Dear Mr. Awan

Heh.

"Were you writing on your own behalf? Or were you writing on behalf of the Ontario Superior Court Of Justice?"

Look for them to move on to plan B. If you know anything about islam you know it is critical for them to keep the truth about Islam from coming out.
They are not very smart but they are very persistent

What an excellent reply from the Honourable Jason Kenny. We need a majority of politicians like him.

Orvict makes a valid point, which, again, is why we need politicians who are willing to take a stand.

"Chutzpah!" LOL! That oughtta tick him off.

Posted by: Doogie at January 18, 2008 4:31 AM

w.kinsella is likely complaining about Mr. Kenney's racism even now. The Gall! to be speaking to a Superior human being like that!

Posted by: otter at January 18, 2008 6:07 AM

Keep turning over those rocks, Mr. Kenney. The more the Canadian public knows about these whackjobs, the easier it will be to cut off funding, arrest and deport the more radical ones.

The sheer hypocrisy of these radicals boggles the mind. Yell and scream for the death of certain peoples, yet cry like little babies if one tries to have a balanced discussion on the subject.

And these are the same idiots who are trying to institute sharia law in Ontario. Good luck with that, you fundamentalist morons. If premier mccavein even tries it, the ensuing uprising will make Caledonia look like a picnic in comparison.

It is time to draw the line(Levant, Steyn, Kenney)and not give one inch to these hypocrite, mamby-pamby wannabe lovers of 72 virgins.

It's worth noting the prestigous articling position this twerp occupies, but he doesn't seem to have a clue about the principles of our judicial system and government. Or perhaps he doesn't care, as long as he can use his position to bully people into silence.

Posted by: dean spencer - fox at January 18, 2008 7:20 AM

And you thought you had to be smart to get into law school. Maybe Osgoode has an affirmative action program...

Did you know that one of their complaints against Steyn is that he reviewed a novel (that is, a work of fiction) about a Muslim takeover of America. The complainants thought _he_ was saying that... Muslims were going to take over America.

Now, so what? is my answer. But anyway: these guys can't tell non-fiction from fiction. And by these guys I do mean belligerent Muslims; in previous encounters I've noticed that they don't really understand concepts like "art" and "fiction". Very literal minded fellows.

Posted by: Kathy Shaidle at January 18, 2008 7:36 AM

I read about this confusion last night at steynonline, Kathy. BTW, he really puts you on a pedestal in one of his posts! Nice.

Anyway... Mr. Kenney's response throws into sharp relief the two mindsets or philosophies at play here, does it not? On one hand you have a conservative MP espousing classic liberal ideals, such as free speech, and on the other you have a prospective theocrat advocating state censorship of any speech or text whatsoever that is critical of Islam or which openly questions the veracity of Muslims claims about their ideology.

Thank God for Jason Kenney and all clear-thinking leaders like him.

Posted by: mark peters at January 18, 2008 8:01 AM

I got only one thing to say - If I'm the Chief Justice of the Ontario Court of Justice, Awan is on the street looking for another job. A-hole!

Posted by: a different Bob at January 18, 2008 8:28 AM

You have to be smart to get into law school?
No way, too many examples that actually scream the opposite.

Whether radicals know the difference between fiction and non-fiction is hard to figure. We might ask if their ideology is built on fiction.
They never give up an opportunity to make a scene, no matter how ridiculous or far fetched.

We have to use asinine outbursts from these crazy beings as examples of why we should NEVER allow Sharia law in Ontario or anywhere else in this Country. If Sharia law is of such importance to them they know where to go. If it's part of their religion no doubt the followers will abide it, it has no place in the laws of the Land.

Posted by: Liz J at January 18, 2008 8:45 AM

I wish CPC would quit playing with these deranged agitators and bitch-slap them back to civility.

First step is to yank any tax free status this Muslim pressure group has and/or run a tax audit on them...charitable organizations don't politic and foment civil mischief.

Seems these Muslim pressure groups are patterning themselves after the Jewish pressure groups...both are thin skinned, self interested, intolerant and want to exercise undue influence on political policy making....but the CIC are just less refined in technique and more visible.

I look at the Human rights complaints cases and the Jewish pressure groups have the Muslim pressure groups outnumbered 4 to one in hyper sensitive vexatious descrimination suits so it's catch-up mode for the Muzzie agitators.

