100,000 Lefties Admit Defeat

And counting.

Wasn't there a countdown clock or something to prepare for Y2K. The only people really needing this clock would be members of the msm, cbc staff and reporters, members of the liberal party and Lizzy May, plus a few others, to let them know how much time they have left before they have to blame someone other than Bush for all the world problems.

Posted by: MaryT at December 30, 2007 4:17 PM

Sorry, Kate. I don't see how this correlates to "admitting defeat". In my eyes it's more like a celebration. No matter what happens in the next US election, we're likely to have a president who can eat pretzels, find his/her way out of press conferences, and pronounce the word "nuclear". It's a shame that the bar has been set so low, but at an improvement is inevitable.

Posted by: jred at December 30, 2007 4:19 PM

...pronounce the word "nuclear"...

Walter Mondale was never president.

Posted by: Mississauga Matt at December 30, 2007 4:20 PM

God Bless the troops, God Bless George W. Bush and God Bless the United States of America!

Posted by: Redneck Ralph at December 30, 2007 4:34 PM

jred

Before you slag GWB too much look at the options available to the American people. Al Gore and John Kerry made GWB look like a man of towering intellect, high morals and lofty vision.

Posted by: Joe at December 30, 2007 4:38 PM

Absolutely jred, because we all know decisions are best made if one can eat pretzels, find the right path out of 10 in front of cameras, and above all pronounce nuclear. Who lowered the bar?
Would you prefer the Al Gore-type who draws heart breaking misleading cartoons of polar bears? Now that's real criteria for POTUS.

Posted by: bluetech at December 30, 2007 4:41 PM

jred -- I suppose you should vote for someone who can eat pretzels and pronounce nuclear. Yep, and you had better buy yourself one of those countdown keychains. Yep, that's what you need to do....and never give up a sinking ship...

Posted by: Orlin at December 30, 2007 4:48 PM

they will donate up to 5% of the profits to charity. nothing like a lefty charity cause. they are far more generous with other peoples money.

Posted by: cal2 at December 30, 2007 4:54 PM

Well, guess GWB isn't too bad when all the likes of "jred" can come up with is down to stuff like eating pretzels and pronunciation of nuclear, probably the most mispronounced word ever, by multitudes of politicians and even educators.

God Bless GWB and God Bless the USA for sure.
Without the USA the world would be a much lessor, poorer place. It's astounding the willful ignorance expressed by certain elements including those who benefit from the generosity the US bestows all around the globe.

Posted by: Liz J at December 30, 2007 5:02 PM

Please, please, please someone create me a count-down clock that counts down to when Al Gore says it will be "too late" to do anything about global warming. I think it's either 5 years or 10 depending on whether you like your chili hot or killer-hot.

cal2 -- what exactly does the "up to" in the phrase "up to 5% profits" mean, anyway?

Posted by: Richard Ball at December 30, 2007 5:03 PM

The site is a like a parody of all those who have an unreasonable pathological hatred of GWB.
Their examples of "hate" emails are light criticism - unlike their own criticism of the democratically elected leader of the USA.

Posted by: lemon at December 30, 2007 5:15 PM

USA and SDA -- off by just one letter.

Coincidence?!

Posted by: Richard Ball at December 30, 2007 5:27 PM

Any Lefties out there ... when the Bush
clock runs out, be sure to reset it for when the Rudy Clock runs out, then set it again for another four years after that.

I do believe that the American people are ready for either a woman or a Negro to be their commander and Chief ... no chauvinism or racism intended. Just the facts ma'am.

That's a lot of weeping eh people? Therapists love this stuff. The on-going derangement syndromes are gold them.

If we ever have to set a Hillary Clock it will be too late for anything good.

Posted by: John West at December 30, 2007 5:38 PM

Heh Heh..up to 5%..that could mean anything from half a percent to 4.99%..

What do you want to bet that it is on the lower end of the scale?

Even at the full 5% on $50,000, that's only $2,500

How altruistic of them!

Posted by: Kursk at December 30, 2007 6:02 PM

Jred, George's wife can pronounce "nuclear", I heered her do it on th' TV once.

That's close enuf, ain't it?

Posted by: The Phantom at December 30, 2007 6:07 PM

My, these people do have time on their hands: maybe they should join all their friends here and watch the countdown together. Souvenirs are available.

Posted by: GDW at December 30, 2007 6:10 PM

I'm happy that the democrats are so pleased that Bush is leaving office, but they shouldn't be counting their chickens yet. I would quite happily bet that the next president will be another republican. After all, if they could steal the last election they might as well steal then next one to! :)

Posted by: minuteman at December 30, 2007 6:42 PM

jred

newclear you say, ah well we must then conclude that GWB is and idiot

Oh, BTW, we can also assume then that S.Hawking is an idiot, as he and GWB are aflicted with the same malidy, it's called dyslexia. Dyslexia has a funny way of causing some problems with articulation of the spoken and written word, thus making all us dyslexics IDIOTS. 'cept we still tend to be intellectually better endowed than you!!!!

