Oboma did good.. real good! The MSM are on his side now! She will have to KILL him, but Oboma now has the Big Time Secret Service.

Even Bubba was over with Oboma's group trying to get lucky.

That's Mr. Justice Bubba to you Bub.

Thought related to the timing of one of the boos: what if politically-promised "change" nowadays merely means a change of horse when going down more of the same track?

Posted by: Daniel M. Ryan at January 5, 2008 1:57 AM

It's gonna get nasty and I hope it ends up with the Clintons' going away - for good.

The Clinton News Network (CNN) virtually ignored the historic win by Obama and concentrated on Huckabee because that's the guy CNN and the Dems want so they can trash an evangelical Christian without going near any of the issues of the day for easy political gain.

Posted by: LEDA at January 5, 2008 4:36 AM

What I have always found strange is how GWB and now Huckabee and Romney were attacked in the press for their "Christianity" but others (who also attended Christian churches) were not. The only common denominator seems to be the GOP.

Obama attends Trinity United Church (according to his own website)...ostensibly this makes him a Christian and ostensibly he believes in "the ghost that made the world in 7 days". Why is HE not targetted with the same anti-Christian attacks as Huckabee and Romney?

That was a rhetorical question. And yes, I understand what the United Church stands (and doesn't stand) for.

The best defense is a good offense. When asked about Christian heritage by the MSM, the Republicans should say "Ya, hows about that Obama guy goin' to church, huh? Scary!".

If Clinton does not take big numbers (and she won't) Obama will be the Dem darling but either way Clinton will be in the white house as either VP or the grand pubah....the ticket was preordained...Clinton-Obama or Obama-Clinton the salt and pepper fabians of the Dem cartel.

Actually if Obama begins to carry some larger caucus votes expect the soft Dem support drop away to Ron Paul.

The real story in Iowa was Rudy's severe beating and Ron Paul's unexpected 10%...but I've yet to see MSM "pundit" nattering even touch this development.

I also predict the 2008 elelection will reveal, to a wider audience, the MSM to be the vacuous, gibbering, pandering manipulators of public opinion that we know them to be....their partisan pimping and outright fabrication of "polling results" in these primaries is the worst I've ever witnessed.

Religion, specifically the Christian religion is used as a battering ram against the GOP by the Leftoids and their buddies in the MSM.

They want to be sure we know if a Republican candidate is "born again Christian" or "Evangelical Christian" as if that is somehow a bad thing. Otherwise why would they even mention it?

One would think, in this enlightened era, that tired old tactic would have no clout, but that would never stop desperate people in the political arena.

Obama better watch his back- if he wins again in N.H. next week Hillary may decide to "do a Bhutto" on him.

Mark Steyn discusses the Christian Left vs. the Secular Left with his customary brilliance.

I sometimes think our slagging the US media about covering Christianity in politics reflects our cultural prejudices and not American reality

In my understanding of American politics it would seem that the "people" want their leaders to have a faith (Christian) without being too Christian.

Had Bill Clinton never gone to church he would not have been president.

Lesson for Canadian Christians, stop being ashamed of your faith. Much like the Conservative philosophy in Canada. Don't be ashamed to be conservative

I'm not ashamed to be Christian and I'm not ashamed to be Conservative. What I will not do is react negatively to a negative slur given by a liberal or a socialist. I will turn it around and make a positive statement as to what I believe and why.

Its called Moderation! There is nothing worse than a Religious fanatic! The hair on the back of my neck stands up when PLL say they get instructions/predictions from GOD.

Religion, like Sex, is best when its personal.

Funny what punctuation and capital letters can do to a statement. Over at M. Malkin, a poster made fun of a Hillory stmt.
Change, depends on -----------.
Change DEPENDS, on ----------.
Another said, Change means if Hillory wins, you will have to live on change, as the rest of your money will go to taxes.
Lots of people do not like Hillory.
It is going to be a vicious fight, and posters are warning Obama to stay out of small planes and away from parks and watch his back.

"If the New Hampshire Democratic Party’s 100 Club dinner is any bell weather"

Time/CNN is allegedly one of America's most prestigious news services. Their stock-in-trade is the written word.

WTF is a "bell weather"? I'll hazard a guess that it's a device which is rung to warn of coming storms.

"Bellwether" is anything that sets a standard for a group. mutter..mutter :-(

Posted by: dmorris at January 5, 2008 1:49 PM

its bellwether, and its more appropriate than one might think.

sheeple.

Further to that Cal2 the "wether" part, I believe, is a castrated ram. Also quite fitting.

It looks like the USA is about to be steamrollered by Obamamania. We Canadians should warn them about personalityMania.

The kid looks tall, smiles nice and wears good clothes. He has done nothing in his life; been a senator for two years and not had to take responsibility for anything. Who is backing him and running him?

Posted by: Wimpy Canadian at January 5, 2008 4:21 PM

Phillip G @ 12:58 Actually I prefer to share my sex with a womabn, not keep it to myself :-)

Absolutely, WC!!! As one of the many who voted for Trudeau the first time around, I couldn't agree more, and yes, it still embarrasses me. :-(

Posted by: dmorris at January 5, 2008 4:27 PM

Joel at PTBC has a great breakdown of the Canadian MSM coverage of the Iowa primaries. Huckabee doesn't get nearly as much coverage as Obama. No surprise there.

Liz, I'm an atheist and I agree with you.

Posted by: PiperPaul at January 5, 2008 9:11 PM

WLMR - do you really think Hillary will be satisfied with VP? I don't. Life as an unbeatable senator is pretty good.

And when are you going to give up on Ron Paul? He's a fringe candidate and sure as hell isn't going to get any votes from Democrats.

Posted by: randall g at January 6, 2008 12:05 AM

Hillary can still recover and win big enough on super Tuesday to get the nomination. However IF she loses she will most definitely NOT be the VP nom. IT would make a complete mockery of the "Change" theme BO is trying to ride to the WH.

Posted by: Gord Tulk at January 6, 2008 1:44 AM

I can understand being "not truly Christian" or "not Christian enough", but how can you be "too Christian"?