Political pressure groups from all major religions should have ZERO impact on policy making and all should be defunded of federal grants, subsidies, tax free status or special privileges...these are POLITICAL LOBBIES and should be treated as such....register them and tax them.

Posted by: WL Mackenzie Redux at January 18, 2008 8:56 AM

And another thing:

these guys and their supporters can't spell or construct simple sentences, either.

For example, they actually spell "Maclean's" wrong in the TITLE OF THE HRC COMPLAINT they filed!

They also can't spell, and when you point this out at their blogs like LawIsCool, they actually say "spelling doesn't count" like they're in Grade 4.

What scares me is that these lawyers will one day be running Canada, just like lawyers are now.

Posted by: Kathy Shaidle at January 18, 2008 9:00 AM

Kathy: do you really think they subscribe to the magazine...or read it?

Posted by: WL Mackenzie Redux at January 18, 2008 10:06 AM

Wonder if he got the job there via affirmative action?

Was some lower caste Canukistani shoved aside, as part of enriching diversity.

Posted by: dinosaur at January 18, 2008 10:11 AM

Lets' see. Jason Kenney has re-stated something that was said by by Elmasry. Which is pretty similar to Steyn restating something that was said by some radical imam in the UK. It follows then that Jason Kenney will likely be hauled up in front of the HRC. That'll get this thing into the open as far as the mainstream media is concerned!

Posted by: John Luft at January 18, 2008 10:14 AM

Reading Mr. Kenney's brilliant letter gave me a much needed lagh this morning. Kudos to him!

I too wish that the young, foolish Mr. Awan is given his walking papers, and now! If one of my CA students added our firm name in such correspondence, that too would be a firing offence!

The chutzpah indeed. More so, these young lawyers are defintiely not too bright. They have totally underestimated the opposition: Mr. Levant, Mr. Steyn, Mr. Kenny, Kathy, et al.

Let this be a warning to any anti-democratic folks, that real Canadians will not stand to see our beloved Canadian tradtions (BTW, I am the first born Canadian in my family) torn down by ANYBODY!

I wouldn't want to be Mr. Awan this morning, that's for sure. :D

Posted by: Dante at January 18, 2008 10:56 AM

Kenney's made a good move - the government is now publicly questioning the credibility of the HRC complainants against Mark Steyn. This serves two purposes: one, it officially weakens the moral position those trying to stifle criticism of islamic doctrines within Canada and two, it's a warning shot across the bow of the good ship HRC to wake them up and get the HRC moving back into their much narrower mandated shipping lane.

If the HRC continues it's bizarre push of unilateral revisions to the Charter of Rights, Kenney's next shot may be much more direct.

Anyone who thinks the MSM at all levels is not out to put down the Conservative government of Stephen Harper should read a few newspapers like Globe and Mail or Ottawa Citizen.
Some of the cartoons are beyond the pale like the one in the Globe and Mail today of Harper.
Never mind he's our PM, doing a good job and deserves respect for his high Office.

It's about time we go after these twits who appoint themselves all-knowing on all subjects on how to run a government.
We don't give a rat's ass what they think, we require only the facts, we can think for ourselves. This is Banana Republic tactics.

Posted by: Liz J at January 18, 2008 12:53 PM

It's sort of a Freudian slip. When your personal identity is that of a Jew-hating fascist and a murderous religious fanatic, you might tend to overdo your identification with the role you have assumed in an enemy alien culture.

Posted by: abcd at January 18, 2008 2:58 PM

Re: the comments on "Jewish pressure groups and Muslim pressure groups", you missed several others such as homosexual, hard feminist, etc.

I think they are better identified as special interest groups and none of them should be receiving public funding. Let them exist or not exist based solely on membership donations. I state this as a Jew myself, especially knowing that most of the Jewish groups in this case are run by non religious secular leftish Jews whose causes are not mine. Again as a Jew I expect equal treatment under the law and not special treatment. There is simply no justification for public funding of any special interest group.

The Honourable Jason Kenny's letter brought a smile to my face. Excellent way to give Mr. Awan a well deserved shot.

What is most informative is that the Honourable Jason Kenny reproduces the original cc list Mr. Awan used in his letter. That is proof of the convergence of the Canadian Left with the Islamist movement that is now in Canada and a handy list of who's who in that toxic mix.