Posted by: GYM at December 30, 2007 6:48 PM

jred, just curious, are you a Yale grad, ever managed a major baseball team, been elected Governor of Texas or President of the US twice or been a faithul caring partner in a long term relationship?

How about putting out a list of your accomplishments for us for purposes of comparison and contrast just to get a sense of where you are coming from in your judgements.

Bush may have choked on a pretzel, but, trust me, Clinton has probably choked on things in the Oval Office that, well, let's not go there....

Posted by: penny at December 30, 2007 8:16 PM

I wonder what they'll do when he leaves office as expected?

After all, wasn't he the one who, after stealing an election, bringing down the twin towers, singlehandledly manufacturing 15 years of false intelligence on Iraq, was going to suspend the democratic process and turn the US into his own private police state?

Posted by: Kate at December 30, 2007 9:13 PM

A countdown clock, a "Bush is Dumb" mantra, and the token troll to point it all out.

Proof positive that it doesn't really require entire villages to have resident idiots; it just takes small minds making clocks that run backwards, that are then purchased by other small minds that don't really care what time it is, who then all claim to be intellectually superior.

Unfortunately the village idiots have little hope of ever being correct, and the clock will only achieve that once.

Posted by: Yoop at December 30, 2007 9:21 PM

How do you feel about hotdogs, jred? I mean in comparison to pretzels. Fork and knife or hands? The future of the free world may depend on your answer.

Posted by: Jan at December 30, 2007 9:21 PM

Bush isn't an idiot.

He's a war criminal.

Posted by: yolik at December 30, 2007 10:34 PM

I rue the day GWB leaves office, looking at most of the competition truly puts a chill down my spine.
May God bless America and may good sense prevail.

Posted by: kelly at December 31, 2007 2:36 AM

I hope the USA's next President has a functioning brain, regardless of whether they are Republican or Democratic.

Posted by: John Murney at December 31, 2007 5:58 AM

Silly leftists, don't they know George Bush is Adolf Hitler and won't be leaving office ever since he's going to make himself dictator for life?

Posted by: BillyHW at December 31, 2007 5:58 AM

The Lefties got another blow this AM when Harper announced the GST will be chopped another percentage point to 5% as promised.

In the Lefty mind that only benefits the rich. We await Jacko's whine and silence from Dion and the Dionettes like Ralphie Goodale.

It's starting to click with people when all those chosen randomly by reporters gave it a thumbs up.
Now we'll see if Dion will say he's going to put it back. As Mulroney stated, Liberals love that GST!

I suspect that the operators of the site and jred are expressing emotions similar to many republicans in the final days of Harry Truman's term in office.

The Reps were largely incorrect in their judgement then (Truman's was a very corrupt administration - on that they were right) and so are GWB's opponents today (GWB's admin has been pretty clean but he has turned a blind eye to the corruption and overspending of the GOP members of the house and senate - much as HST did).

A further paralell between the two was that their critics painted them as bumbling hicks when that could not have been further from the truth - HST was easily the most widely read president ever - he had a very in-depth knowledge of egyptian history for example and he was a very capapble artillery-man in the army (and being a habadasher at one time, probably the best-dressed president ever as well).

GWB has a very high level of post graduate education and flew fighter jets in the guard.

Psuedo-elitists like jred probably think Noam Chomsky is a great political writer and can barely operate a toaster.

john west. are the people of the u.s. ready for extreme socialism?

Posted by: old white guy at December 31, 2007 12:47 PM

Gee...

If I could have found a backwards countdown Chretien clock,I'd still be using it today.

Toasting to it every night,as a matter of fact.

Bush supporters, please hold on to your dignity and stop defending this man. Enough said:

I was a GWB supporter when he ran for President and defeated Gore the liar (Gorkical) and I was a bigger GWB supporter when he ran for President against Keri the coward. I support GWB still, he is a brave, decent man who has governed the most powerful nation on earth (U.S.A.) though the last eight years of war and terror. I cringe when I imagine how our world would look today had the citizens of the U.S.A. not elected this intrepid Texan.

God Bless GW Bush and the beautiful nation to the south - the incomparable United States of America. We have them to thank for the Liberty we were able to save during the dark days of Liberano/Dipper rule in our own country - Canada. All other nations owe comparable debts to the U.S.A. the most generous nation that has ever existed.
