims.

I bet some of those chicks are wearing the hottest red underwear ever created underneath the tents. Rebellion simmers under the surface for a looooong time before it boils over.

Nice mental image. Think I'll keep that one. ~:D