Posted by: Martin at January 18, 2008 7:37 PM

I think it's an excellent response but I have to say I am sickened by many of your responses:

Orvict: "They are not very smart but they are very persistent"

Good to see racism is alive and well in the blogosphere! How about some intelligent discussion based on facts!!!

Posted by: disgusted at January 18, 2008 8:08 PM

Disgusted, once again Islam is NOT a race.

Orvict stated a fact "They are not very smart but they are very persistent" The whole basis of Islam as ET has stated so many times is not to reason or elevate their society but maintain its ignorance through submission to religious dogma. Their whole mantra is not to reach for the stars but grovel in the dirt.

Posted by: Dave at January 18, 2008 8:37 PM

hey disgusted, you're on the hit list from the dumbass islamists, whether you realize it or not. Sorry to say that I won't lift a finger to save your sorry ass when the time comes. I believe in gene pool cleansing and you're a bacteria.

Posted by: Anon at January 18, 2008 9:06 PM

SPLAT!!!!!!!!!!
Now that made a refreshing change.

Posted by: Colin at January 19, 2008 12:52 AM

One more note, Disgusted. I don't believe that all members of Islam are simple. But if there was any semblance of intelligence in this Fundamentalist-Islamist sub group, would they continue to aspire to live in the dark ages?

Posted by: Gus at January 19, 2008 1:00 PM

Liz: smart & law school

I think these folks are reflecting what they are taught in law school.

The idiot that used Supreme Court letterhead to write a politician is doing what they are taught. He wouldn't be there unless he had good marks.

Fear the future.

More and more people should call the bluff of folks who would use the kangaroo-court, so-called "Human Rights" Commissions to take away our rights.

They cannot possibly take us ALL to those hopping-mad commissions of inquisition. Therefore they'd have to settle for doing it to high-profile victims like Mr. Kenney (apparently Mr. Levant isn't high-profile enough for the corrupt, dhimmi, unreliable and increasingly irrelevant mainstream media to bother to say boo about what's really going on, which is that Canadians are having their rights taken away whenever Muslims --or GLBTs or any other special-interest groups with significant militant subgroups setting the agenda for the whole-- demand it happen).

This whole intolerable system of the taking away of rights from regular, law-abiding Canadians has to be exposed to the average joe and jane on the Canadian street so that they will then rightly, justifiably fear having theirs taken away by fascist nodes of the Leftist-dominated and -controlled state apparatus. And then force the government to abolish these fascist kangaroo courts and declare each and every past conviction thereby to be invalid, null and void and then compensate all victims thereof for the financial abuse they suffered as a result of this unconstitutional, illegal, hateful persecution of law-abiding Canadian citizens.

As Ezra Levant said,

Sic semper tyrannis!

I think to many people equate intelligence with smarts. Most of the academically bright and intelligent people I know are stupid as hell, my cousin for instance, uin prof. They can articulate dozens of solutions for anything and everything but couldn’t find their own ass with their hands tied behind their back. Is it just me or does there seem to be a direct correlation between intelligence and the lack of reality?

Posted by: Western Canadian at January 19, 2008 8:40 PM

Is Awan's letter available on line? Clearly he wrote his letter as a private citizen and he should not have signed it as a law clerk of the Chief Justice of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice. Frankly, he should be reprimanded for purporting to speak in any official capacity.

The fact that Mr. Awan would not know this is remarkable. As a lawyer who is much troubled by the Muslim and HRC attack on free speech I find Mr. Awan's letter very disturbing, and surprising, even in this age of mindless political correctness. If someone would post Awan's letter to Jason Kenney I will take it up directly with the office of the Chief Justice of Ontario. And I will let you know what response I get.

Note to poster screaming RACISM blah blah, Islam isn't a race yet. They are giving it the ole collage try in Africa though. The Arab Wahhabis are slaughtering as many Africian male non-Wahhabis as they can. They are really busy raping women and children in the name of the prophet what's his name. Until they completely cull all native Africains out of Africa (by killing them no less) they won't be a race thus until then might I tell you to STFU about RACISM.

That letter was sent with the clear objective to intimindate Mr. Kenny. A blatant attempt by yet another Political Radical Islamist to silence any voice they don't want to speak. He should be fired, he has no right using an official title that isn't his to use. Have they no shame, well no they don't.
